The trials in EW were WILD. 1st trial: Excuse me I'm fighting WHO NOW? 2nd trial: I was not emotionally prepared for this fight 3rd trial: This is the most anime thing ever and I love it. Also, I can't believe I'm fighting the universal embodiment of despair/the apocalypse while riding dragon Zenos at the edge of existence
@@sawyer3244 extreme is easy but when fighting zodiark for the first time hes fucking insane, felt like a simple extreme trial on normal mode because we didnt know the mechs and it just was overall completely badass. extreme is only easy because its just avoiding aoes and there arent any really difficult stack/spread/ light party mechanics
One thing that they can never seem to make up their minds about is if the ancients each have a unique mask, or if it's only the members of the Council of 14. In Elpis, everyone had the same mask except Hades, but in the cutscene before this trial and in the trial against Emet-Selch, there were a bunch of different kinds of masks...more than just 14. And none in either cutscene matched the ones everybody seems to wear all the time.

This trial is tough. In my mind, they designed it to be tough, as befitting the status of Zodiark, to make up for the early place in the story.
