I don't think this works on a basic Entune system. I have a 2018 Rav4 LE and it just does not work.

You have to get the syntax on the folder names correct capitals etc works on 2017/18 corolla

Wow, finally got this to work (6th time's the charm!) Here's what I did --
Model: Toyota Camry SE 2017
1) Format USB drive to FAT32
1-a) Plug in USB drive to Windows laptop
1-b) Open file explorer and select the USB drive
1-c) Right-click the selected USB drive and select "Format"
1-d) In the pop-up box, make sure "File System" = "FAT32". Not sure if it matters if the "Quick format" option remains checked or not (I unchecked it for overkill)
1-e) Click "Start" to format the USB drive
2) Create Folders, titled "StartupImage" and one titled "DisplayOffImage"
3) Prep Images
3-a) Set image type to JPG and pixel dimensions to 885x530 (I did this by uploading, cropping, and exporting on www.photopea.com for free)
3-b) Name image(s) to "Image1.JPG", "Image2.JPG", etc.
3-c) Drop the prepped image(s) into the "StartupImage" and/or "DisplayOffImage" folder(s) you created in Step 2 above
4) Follow the instructions in this UA-cam video

This is sound advice. I followed this to the dot, and worked first try no problem. Just a heads up for those trying to find an image online. When Googling images, you can click "Tools" under the search bar, and then set the image results to 885x530. This will save some time.
Also, I'm not sure other USB formats won't work since mine was already formatted to FAT32, but I do know FAT32 formatted USB will definitely work.
When I have music playing via iPod or radio there are no graphics for the station (station logo) nor what I am playing (album art). How can I get the graphics on these things I am listening too??
I saw a setting for that about displaying album images. So just go through all your settings and you'll see it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful than that.
I have a 2018 Carolla and it dosent give me that option is there a way to fix that.

This works on XLE and XSE models. XLE And XSE Models comes with Entune Audio Plus.

I’m gonna help where Toyota screwed up in the manual .. so incomplete!! For one .. it has to be the right dimensions in size , 2nd there are file photo converters online , 3rd And most important .. when making the 2 folders
... make sure you capitalize the first letter in each word ... StartUpImage as example .. in the manual The U is not capitalized and it matters .
It keeps saying on the car that it doesnt support the image type or something. Even though the image is a jpg file??

I own a 2016 FRS with the 7inch Bespoke head unit. the general setting menu look similar but doesn't show start up image, or screen off image. is that because I haven't yet plugged in a USB drive?? meaning, will it become an option once I do this, name the files, and plug one in? I'm hoping so as I am changing any trace of "scion" on my car, seeing as how after my year, Scion is no more. can you please point me in the right direction with this? I would really appreciate it. I want to replace it with TRD images.

Hi Pete. Thanks so much for the help with this. Wasn't able to figure it out until I found your video. I have a 2017 Rav4. I followed your directions exactly. It worked like a charm for the DisplayOffimage folder, but no luck at all with the Startupimage folder. I even tried deleting the start up folder on the thumb drive and setting it up new again, and still nothing. It just sits there for a minute or so until the screen just shuts off without uploading anything. Any hints on what might be going wrong? Thanks in advance!

2018 Toyota Tacoma . While driving with the radio on the sound will stop and it will start recording by itself. I am unable to change stations and turning it off and on doesn't ho. Dealer said my phone had to much on it. Idk. Wish I could attach a picture.
I was having issues even after following the instructions in the video. Turns out the pictures have to be 5mb or less. At least it does in my 2014 Tundra.

@@tripas421 Thank you for the tip, I tried so many times, it says that it's "transferring the data", but no image pops up. Now, I resized my image and it turned out to be 500KB.I'll try first thing in the morning.

I have tried this on my 2018 RAV4 LE, and for the life of me, it does not work. I never get the customize options to appear in the General menu, and I keep getting a messege that there are no files on the usb key. Tried different key and same issue. Any ideas???

Doesn't work with my 2018 Rav4 XLE. My guess... is that the usb is not formated right? Does it matter if it's NTFS or FAT? I also followed other people's advice below and nothing helped. Maybe I should just try another usb.

Make sure your USB drive is formatted to Fat32 and not NTFS. Mine worked great once I changed it

in a windows pc or laptop, insert your usb stick. right click on it and select 'format' from the menu. File system should be set to FAT32. the click start, for quick format

When I turn my car off it just goes black. I picked the image but it wont do it. I dont have entune. Does that matter? I was able to do the startup.

Thank you for taking the time to watch our video on how to customize your Toyota’s Entune Audio Display with a Picture or Image. When reviewing page 426 of the 2018 Toyota RAV4 ewe find that, depending on the USB memory device that is connected to the system, the device itself may not be operable and certain functions may not be available. If the device is inoperable or a function is unavailable due to malfunction (as opposed to a system specification), disconnecting the device and reconnecting it may resolve the problem.

Hey, that's awesome! Didn't even know that was possible. I had a backup camera installed in my Prius C Persona. It works fine, the screen is a color screen, but the backup view colors are sort of biased to blues and magentas. Is that a result of the camera or the screen, and if it's the screen is there any way to adjust the color balance? Thx!

Entune = Last Decade's technology with so many bugs that it renders itself useless on a sunny day...it does not have auto dimming feature (I drive 2017 Taco trd sports) - i can barely see whats on screen.

This is nuts, does not work for me! What file format does this need to be in. The Entune is not recognizing anything on the USB, but I know its there in a jpeg format.
