I think it's because her personality is very egomaniacal. She's very full of herself and is always causing a good portion of the infighting by refusing to believe others could be better suited for roles or just as good as her. She sings a lot of the songs and after a while that gets tiring for the watchers and the characters as well. Just what I've gathered from reading some Tumblr posts and comments here and tiny bit of my own opinion in story writing.

Then there's Santana with this and Somebody like you (PLUS A TON MORE) and I'll see people focused on different characters and I DON'T GET IT! this early on, Santana rarely never gave amazing performances like this.
