Do we need RESEARCH to decide whether or not to ban the severing of the arms of children who want to be fish? What kind of research would be necessary?
Wes Streeting is one of those gay men like me who can see how dangerous the trans ideology is to vulnerable children. I am surprised that he got Spinless Kier to support it. Children are not able to make an informed choice about such things as taking puberty blockers. i personally feel they should not have access to any type of transition treatment until someone is at least 21.
Kids do not know who or what they are, i have known so many tomboys that liked to dress that way when they got to being an adult left that behind. If they were now they would be changed.......let be kids be kids go through the stages and if when they are an adult they want to change that is ok
Yes, it's absolutely normal and natural for some girls to go through a tomboyish stage in their late childhood early teens. This does not translate to them changing their sex. What some adults and organisations have done re this issue is nothing short of child abuse.
Actually going through puberty and into adolescence resolved bodily stress for up to 90'% of minors in a number of research studies done and many of those sex-stereotype nonconforming kids turned out to just be LGB and they don't need to be 'fixed,' medicalising healthy bodies is the real conversion therapy.
Even adults do not know who or what they are, in any kind of objective, metaphysical way. Adults just have a right to make whatever mistakes they want.

I think I saw something about banning 'coercive' conversion therapy- I am hoping this leaves the door open for sensible, professional therapy as opposed to the affirmative approach.
What could be more of a conversion therapy than mutilating the bodies of what are in many cases healthy LGB kids who will likely grow out of any bodily distress, if they have any, by going through puberty and adolescence, leave the kids alone.

You could say that we must saw kids arms of in the hospital if they want to, cause they can buy a chain saw and do it illegally anyway. Besides, we should aim to prevent teen pregnancies and abortions, by providing good quality sex education and easy access to contraceptives. At least here where things are done rationally. Similarly, not giving kids blockers does not mean we should not help them and their families.

Puberty blockers are either dangerous & irreversible or they are not, you can't have it both ways. Trans teenagers are at risk of suicidal ideation without treatment. Society cannot be one rule for Cis gender and another rule for Trans gender. That is not how human rights work. There is no solid evidence that medical transistion procedures actually improve the lives of adults long term, much less children.
