Great video! I went out there this past weekend with my wife after watching your video. Didn’t even know about this place and I live only 30 min away! Ended up catching my PB bass! Love the content!
Hi there, Joe, that is so great to hear. Thank you for taking the time to respond after watching the video. It’s great to hear that people like yourself find new places to paddle based on the videos. Stay safe and have a great summer out there!
Thank you for showing us this way of great fun!
Hey, you are certainly welcome! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Great stuff! Really enjoy seeing you and your pops enjoying and exploring the outdoors. Love the purposeful cut-to shots. Easy to understand. Your videos keep getting better and better Cliff! Can't wait for the next one and to see where your adventures take you next!
Hey Dan! Thank you so much for watching and commenting, I hope you are having a awesome summer up there on Long Island, I bet it’s beautiful!
Nice to see you out with your dad again Cliff! The river is a great place to get away from all the racket and enjoy some peace and tranquility. I'm heading for a similar river up here later this week and doing a 48-mile paddle, 24 miles upstream, and a nice leisurely downstream return trip. They tell me to expect Eagles, deer, and many other forms of wildlife on this trip. Unfortunately, our fishing season doesn't open until June 30 so I won't be doing any fishing yet! As Dan said, your videos are getting better all the time. I'm looking forward to seeing your next adventure! God bless!🛶
Wow, sounds like fun! Is this a multi day trip? I take it you are motoring up in the PaddleSki and paddling down?
Hi Cliff, you're correct, it's a beaver. Here in Montana we call them Bank Beavers. Love your videos featuring the 437ps, we recently purchased one but haven't got it in the water yet!
I think you are going to love your paddle ski! Thank you for the confirmation on the beaver dens on the banks. That’s great to know!
Nice waterway, you and your dad looked like you had a good time. Thanks
Hi Terry - as always, thank you so much for watching and commenting, hope you have a great weekend!
NICE ADVENTURE! Grew up in Grapevine back in the 70s/80s. The lake was our swimming hole. Never gone back that far. Our adventures were mostly around where the Gaylord is now and on up to the Dove Park area. I’ll have to paddle up that way in my new SE 380X. First kayak I’ve ever owned or any boat for that matter. Maiden voyage was at Pilot Knoll last week. Thanks for taking us along. Hope to see you on the water one day.
That is an awesome story, Sean! That explorer is a great, all around very versatile boat.
If it’s some point, do you want to take his versatility to the next level, check out the Bixpy E- Kayak motor

@@KayakCliff It was next-leveled with the Bixpy Skeg Motor at order time 😂 Wife and I motored around Pilot Knoll this past Sunday. Can’t wait to pack the 380X in the Jeep and raft/paddle some rivers/alpine lakes out west (NM, CO, UT, AZ, ID, WY, MT) during our off-road adventures.
That’s what I’m talking about! 👍👍👍
Man, what a fun trip! Wish I had a river that was conducive to this closer to me. Still trying to scope out spots in SoCal for adventures in small boats like this. Thanks again for the great videos!
I would have to imagine that you have some awesome places out on the coast on calm days. Also, any inland lakes, there is usually a feeder river or creek that will feed into it. Those are great to explore.
@@KayakCliff Haven't tried any coastal stuff yet. That's definitely a fun idea! Gone to a few of the lakes around. Haven't found a good feeder river yet, but I'll have to scope that out a little better to see what's around those lakes. Lots of man-made reservoirs around here, so the feeder access is often blocked, unfortunately.
Check with your state parks and wildlife, or any other state sites that highlight paddling trails throughout the state. In Texas, where I live, they have a huge list of state, sponsored, paddling trails, same with Florida. I would have to imagine California is the same.
I am pasting below links, for example.

Just subscribed. I’m enjoying your videos. I’m interested in that little boat and motor. I’m a complete beginner so I’m heavily researching. I had a jet boat decades ago.
Hey Angela, thank you so much for watching in commenting! Here are all of my videos that I have done on the PaddleSki, a truly remarkable, do everything boat! And in each of these videos I’m using it differently.

