    I am thoroughly enjoying your videos with Marley. I appreciate the collaboration with other horseman you trust in “dialing it in” with her. Ryan you are a wonderful trainer and selfless UA-camr sharing these folks with us.

    Loving the progress with this mare. She shows a lot of will and honesty, especially after the trail obstacles you did with her for the first time, to now working with someone else new and offering compliance and some feel. What a testament to your method of horsemanship!
    Just wanted to add that around 6:26, the audio absolutely ramps up and sounds super blown out. I had to turn the volume way down to be able to understand what Jake was saying, and even then it was hard. By 13:08 the audio returned to normal and the video was much easier to listen to/understand. Best of luck, and love the videos, Ryan!

    I knew this collaboration was in our future. I think it's fabulous Jake and you can help support each other and teach us great Horsemanship. What a perfect person to help you in the final month of your journey to Magic. If there's anyone that can help get a horse ready for a competition Jake is a great friend to have. You have done such a beautiful job with this complicated mare. She's lucky you picked her (or maybe she picked you). I was going to suggest Jake sign up for Mustang Champions next year :-)

    I would love to see Jake do a mustang makeover competition! I would not want it to be one that you are in too because I wouldn't know who to root for lol. Perhaps someday when neither of you have anything better to do, you two can do your own as a friendly competition. 😉

    Lick and chew does not mean they are "relaxed". It means that they are nervous. That absolutely drives me nuts when I hear people teaching the lick and chew means relaxing. Ask Pat Puckett about it.

    • @Goldenhawk583
      @Goldenhawk583 18 годин тому +1

      where are your videos? I always thought it was better for them to release the tight mouth by licking and chewing, but you prefer the tight mouth?
      edit for spelling

    • @teri6193
      @teri6193 17 годин тому

      The issue is it can also mean they are nervous but does not negate the fact they are relaxed. It just depends on the horse's personality and how they demonstrate what's going on in their head and how they are feeling. Like people they express their feelings differently.

    • @PetPrepRadioShow
      @PetPrepRadioShow 16 годин тому

      @teri6193 you can't be nervous and relaxed at the same time 😁 appreciate your thoughts though. And horses they do not express their feelings that differently. horses are horses. Speak the language and you're pretty much golden.

    • @teri6193
      @teri6193 15 годин тому +1

      @@PetPrepRadioShow who said anything was happening at the same time?? Training regardless of species is the same. It's all individual. There's a probability that a relaxed hose will chew, but nothing is 100%. I was responding to the woman who was confused and not understanding that she had learned differently. The worst thing a trainer can do is believe every horse (animal) is the same.

    • @PetPrepRadioShow
      @PetPrepRadioShow 14 годин тому

      @teri6193 I think there is a misunderstanding. When horses chew it is a sign of nervousness and anxiety. It does not mean that they are relaxed. Whoever has been teaching that is wrong. It's an injustice to the horse when they are anxious and people think they aren't and you try to teach something. Have you ever tried to learn something when you're nervous and anxious? Horses and people process anxiety and fear just the same way and in the same part of the brain. There's research to support this statement and this is why using horses for people with PTSD and other mental health challenges works so well. All due respect. We are all here to learn about the horse and to be fair to the horse. Peace 🕊️
