I am addicted to this brand of guitar playing. Carlos will always rank as one of the best guitarists ever.
hello
@@BRecuyer Hello, BR. Hope all is well. I am a singer/songwriter. Check out my music on UA-cam. Thanks and take care.
Prince’s favorite guitarist. That, alone, speaks volumes about this guy
You can tell when someone puts their soul into music. Gracias Carlos.
Good!
Gary Moore was like that, putting everything he had inside, into his playing. And you can feel every note..
Something I notice about the way Carlos plays is that he uses silence to his advantage. Sometimes, the best parts of his solo is when he stops playing to let what he just played set in for a second. That's something that every musician can learn from, the usefulness of silence.
Eric Clapton famously said, it is the gaps that make blues great.
This concert is the greatest ever day in WATSONVILLE!
Amen. The space between the notes is very important.
Extronic - the best parts of Santana’s solos are always when he stops playing
I love this so so much I can listen over and over.SONYA
I love how Carlos can mix it up...passionate romantic solo, to rock, blues and wherever his soul takes him.
Santana is so iconic that you can recognize him after playing only one note
So true
Undoubtedly!!
Carlos is special, in every way. Talent, style, humanity.....one of the best ever. Here with his talented friends, Los Lobos.
As far as I'm concerned he is thebest, never tire of his music
Guitar plays the feeling that comes from the soul. Peace and good
An absolute legend
I could and can listen to him any time anywhere
I never understood why Santana never made a jam or an album with David Gilmour. It would be unbelieavable;)
Ronaldo Thomé Júnior I’m glad I’m not the only who thought that!
@@berniebernhardt1898 yYqhqqhhqh
Any speaker that tried to play that would melt and every woman in a 100 mile radius from the epicenter of the event would be spontaneously impregnated
Too many A players
It would be like heroin. Too far out there.
Even the security guys can’t help but groove along a little. Goood vibes
Ha
A mis 64 años Santana hace rejuvenecer mi espíritu.
Gracias x tomar en cuenta mls reflexiones
Seen him at Woodstock and Syracuse War Memorial. The Best. Seen him and Buddy Miles in Syracuse drag strip with Ten Years After and Deep Purple in the 60’s early 70’s
I'm 70 this month and this guitar just is Stupendous
One thing I've always liked about Carlos you can tell her really puts his heart into his music
Ooouiiio on tbbvggh hi bbhhh no bbb be by vñnb he knew o mkkk was intentional or nkln j my way it y it

Looks like someone's child got onto their UA-cam account and mashed a bunch of random letters and then the word intentional haha
I agree Samuel. Fuck the police.

@@gloriakramm3817 Santana play good music!
Y’all are the epitome of “the power of music” 🎶🎸🥁‼️
Damn...that’s three kick ass guitar players! Didn’t know the boys from Los Lobos could play the blues like that!
Ohhh is THAT who they are? I was gonna ask
I was born In Watsonville! Only been back there a few times. My grandfather taught a class at the Christian school there.
Always gives me chills
I LOVE the intro, spanish guitar is really something I need to get into
Santana can swear and scream his head off without opening his mouth ... he uses his guitar to do that - I have seen the same touch with Jeff Beck too - incredible musicians
P
Some of the world's best strummin', pickin', and wailing ever heard.
AMEN brother thats beautiful mexiblues i take this version play it THRU a knock off JBL BLUE TOOTH ITS SEMI LOUD ENUFF AND PLAY ALONG WITH IT GREAT FUN GOOD LOCKDOWN MAKEBELIVE JAM BANDS GOOD PRACTICE RIGHT????
"Concerto para Aranjuez" é sempre lindo / "Concerto for Aranjuez" is always beautiful.
Everytime this guy and his band come close to St Louis I go and see them. 1st time was in the '70s and just saw him again in St Louis with the Doobie Brothers 2 weeks ago and it was freaking unbelievable. He brought out the Doobie Bros and they did an awesome ad lib set of songs that was not rehearsed at all and they ROCKED THE HOUSE DOWN! Stayed til the last note! Man was it good! After they had played most of the night, his wife did a drum solo that puts every drummer I have ever heard to shame. She is a master of the kit. I have played in rock bands for the last 45 years and that lady can drum for me anytime. She is damn good! Loved it Cindy Blackman! You go girl!!!
Wow I'm went to Watsonville High School and never heard that Santana played at WHS. I was living in Santa Clara at this time of this concert and sure wish I was there.
My grandma is in her 70s but she was at woodstock not sure and she seen the beatles
who cares?
Wow no one cares
the intro is the Joaquín Rodrigo- Concerto d'Aranjuez , a classical Guitar one
Fr
you should also listen to the Miles Davis version of the concerto dÀranjuez
Maestro Rodrigo
correct, and a beautiful piece of music.
ja ck funny, I thought it was the intro to Chick Corea Spain. Thanks for enlightening me!
Carlos eres lo maximo.Desde Panama nuestro saludo!!!
ATTENTION: This Videoclip SHOULD be at TOP CHARTS for EVER and EVER.
I stumbled across this and was reading the comments about the differences between Rosas and Hidalgo. To me Hidalgo seems to be more at home in the blues than Rosas, also his tone is spot on. Partly because of technique, partly because of amp choice and never under estimate the warmth and growl of the rosewood fretboard. All my guitars have rosewood fretboards for that very reason...TONE and SUSTAIN.
Hidalgo is the name of the Indian guitar master with the blue tele?
This is what you call music not the crap they play now a days it sucks I'm glad I lived to see all these guys live
this is the best god damn guitar playing I've heard in a while.
Carlos did a magic stuff with his guitar.Legendary Guitarrist .
Santana is the most beautiful of guitarist love him playing with passion /,,/
One of the top videos ever made 🎸, Thank😍you👏
That,s Caesar Rosas in the black shades and David Hidalgo in the black T-Shirt, both from Los Lobos!
Almost six decades of performing. 💥🎸🎸🎸
I could just feel it when Santana started to play...
This was a benefit concert in my hometown Watsonville California held at the high school (Watsonville High) after the 1989 loma prieta earthquake
The gys playing with Carlos are Los Lobos ......... awesome guitar players in their own right.
I like how they got a shot of the younger crowd rolling hard asf
What I like the most about this video is that here it isn't the intro Maria Maria..as it's being used in the 21th century..
All geat art is about force and silence. Zen is always the way. What ever i think he his humbled by the music.
Our wonderful year is so beautiful playing
The 2nd cat who played @ 6:00 did it for me. He came through clean...
Agreed. Not into straight pentatonic riff but he sorted it out
@@randallpaulactor That wasn't straight pentatonic riffing. Heavily based there, but you could hear modes.
That's David Hidalgo. Badass player who loves a good Tele.
@@uglytuco3829 Thank you, That's that wonderful Tele Twang!
Hidalgo was the guy that day
With Los Lobos joining him here, Watsonville high school what a concert this was.
That was me there on 6:45 with my mom :)
so cool
great mom!!
That must be a Fantastic story to tell
Prove it
@@777theneighborofthebeast9 💀💀💀LOL
I was one month old then, but I’m finally back here
I love Los Lobos! Can never get enough!!
yeah the second guy, clean and driving, building, fluent and composed, constructed, and that lovely '74 tele . . .
That high E string is flat though :(
Musical beat notes coming from my heart ❤️🎶 Fantástico!!!