Man, your videos are awesome and inspiring as always. Interesting to watch, like a movie. Just got 4HP Honda on my Paddleski. It is pretty fast for such a low HP. Also was worried about how far you can go with the internal tank. about 40 minutes. I bought a 3-way valve to get the external fuel tank to go farther. It wasn't equipped with it:(
I only run my 5 hp Honda with an external 3 gallon gas tank. That will get me about 50 miles range. I do not like putting gas in the internal engine tank, because you need to drain it out completely before storing it. I disconnect the hose from my external tank and run all of the gas out of my engine gas lines before packing up.
Hi Cliff! Good to see you out having fun with your dad again! I actually prefer exploring rivers as opposed to big lakes, just find them more interesting. Have you tried the Bixpy motor on the Paddleski? I wonder how good it would push it and if it would allow you to go in shallower water? Keep those videos coming!
Hi there Gil, I have not tried the Bixpy on the PaddleSki. There’s really nowhere to mount it, unless I want to put a skeg receiver on the bottom of one of the pontoons. Next I’m going to put it on the RazorLite and then the fast track. It worked superbly on the explorer.
Take care and safe adventuring out there!
Been looking for a new vid! 👍🏻
Thank you so much for watching, my goal is to get one out a week, might be a while till I get to that point though. For now, let’s try two - 3 a month. Have a great week!
That was a solid performance....it seemed quiet too.
Not my thing but I can see how it can be useful.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Have a great week!
It definitely would be a beaver. They can and do often dig into the side of the shore.
Great to know, thanks a bunch, Mike!
Hi I have a question about the PaddleSki, how is the chair for ergonomics, is it comfortable? I have a sports kayak model from Sea Eagle just to try them out and despite having the deluxe chairs and buying an extra camp chair to put in it etc etc I cannot get comfortable. I am tall and have a long back and I need something that has good back support. I love the idea about having the motor to change out and be able to paddle standing up it seems like it would be a great variety of things I could do, with the more rigid, elevated chair might work for me for ergonomics. Plus, I have two dogs now instead of one and I think that would be plenty of room for us to go out cuz they're big dogs. Lol. Just wondering what you thought on the comfort level of seating? Thanks! Really enjoyed your video,
Hi Heather - Thanks for watching and commenting and sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I find the swivel seats are very comfortable and what is really nice is having the ability to stand up in a stable boat to stretch when needed. Yes, you are right, plenty of room up in the bow for the large dogs!
It also works with the Sea Eagle inflatable seats, but usually, I use the swivel seats. Here are my other videos on the PaddleSki!

