do you need the subscription to use live view
?
@@mcspooney You do not.
This is an excellent review.Very thorough Thank You
Happy I was able to help.
Wow, perfect video. Thanks
very thorough, thank you for the review!
Happy to help.
Great review. Can you please advise if i can record on a standalone pc hard drive whilst simultaneously also accessing the camera from mobile app
This camera is menat to be used with the app only. You would not be able to record to a stand alone hard drive.
great review ty... can you shut the camera off if you don't want to record or view it and then turn it back on when you need it ?
There is a privacey mode that can be turned on and off to keep it from recording if that is what you are looking for. But if you unplug it and plug it back in when you want it to record that is an option too. You just would not be able to do that if you were not home.
Very detalied review- it covered everything that l needed to know. Thanks.
Could you review the newer model C225? Im debating between the eufy S220 (which you have reviewed) and the Tapo C225. Both seem to have comparable specs.
Between the eufy and the Tapo - if you had to pick one, which would it be? 😊
TIA.
So I can try to get the C225 to review but that could take some time looking at the specs of it the take away that I can see is 1. the tapo has colored night vision which can be nice if you need it and slightly better resolution. The C220 is smaller and would be simple to hide. But for me I think I would go C225 if I were to buy one today.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews Many thanks! Appreciate your quick response. I've subscribed to your channel. Will keep checking for more :)
Hello, would like to know is there any motion detection and camera len should able to follow that object accordingly?
Yes, and I do demo that here: ua-cam.com/video/EawS28R1EKs/v-deo.html
Thank you
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you found the review helpful.
Does the vertical and horizontal cruise create any audible sound from the tilting on the camera itself?
It does not. I have a raw footage sample video that can be seen here: ua-cam.com/video/EawS28R1EKs/v-deo.htmlsi=dsa2ELtx3q_VuO2R
Nice review. Can you check if swiping the screen or pinching makes the camera respond and navigate ? Thanks
It does not you do have to use the pan tilt controls.
This is a flexible feature that must be part of the interface. Tapo should consider this.
Very detailed review, I would like to know if you can turn off the infrared lights.
You can do this by changing the auto or night mode off. But that is the only way. There currently no way to just turn them off.
Yes you can. By turning off night vision.
@@tinwas_taken Turning off night vision is not the same as being able to turn off the IR lights. There are some cameras that let you keep night vision on but turn off the IR lights.
I need to access this remotely from home as this would be for a shop window. Does it support remote access from home location or over 4G phone connection. I need to monitor real time what is going on at the premises. Thanks
As long as the shop has wifi that the camera can connect to you can access the live view from anywhere through the smartphone app as long as you have a data connection.
Thanks😅
You said the connected to mobile in the home like hotspot, but can it connect to internet for away from home viewing. Thank You.
Yes, the camera itself would be connected to your homes WiFi and as long as you have a phone that can connect to data or wifi while you are out of the house you will be able to access this camera.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews Thats Brilliant thank you very much for your reply.
Does it only work if you are on the same wifi network or can you check in if your out of the house?
You can check it from anywhere as long as you have a data connection on your phone and your home wifi is still up.
After the free 30 day period, can you still use it? I saw a fee reviewers said it's unusable unless you buy a subscription.
I've seen other people say that as well. I wouldn't say it's unusable without the subscription but they do bundle in a lot of the nice and want to have for the camera in that subscription.
It's not unusable. The 30 day trial is for the cloud subscription which backs up all your videos. You can absolutely still use it with and SD card. If you do not have any of those options, you'll only be able to view it live. Hope that helps!
Can you just run a steady record 24/7 through the sd card? I just want it to run all the time in a loop so that if I want to look at a particular moment, I can just scroll to the point in time. It seems as though I can't record 24/7
By default it is set for clips, however it can be changed to do continues recording if that is what you would like.
@@Wanderer001_Reviewshi, if the SD card starts to get full, does the camera delete older footage to make for new footage automatically?
@@Calwinn It does, but you can turn that option off if you don't want it to do that.
I am hesitated between this model and C110. What do you think?
Honestly if you don't need a camera that can move save a little money and get the C110. Myself, in order to keep tabs on my cats I like the C200. I don't have a good place that I can put a camera that can see all areas. So having the camera be able to move is very helpful.
How do you know when somebodies viewing the camera? Like for example, for Wyze, the light turns red for a while when somebody is watching.
There is a status light on the front of the camera that will turn on when recording or someone is viewing the live feed.
@@Wanderer001_Reviewsis there also a way to make it pan/tilt faster?
@@tinwas_taken Yes, this can be seen at 13:37.
Does my phone need to be on the same wifi network to view/rotate the camera? I want to keep an eye while I'm at work
It does not. As long as the camera has wifi access and your phone has access to data you can rotate the camera as needed.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews Perfect! Thank you for the detailed review as you made my decision to order this much easier. I just ordered it along w a 256gb micro SD card on Amazon!
@@Cz007_ Happy I was able to help you out.
Is the night mode Black and White or colourized?
Black and white.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews ahh okay, thanks for the reply!
Is this camera supported by Blue Iris software ?
I have not tested myself, but does look like it: blueirissoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2591
Did it record even not connected on wifi or data?
Only locally.
Can I get the marked locations with Alexa?
At this time does not look like it. I tried a few differnt ways of asking and it just would not do it.
And can it use without the card
Yes, but it is better with SD card use.
Does it connect back to the WIFI automatically if the power goes and comes ?
Yes.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews Thanks
@@Wanderer001_Reviews Also , do we need to subscribe to cloud service to receive Alert notifications ?
@@paritosh944 Only if you want to preview of the clip in the notification. If you can live with a text notification then you can save the money.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews Thanks for the info !
Can I use 125gb cards?
Up to a 256gb card.
i have no prob with video but audio recording is awful, any suggestion.
Can you discribe the audio? Is it dropping in and out, or very low sounding, or maybe staticky?
How do you delete "Marked Points"?
If you long press and hold on the marked position a red X will appear in the upper right corner of the position simply select to delete.
this is Tapo C210 not C200, you can see it on the video in 4:01
You are correct, you are the first person to point out my typo, thank you. The differnce between the 200 and the 210 is that the 210 has 2k video and the 200 only has 1080.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews there are more differences, but lol first to point it out after 10 months.
I'm researching Tapo security cameras and wanted to wait for 220 (can do 1440p/30fps) but I'll most likely go with 200, because 1080p/15fps is lower bitrate which can be useful when on mobile data.
@@novcze I will give you that. For most unless you really need to zoom in and see every frame why not save some money with "HD" and a lower frame rate. I have tested and still use plenty of 1080 cameras and my home network loves me for that.
too fast
I can understand that. I feel a lot of people in their videos talk to slow. Thankfully UA-cam has a option to speed up or slow down someone's video to make them better to understand for you.
