For those who want to know what Collards are a type of cabbage with large, dark green leaves and tough stems. They are a member of the Brassica oleracea species, which also includes broccoli and cabbage. Collard greens are closely related to kale and mustard greens and are prepared in similar ways. So that’s what collard greens are.
8:26 Collard greens are great for your health, but equally awesome is their flavor! Unlike kale and spinach, these don’t have such an extreme bitter taste. Instead, they taste more neutral. Southern greens is just the actual plant and other spices
I love collard greens, cooked with some ham hocks. Oh man, just thinking about it making my mouth drool lol. I enjoy all BBQ but I love people coming from across the pond eating American BBQ. Btw courgette is just a zuchinni which is kinda similar to okra.
We definitely do, if you get the chance try to go to one of the big rib fests, gator bbq is such a great stand and their from my hometown port diver!!!!
In Canada we have many bbq places to get bbq anything in pretty much every city. No where near as good as the states but mid bbq is still pretty awesome lol
Makes sense, cause I moved to Australia 2 years ago and they don't really have this type of food anywhere. Every country is different when it comes to food and it was a bit of a culture shock for me
I actually came to the comments for the answer 😂 I’m a dumb American who’s rarely left my state, let alone the country. And food is different even in the US depending on where you go so I’m genuinely curious, do yall?
@@killer11805 we have some places that try to replicate Texas/Southern style BBQ. Never had authentic southern BBQ though so I’m not sure how it compares
@@callumhayden4772 ROFL - it's a type of cabbage leafy green veggie. We have them with pork and Thanksgiving. They are good when cooked right. Otherwise, it's like eating cardboard.
also nc bbq is some of the best. but it has to be vinegar based sauce on it. its just not the same with a ketchup or mustard based. you have to try it if you havent ever had it. whole hog is arguably the best bbq. you get a little bit of everything in a sandwich if you go to a good place.
collard greens are just collards that are cooked cown in vinegar bacon and red pepper flakes. my wife makes it every thanksgiving and has enough frozen for christmas. its deffinately an aquired taste. she loves them but im not big on them. and collards are a huge green leafy plant. i dont know much more than that.
From the UK myself and I've watch a lot of Beards vid's either through Tim or on his own channel and I can honestly say this BBQ place is 1 of a select few I think I'd travel out of my way to visit next time Im in the US
Would really love if you could link the specific video you watched so it’s easier to give both you and beard a like great vid either way much love !!!!!!
Hearing Tim trying to describe Collard Greens is hilarious. I'm also slightly offended or sad that Tim is not a fan of them. I hope he had them fixed or cooked right because they can easily be cooked wrong. It's all good, they are not for everyone!😎🤤
When it comes to collards, it all depends on who makes them in my opinion. My aunt made the best greens but I’ve gone to a place where they’re well known for them and they were kinda lack luster
I know Timmy will never see this, but can whoever runs this YT channel tell him to get in touch with Beard and organize a meet-up/challenge next time he is in Florida?
I think Beard is a bit picky about who he collabs with. He was just on his podcast saying he didn’t want to collab with one of the biggest if not the biggest UA-cam groups in the UK so I don’t think you’ll see them collab. If it happens cool but I wouldn’t hold my breath tbh
Hey Tim or whips whoever reads this 😂, I live in Port St. Lucie and there’s a food truck over here that moves around and it’s a eggroll truck but they put all sorts of stuff inside like that bbq place you should try it 😂
he sticks to a strict diet along with the gym i think before he said he mainly eats like salads and light stuff throughout the week and really only EATS for his videos
Hah OH TIMMM! Funny enough collard greens are less like spinach and more like cabbage! So it's closely related to broccoli and not spinach! African American people love collard greens, it's considered a major staple in Africa and the South! Usually when you make "traditional" collard greens you use onion, garlic and red pepper flakes which you sauté and then you add in chicken broth and a turkey leg, and simmer everything together. People usually add a little vinegar to it or hot sauce. I love hot sauce with mine. You can also chop up the turkey leg and add that to the greens too, I've even had them with bacon before. Courgette is literally just a zucchini. Courgette is French, but lots of cultures use that term including South Africa, New Zealand, UK and the Dutch. The reason the French called it courgetti is because courgetti literally means little gourd. Zucchini is actually Italian which is what term Americans use. Someone in the comments suggested okra was related to zucchini but that's simply not true lol. But, that's why you have food historians and Chefs vs people on the internet who say whatever they want LMAO
Idk who said okra and zucchini’s are related but no they are definitely not. I think a lot of people confuse them because they often go on the same dishes or have the same mild taste that adjusts itself to whatever dish you add it to.
I make BBQ for a living and I'm watching a man watch a man eat BBQ 😂
Can you please cook these🥩🥩 ? I will pay ofc 💵💵
market research lol
STILL Waiting For The Tim & Beard Collab 🍔🌯🥩💪🏻😂

Pancake vs waffles challenge;)
the fact that he went in full from the last challenge and still completed this one shows how much of a MONSTER Adam is

I love beards commentary during the meal lol he’s funny as hell.
When British people say courgette... they mean zucchini... it's one of those words that is completely different. LOVE your reactions!!! 😍😍🥰🥰
The word Zucchini is from the Italian language
Collard, mustard & turnip greens are sooooo good when cooked with a hamhock, omg. You can even mix them together and they are outstanding.
Carolina bbq is unmatched
8:26 Collard greens are great for your health, but equally awesome is their flavor! Unlike kale and spinach, these don’t have such an extreme bitter taste. Instead, they taste more neutral. Southern greens is just the actual plant and other spices

BBQ started by burring it in the ground and it heats and cooks it
Love when the Fat Electrician does these videos!
Personally I grew up in Texas so the barbecue and Tex mex I would get there was top tier
Heck yea!
I can definitely do that 😂 I have a fast metabolism 🤤

We got a smittys BBQ restaurant here in Georgia
