This is what people call "Tom's political music". It's why people want to cancel him. 95% (guesstimating lol) of his music never mentions anything about politics. On most of his tracks, he conveys his life story about his alcoholism and pill addiction, his love of rap, his hate of the music industry, where he came from and where he wants to go, etc. His "political rap" doesn't seem very controversial to me. It's, mostly, just common sense. He calls out all of the sides and puts them under his musical lense.

      @BlueTiamat 28 днів тому

I support this, never thought tom was controversial. Just an individual exposing his point of view and the things he feels are weird. I dont agree with him 100% of the time, but I do agree with Tom more than anyone on the music scene. Oh and im from an european country! XD He does have some music that are more political but mostly is about exposing the conflict of interest from 1 or multiple partys.

I’m proud of you for exploring Tom’s “political” music!!! Once you get to know him and see what he’s about, you start realizing it’s not actually political - it’s an attempted wake up call and asking people to come together and overcome the manipulation and brainwashing that caused many of today’s separations. He wants people to think for themselves.

This is the first Tom song I listened to. Like you I never liked "political" songs and add to that I had never liked rap. Always thought it degraded women. Knowing my values a friend begged me to listen to Tom. Needless to say I went down the rabbit hole. He reminded me of my boys and the way they speak the truth even if it hurts. Shout out Mom and Dad MacDonald for raising such a fine young man. Because after all the wrong paths Tom traveled he came back. We need more men like you, and Tom to help people wake up to the evil manipulation that society has fallen under. Much love and God's many blessings for you and your family Nelson. So glad I found your channel.

My husband asked who I was watching and I told him that I really love watching your videos because you and I have a VERY similar story. Former addict, turned back to the Lord (grew up in the church and went off to be the lost sheep), started my family and have been occupying my time until the Lord returns.
But just wanted to say I completely agree with what you are saying. We need to start standing up as Christians, keep oil in our lamps and burn bright for Christ! I truly feel we are living in the last days and when Jesus comes back do we really want to be lukewarm!?
Love the reactions, excited for you to get more into Tom's "political" music, which is actually just facts with a beat 😅🎶

Thanks!! Means a lot! And keep killing it!
I think pre 90’s, it was widely accepted and normal to be a Christian
95-04 it became a little less normal
04-2013 it was like, u can be Christian just don’t push it on me
2013 - now it’s completely uncool and strange and even the people that claim to be Christian don’t even know scripture
So I really do believe we need to get fired up! For the Lord

I am so glad you've come to this realization. This is exactly what Tom's political music does is it brings it to the Forefront of how idiotic the people pushing the narratives are. And he's trying to wake the sheeple up by exposing and bringing things that should be obvious two people in an edgy way so they take notice.

Again, I hate I missed this! Was on kitten duty. We just got 2 baby kittens - and getting our 4yo border collie and 19 year old curmudgeonly cat to get used to them - it's been iffy lol! I'm rewatching now. I wanted to say something about the phrase - "Turn the other cheek". It actually does not mean what 99.9% I've come across think it means. Since you mentioned the phrase, Nelson, I thought I'd drop this in here for you & anyone who may read it.
Turn the other cheek does not mean turning a blind eye nor being the better/bigger person and walking away. Most don't realize this. It was a sign of disrespect and standing up for oneself. In those days the Romans would punish people by hitting them with a gauntlet (a leather glove with metal spikes) and they would do it somewhere within the hair line, or under the clothes, so it wouldn't readily show to others. It was considered extremely dishonorable for a Roman to strike another person where it could be easily seen. One would generally allow them to hit you where intended as a sign of *okay I get it, I understand, wont happen again. Turning the other cheek actually means that you turn your cheek toward them and offer your cheek to them for the strike. It's a way to say - *hit me where everyone can see it. It's a sign of disrespect and telling them *I'm standing up to you - Hit me where all can see what you've done.
When you go back to the Aramaic (the language Jesus spoke) and also some Ancient Hebrew (NOT Hebrew, nor Latin or Greek), and you read the direct to English translations, you begin to comprehend what things in the Bible really mean. You also begin to see where Rome (which never did die, it merely tramsformed) has also twisted meanings and taken a lot out (both in scripture itself and in entire books left out intentionally), edited or twosted things, or completely inserted something that was never in the original texts in the first place. It's brutally eye opening. But yes, turning the other cheek absolutely does not mean being the bigger person and walking away from something. It actually means standing up and confronting the adversity in your path, with great strength and dignity.
I'm going to do my best to make it here, from the beginning, for at least a few lives next week! I'm so sorry I missed especially this song! I'll do my best to catch you on the next one! Until then, and as always, sending blessings from Bama!