Cliff, how much fuel did you burn traveling 14 miles with the Paddle Ski and the 5 HP Honda. I would think the Honda sips the gas.
Hi Gordon, thank you so much for watching and commenting! I have a 3 gallon gas tank in the boat and used just a gallon. I estimate the PaddleSki will go 40 to 50 miles on 3 gallons of gas. Have a great week!
What is the name of that App you use to track? Also, do you know a good app to see how fast you are going? Thanks!
Paddle Logger on the apple App Store. I’m sure it is available on android as well.
QUESTION
Hi cliff
I will try to keep this short
I’m getting older and I’m thinking about getting a sea eagle paddle ski
I now have a wenonah Champlain model canoe which is an awesome canoe with great glide etc.most of the lakes I go to do not allow electric or gas motors.
So my question is does the paddle ski have decent glide / efficiency and I also see the bow sticks up a bit does the wind blow the bow around much. Your comments and your subscriber comments would be greatly appreciated .The main reason I might like it is so I can stand up and cast / stretch out cause I get stoves up in my canoe.
I love my PaddleSki Fred! I have a 6 Hp outboard on mine and use it on the Great Lakes up in Canada. It gets me to the fishing spots quickly and after I cut the motor and paddle in close, the fish don't even know I'm there. I got caught in 5-8 ft waves last fall and it handled the waves like a champ. I never felt endangered in the slightest! I like that I can quickly add the 2nd seat and take my wife for a ride or I can go single-seated and carry a lot of camping gear. If you're looking for a very stable boat that can carry a lot of weight you can't go wrong with the PaddleSki437! As for your question about the raised bow, the only time I got water coming over was that day in huge waves. The great thing is the transom is raised off the bottom of the hull and the water goes out the back almost as quickly as it comes in. You'll never have to bail the boat! I haven't had any wind action affecting the tracking of my boat but I should mention it does paddle with a bit of effort due to the large tubes that make it so stable. Also, the seats are extremely comfortable. I have sciatica and it doesn't bother me in the PaddleSki seats. I took Cliff's suggestion in a video from last year and bought a purple pillow. I love it! I'm using it in my Explorer 380X and I haven't had a sciatica attack since getting it. Can't thank you enough Cliff! Incidentally Fred, I'm 74 years young and do a lot of fishing. I don't stand much but you definitely can in the PaddleSki without feeling tippy! I like the height of the seats. They give me a better view of the water than from a kayak. It's only a few inches but it makes a difference. If you're looking for glide and efficiency you might want to check out some of Cliff's reviews on his various kayaks. While I haven't had a chance yet to try the RazorLite series I belong to several clubs and most of the owners of the Razorlites rave about them! You might want to check them out or contact Cliff on his website for more information. I hope this is helpful Fred!
Thanks Eric! The PaddleSki does kayak paddle, but if all you’re going to do is paddling, and no motoring, I would look at the explorer, as it gives similar stability, and you can stand up in it, but it is a better paddling boat. The absolute best glide ratio would be in the RazorLite 393 RL series.
If you mount the Bixpy motor to the explorer, its glide ratio increases significantly as it turns it into an E kayak. Works well with a RazorLite too!

Thanks

Hi Fred - I don’t see any previous comments, except where you mention that it might be a beaver. Could you re-send?
Hey Fred, I answered your questions at length in your last post. Hope I answered all of them, let me know if you have any other questions.
How much gas did that little Honda use for that trip?
Hey Gene, thank you so much for watching and asking! I just used a gallon of gas. Can’t beat that! That was going full speed the whole time as well.
Those holes are probably nutria!
Thanks for the insight!
What size Honda outboard is that?
Hi 👋 Brad - that is a Honda 5 hp 4-stroke that I am running. Here are the rest of my adventure videos in the paddle ski.

I did have a sailboat but had to trailer it. So I been looking at inflatables and the paddle ski looks like it fits the bill. Not too heavy when pack up for transport able to use a outboard motor and has a bimini. Once at a location how long does it take to set up? Rigging a sailboat take an hour or more for the one I had.@@KayakCliff
@BradSloanvideos
Hi Brad, it literally takes me about 10 minutes to inflate and add the 5 hp outboard motor to the paddle ski. Not long at all until you are ready to go! Take down when you’re done is even quicker! Just qualify, I keep the transom on the boat and just roll it up like a big burrito when I’m done. Works perfectly for me.

Thanks for the info. I just sold a small sailboat. The problem with sailboats is they take so long to rig up then at the end of the day derig them. I am looking to keep boating without having to use a trailer. The PaddleSki look like just the ticket. I was also wondering is I have a rechargeable air pump that I blow up air mattresses. Could I use that with the hose that comes with the hand pump?
@@KayakCliff
@BradSloanvideos
Air Inflation Pumps:
bit.ly/3MjKN9z
Here is a link for the air pumps from Sea Eagle. Your air mattress air pump would not work. You need a two stage powerful air pump that will pump the floor of the paddle ski up to 10 psi, very hard. This is not possible with a normal pump.
Should be a beaver
Thanks Fred!
