Absolutely love your videos on the TMB. I have been a bit intimidated by some videos I've watched but yours encourage resilience and determination but have also made me believe that, if I go at my own pace, I can do this. You also focus on the route rather than "showing off" which has been really helpful as well. So ...Thank you and well done for your achievement! 😃
Bring back good memories. I went to TMB early September 2022. I truly relate with “liquid knees”, especially in the last hike from Le Brevent to Les Houches. 😅
May I ask for international travelers, are there lockers in the main town like Chamonix where you can keep your luggage and pick up at the end of the hike? Thank you
There might be some but we didn't investigate that option. We brought in just what we needed for the hike and after the hike we bought an extra bag for all the post-hike shopping:) If you're booking a hotel in Chamonix for after the hike I'm pretty sure they'll let you leave the luggage there until you finish the tour.
@@snailtrailshiking Thank you so much for your reply. TMB will be our first long hike, your videos on TMB are very useful and comprehensive! Did you book ahead the campsites? How early do I need to do that?
The only accommodation we booked in advance was our first night in Chamonix, just to be sure we had somewhere to stay upon arrival. Other than that we didn't book any campsites ahead of time. Because we started relatively early we didn't have any problems getting spots on the day. Even the two refugios we stayed at were just booked either on the day or a day before. I wouldn't risk it at the peak season though as they do fill up. Normally people recommend booking early in the year - so about now for a July-August hike.
It was relatively easy - flights and accommodation online, the rest on the fly. We haven't booked any refugios as we were planning to camp all the way. The two refugios we stayed at had vacancies so we were able to book on the day. We didn't want to pre-book too much in case it took us longer/shorter to get through each stage.

Im watching through all the TMB videos for planning for weeks , and i have to say this is one of the most helpful yet, thanks!
Thanks:) Glad it was helpful!
Amazing footage!! Those mountains, views and streams look so beautiful. Great to see a "plus sized" hiker conquering the TMB. Thank you!

Yeah, that was one tough descent!
Best walk the wife and I undertook!
same here:)
Such a good video!!!
Isn't gravity wonderful 🥰
Hi, where did you decide to camp day 3? Is there a designated spot before Col de la Seigne?
Really interested in getting a copy of the trail profile shown at 3:32-40 in the video - anyone know what the publication is?
It's a part of a big map you can get from the TMB info centre at Chamonix. It has a detailed map of the TMB plus trail profile for the whole length.
great video and what an amazing adventure with your family!! What kind of training did you do to prepare for the TMB?
Thanks! We did a few overnighters and day walks but other than that just walking up and downhill with full packs.
@@snailtrailshiking Thank you! We don't have alot of mountains here but we have been doing stairs and some weekend hikes!
Loved the video(s). How hard is it to find camp sites for wild camping? I heard stories that people got woken up at night and had to move on?
We didn't find it hard, but we made sure we stayed well off the main trail and were up and moving early.

What an adventure. How did you manage to arrange it from here in Australia?