It was encouraging but at the same time it was disheartening that they felt they needed to be quiet (silent majority) about it. You're right Nelson, we need to be vocal. Every one of them needs to sport their belief and opinion public, too.

Long post here… I appreciate anyone who actually reads the whole thing lol.
We absolutely need to step up. A great phrase I heard recently from a pastor…. When it comes to politics and culture, as Christians… “it’s not about left or right, it’s about up or down”.
Meaning when we vote for politicians or have conversations about policies or cultural issues, we need to look at if it moves us up closer to God or down toward the devil. And that is why I am confident in saying that in this modern era, you cannot be a “Democrat” and also a Christian because today’s Left supports abortion and describes child murder as a healthcare right… that’s sickening. Too many people are blind to this and they need to be called out, lovingly. Which is hard, but if we have eyes to see we need to say what we see.
Which means we need to remain informed on what those policies are and not be as concerned with the personalities of said politicians. Look at the values they demonstrate, look at the fruits of their labor and be open to solutions that move our communities closer in alignment with Christ’s teachings and values, regardless which “side” it comes from. It’s not just that we should want to be this way, but more that we have a duty to be this way.
And if you look at the current political landscape, with eyes open and looking at the reality of the situation… now more than ever the two candidates are more ideologically opposed than they have been in a very long time and maybe ever as far as American Politics. One of them, by their fruits, will bring us closer to a society that can freely worship and get closer to God and who says God’s name in his speeches. The other espouses anti-truths and favors oppression, and whose fruits are sour and are hidden from public view and does not acknowledge God or Jesus.
Trump did try to unify after the attempt and he didn’t get the coverage it deserved by our corrupt media, and it was even twisted because that’s what they do to Trump, always paint him as a villain, and when you look at him closely you can see that he was humbled by what happened. His heart has softened and he is likely closer to God than he’s ever been. We need to pray for him, he can still unite us 🙏
Also just a side note, “We The People”, is an incredibly powerful phrase with multiple implications. It gives us agency, an acknowledgment that we are individuals with free will, and that “We” tells us that we can govern ourselves and work together. “We The People” is the only system I want to be a part of. It just requires more hard work, more duty, more nuance and more cooperation. It cuts against our primal and sinful selfish nature, but it’s possible.

I totally get your stand on no politics in music cuz you need it to help you escape. Totally get it.
That's why I gave up NFL and NBA, and well most TV and movies. I went to those for an escape and they brought it.
So I don't fault you at all.
For me, Tom brings some of the political - but mostly societal - vibe - but does so that really puts a mic on what is stupid to expose it, and I feel that's a good thing.

As a Christian, I have thought about doing reactions to songs from a Christian view, but I wouldn’t have much good say about the mainstream music 😂. I listen to it but it’s worldly for sure! It’s these independents bringing real messages and truths. Be cool do chat sometime on biblical level. Like how you don’t try to please everyone, speaks truth.

There was a guy called Nietzsche who said something like "take control over your shit or someone else will". And that wasn't just about your material stuff but also your mind, thoughts and views.
If a politician or the media says "today is Clint Eastwood's birthday" you better check for your self if it's right. You shouldn't trust them on anything. They try to get control over you on every level and in every way.

