  • You might recall that I was gifted some vitrigraph by a subscriber, and so I decided to pay it forward by using it in this piece that I created for a charity auction.
    Bullseye glass used:
    Vitrigraph - variety colors
Dense white (313) and clear tekta
Slumping mold is a large Bullseye square slumber
    Firing schedules:
    Full fuse:
    200-1100-30
    50-1225-60
    600-1475-30
9999-900-4.0 (I went for a really long anneal just to be super safe - dense white with some various colors that all started as different thicknesses - better to be safe than sorry!)
    100-600-0
I used a similar schedule when I added clear powder after sanding down the surface.
    For slump:
    200-1160-05
    9999-900-120
    100-600-0

Another great video, Jamaison. I just fused all tail end vitrograph into one piece with scrap clear on top. I also ended up with a few bubbles. I don’t plan on cold working. Lol

Jamieson I am so loving your attitude regarding paying it forward. The piece is so beautiful and I’m thinking you have really blessed the person who gifted the vitrograph to you. Thank you so much once again for generously sharing this with us.
I have been making puddles and some come out not so shiny but rough from the kiln paper. What can I do to correct this? Can I use a sanding block and then refine? They would be really beautiful if they were fully shiny.

Yes, that’s a good way to approach a fix. I made a video about puddles of you can go back and find it? I use a rock tumbler!
