Great Channel . as a kid i grew up in the NT and i remember at BARRYCAVES ROADHOUSE AND FREWENA ROADHOUSE there were 32inch campovens at each place .. yes 1Yard wide made in a UK foundry .story goes that the Boss from Anthonys Lagoons Station walked in to the store n asked the pommy bookepper to order 6 camp ovens hen asked size he just held his hands apart and said Oh so bloody big 😁few mths later 6 pots and lids turned up . there one as far as i no in the Mount Isa Museum for people to adire
haha yeah well thart story is a cross bretween myth and legend but some of it is true. The ovens you are talking about were actually 36 inches across and are known as the Alexandria Station Ovens. Ive heard it said they were made in UK, but I think they were actually made in Toowoomba. They are ugly, roughly cast and ridiculously heavy. They have all been found and accounted for now , with the last one turning up a couple of years ago. Thanks for following me mate, Cheers
I love your videos. I have my grandfather's old camp oven that is an 18" oven. I have 2 steel ovens and a cheep China made one that is 30odd years old. Nothing like camp oven cooking.
I've got a cheap 4.5qt. It's probably as big as I want to go at the moment, as it'll be one of my main cooking tools when I get back on the road. I desire something bigger, but hey...one day.

For anyone interested I recently got a 16qt supex brand chinese made oven. Its a tick over 15 inches amd quite deep

How do you measure an oven?
Across the diameter in inches. So measure across the top of the base from one side to the other