Sir, I can respect you that you have found a place where you feel right. You feel a peace of mind. You have given yourself over to God, and God takes care of all. I, too, raised 2 children. I, too, wanted to protect my children from exposure to ideas I personally didn't agree with. However, in my mind and in my heart, I believe that everyone on this planet should be able to be themselves. If a man believes he's a woman and chooses to live as a woman, that is her business, not mine. How she presents herself to the world, to me , to my kids is her truth. You can disagree as I've just heard you say as much. As I feel free to disagree with you. I do not see the woman who was born male as being sick. They are only different. Because a man chooses to be a woman does not harm me or my children in any way. Did it bring about the need to have a conversation with my children when they asked me why the man was pretending to be a woman? Yes, it did. I felt that if they were old enough to ask the question, they were old enough to hear the answer. That answer needed to be honest. The answer for me was to tell my children that some people are just born that way. Not that he is sick. We don't know for a fact that she is sick. You believe in God, sir. God created this person, correct? If God created this person this way, it would suggest that was how this person was meant to be. God loves all his children, right? Should we not love all of His children just as He made them? I feel that by lying to my children, telling them that this man is sick is teaching them to be against God. Who are we to question God's creations or deny them because they are different from ourselves? In truth, God made a man who feels like a woman on the inside. If I am going to believe that God is the almighty and the creator of all things, I must accept that He created this person the way she is. I told my children what I believe God is trying to teach everyone. That all His creations are a miracle and a gift to all. No matter our differences, we are all children of God. God would want us to love all as He does.
Sir, one of my grandchildren was born different than most. As a family, should we have rejected him because he is different? Do we tell others that he is sick? Tell everyone that because he's not the same as the majority, he is just God's mistake? Should we fear that he may infect us with his sickness? My grandson grew up to be a genius in math and quantum physics. His contributions to help us understand life and our universe have been valuable. This young man will celebrate his 22nd year of life here in two weeks or so. He is not ill. He has infected those who encounter him with the ability to accept and love all. Guilty as charged. My grandson does not feel that he is a woman in a male body. He feels that he is different from the majority, but he is loved and accepted for exactly what he is. One of God's creations. Because of that, he can love all of God's creations, too. No hate, no fear, no shame, no distrust. Only love.
My grandson was born with a condition - not an illness-that is called Arthrogryposis. While he was inside his momma first growing, there was not much fluid for him to move around in. As he got bigger, the space he grew in became very tight and restricted his movements. Because he could not kick his arms or legs freely, the muscles and tendons in his arms and legs had no reason to develop or grow. It was not because he was ill. He was born without the use of his arms or legs. They did not form and grow correctly due to lack of use. He will always be in a wheel chair. Through science there are ways to enhance his chair so it is motorized and steered by an attachment he manipulates with his mouth. He was fortunate to have developed some use of his thumb and index finger on one hand. He also has developed some use of both feet and toes. He learned to write, to play video games, to play the Tuba, to type, to feed himself, all through his feet and toes. He is male based on anatomy but he feels that gender assignment is a hang up man created himself because we lack the higher intelligence to understand we are all made, both male and female inside. It was society that taught us to take on the role of being a Man or a Woman. He says God made the differences in gender only to allow us to procreate if we chose too. He believes that God gave us all both male and female thinking and feeling. It was man that decided if you had a penis you should act like this and if you had a vagina you had to act a different way. He says that we misunderstood God's will. We are all the same inside. We are both male and female. Our anatomy was not meant to divide us. He says that when a person is born with male anatomy but feels more like what society has determined are female feelings it's because our spirit or consciousness that makes us who we are , has more of the traits and characteristics we have decided identify with the female side of us. Anatomy was not meant to decide how you think, act, or feel. Two separate things. My grandson may or maynot be correct in his belief of what God's ultimate goal was when He created us but I sure feel better inside when I think about accepting and loving all because of their differences and it makes me feel icky inside when I consider your version of Christianity and going against the God who created a child by telling my children the man pretending to be a woman is just sick. It doesn't feel right to me to judge or put down others for feeling different from the way I feel. To lie or misguide seems wrong to me.
Like I said before. I can respect you for somehow finding a comfort in the Christianity you have found to be your truth. By all means carry on with what feels right to you. I won't try to interfere because my version of Christianity and belief in what God's plans are, are different from yours. On the same hand, I'd prefer you not try to jam your beliefs down my throat or my childrens throats. Just my preference sir that my children and grandchildren are not taught to hate or fear or believe in some mysterious illness that made God's perfect creation some kind of diseased lesser being the should be pitied. "Sure, you tell yourself girls that they should still love the man pretending to be a woman." You have also taught them to fear God's creations because it's sick. Sick is bad. If he's sick sir why can't the doctors give him medicine to make him better? One lie will create the need for another has been my experience. I chose not to take that line. My children are both college grads. Both married and both have children. They've both been successful in their careers. They both have many close friends who speak highly of them. Neither of my children have committed crimes or have done things they had to be arrested for. They don't hurt others intentionally. I'd say they grew up to be decent people. They were taught facts about people who were different from us. They love everyone regardless of how others identify themselves. Please don't fight to force me and my family to live in your world. We prefer our way. Can you find it in your heart to just let us all be who and what God made us to be? Please. That goes for Tom and Nova, too. I understand that you can't understand how someone could think the way they do. It doesn't make you right and them wrong. It's certainly not something to fight for. Forcing our ways on others is not the answer, my friends.
One last word, sir. On being pro-life. I myself may never choose abortion as an option. I value the gift of life as you do. However, if another should choose that option that is between them and God. We are not here to judge others. God himself said he will be the judge. So lighten up and take comfort in knowing God has it all handled. You need not concern yourself with the actions of others unless it threatens you or your family's right to live. ❤peace!
