Amazing he actually thought he had found a clever move when he actually dropped a piece and he could have blocked the white square bishop with his other knight 😅😂😂
My best advice: Try to concretely formulate the problem(s) that you have to solve with your move. That Queen move to d6: you said "I have to move somewhere". But why? Which threat did it prevent? What problem did it solve? The piece blunder: The problem was the squewer threat and the hanging knight, but you forgot about the hanging knight, because you formulated only half the problem.
drawing arrows is okay for the purposes of making the content more relatable and i think that is the reason he does this. what i would suggest is voice out the line he is calculating without the arrows, for his improvement, and only then repeat the line and now draw the arrows for the audience to be able to relate to what he thinks. this is time consuming sure but possible to do. this way everyone benefits. but i get your point, it doesn't help your visualization to draw arrows, and anyway you can't really do that in any game online or irl if you are serious about trying to win.
I think 15. b7 was supposed to be the "obvious" one - if he didn't move rook down to guard, you'd send queen down diagonal and mate. You went the other direction and then it went sideways. We'll get em next time.
@@winslowpeek5313it’s unsettling because it sort of falls in to the “uncanny valley”. The way the videos are set up and Patrick’s demeanour and commentary style kind of imply that there is a certain level of expertise or at least an ability and willingness to learn the game and evolve as a player. But it’s day 500 and it’s the same demeanour, same music, same commentary but zero improvement. It reminds me of the black mirror episode ‘white Christmas’ where the guy is forced to live the same day over and over again for 10,000 years listening to the same song on repeat
@@IMustHaveThatApe In Patrick's defense, if you look at his profile, he really has only played 1 game a day for the last 500 days. 500 games really isn't that much, and not really enough to improve any appreciable amount beyond a certain point. In that same amount of time I've played almost 7000 rapid games. So he's not really getting enough reps in to solidify any understanding of any position he ends up getting into.
I think when you are claculating you should count out loud, "I'm up 1, back to even, im up 3, back to even ... ect." with each capture and recapture. I've noticed this is a pattern in your calculations. You calculate a line that you throw out as bad when the end result is even material and a better position, or vice versa you go into a line where you lost material at the end due to miscounting.
Tough game. I think it showed the weakness of your calculations. You take a long time in a “positional” position where the top five or so moves are pretty close in evaluation but you rush in a tactical position where you should take your time and calculate because you get excited about an idea. Still entertaining and great way to start my morning
Patrick, you lost several games trying to avoid a fork, but exchanging a minor piece for the rook is not that bad. Just let them exchange their bishop or knight for your rook
Bro, i've been watching you and conitinue suggesting that you get a real trainer and learn at least something for theory...otherwise you're going to get flagged on this climb to 2000.
Him being down a piece and not realizing it was funny, yes. But, some of y'all are being unnecesarily disrespectful. Let people learn from their mistakes smh
Yet again you stopped developing leaving your c8 bishop and a8 rook at home. You spent several minutes on the pointless Qd5-d6 and also considered moving your knights for the second time or the weakening move b5. Just develop! Bg4 and Rad8 were the obvious moves.
How in the name of the gods can you consider Bishop h3 in analysis saying it threatens mate and not even CONSIDER the 100% screaming to be played Bishop b7 setting up a seen a thousands of times by you obvious queen plus bishop battery aimed at his king .. what is it you are looking at
Yes to this! The rooks tend to move only when they have to. Instead of moving the minor pieces to "attack", getting everything into the game will help prevent losing material. Today the bishop stayed on c8 and of course the rook stayed on a8 as a result. This lead to the threat of a skewer causing him to lose a piece. Instead of looking to attack when you're not ready, save time by looking to develop everything and then an attack has a better chance.
@@sam2725 I'm curious about his rating that warrants this kind of toxicity. If he doesn't like the content, he can leave. Social media made people too comfortable with insulting others and not getting punched in the face for it
He miscalculated the exchange or simply did not realize his knight was hanging. Patrick needs to improve his calculations with exchanges. Also, try not to force moves that simply are not there.
Patrick is a great guy and this is a great channel. He is pure fun and I enjoy it every day, but why do you say we are toxic?. Just because there is no chance in the Universe as we know it that he gets to 2000 or maybe Elon Musk develop some neural implants or maybe he wakes up after an accident as those medical wonders and some how he learns how to spot blunders?. Well, maybe we are a little toxic, but not malicious.

Why am I addicted to this channel just waiting for him to blunder almost every video. 🤣
Hangs a full piece "I actually thought of what my opponent was going to do and found a way to prevent a scewer" 👍
My thoughts exactly! Lost 3 points instead of 2, thrilled about the worse move 😂😂😂. Love this channel! Ive been there though.