The guy on the pale violet telecaster killed it!

I agree
70 and loving this guitar bluezzzzy stupendous
i keep coming back because i love it. and to see those people tripping on lsd in the crowd really get in the music.
Totally.
Looks like the Dead were in town
Im only 17 but i know good music
concerto dinaranzuez is a beautiful.song that I heard in 1978 by jim.hall jazz guitarist. And NOW CARLOS WITH HIS LENGENDERY STYLE ACTUALLY MADE CONCIERTO DI.ARANQUEZ TAKE MY SOUL.TO.ANOTHER DEMENSION. THANKYOUCARLOS!!!
pretty cool moment at 2:30 Santana is setting up for the 12 bar progression and everyone comes to a halt, notice how he turns around and plays the backing track for his key because they have no idea whats next!
ACTUALLY, they picked it up for him... letting him know to *JAM ON...*
BUT STILL: total understanding from all musicians... in an instant. GREAT STUFF
Love that intro!!!Best guitar intro i have ever heard , it is sentimental as fck, i almost cry 😿
It is his adaptation of a classical piece called Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo. You can also find a slightly different version of it on The Santana Brothers CD.
Santana, você é o máximo.👏🏻👏🏻🤭
This a good video for comparing pickup tones. A PRS with humbucker, strat with singles and a tele with p90s all stand out for what they are.
The power of blues
Santana.... 1 of the guitar GREATS
The "guitar solo" portion is actually "Concierto de Aranjuez".
+EpicConcerts thats at the beginning
yes a d it's my favorite classical guitar piece. u know which came first arenjuez or Malaguena
Joaquin Odriozola .no
EpicConcert
It's adopted by Lebanese famous singer Fairuz, the song is Le Beirut...
Nothing short of EPIC. Rock on Carlos!
the opening, note for note, is from joaquin rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez
Santana came to Puerto Rico some years ago and he call to the stage my son Carlitos in his wheelchair ,showing his kindness,so respect this legend and our music.Probably mister enjoy6141 the tortilla chip is your brain,if you got any.
WOW WHAT A SHOW ! UNREAL
Another phenomenal guitar play!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Such good music!!
Love from Africa 🙏❤🎸🎵🎶♩
The keyboard player is Chester Thompson he also played with tower of power
The 80s seemed to be Santana’s peak at live performance guitar playing.
El mejor guitarrista del MUNDO...
Y Gilmour 😜👽
That G&L Tele that David is playing flat out blew away the other guitars on stage IMHO! :-0
Beautiful
Live to see these guys now...2020
DAAAAAANMMMM I'm 15 years old and this is amazing😢😢😢
2019!!!!
I like to play this when I wait, bus stations, outside restaurants, sometimes just sitting on a bench in a park seeing people go about there lives
UM DOS MELHORES GUITARRISTAS DE TODOS OS TEMPOS.
I'm 70 and love his guitar
Tough crowd . I think it sounds pretty darn good . Great tune , nice cover . Ask Amy W.
2022 still rocking this the best 🇲🇽🇩🇴👍🏽
OUTSTANDING!
Went from classic to awesome. Nothing like it. Mix a little classic Spanish guitar. With good ole southern Texas blues. That lefty got it going on.
Yes the blues is mágic!!
That guy with the fender saved the show. God knows what people love Santana for.
+Leuken Hopper thats his son
@@TymphaRedbreaduwuowo that's not Carlos' son
@@AbstractMan23 yeah you'll have to forgive me, im really dumb
i am left handed to but every time i saw a lefty playing the guitar i react like:
how he can play the guitar like that omg its backwards
Left handed like Jimi was
Lefty gang!
