    What an absolutely beautiful bracelet, I have been thinking of doing an ombre bracelet and I just love that you started and ended with the clear crystal beads! You could also do one that slowly goes from orange to yellow to green to blue to purple to pink and put and maybe put a pride related charm on it or just leave as is! I really love how straightforward your instructions were, thank-you!❤

    Your tutorial is very good. I learn something new, by creating the loop first than the finished end you attached the button. This was where I always struggled because I never had enough for the loop. Excellent video! Thank you for sharing.

    Thank you for sharing this. The bracelet is beautiful. I made one as I watched you, with many pauses and some going back and looking. I missed something at the beginning and did not cut my cord long enough, but it was good practice, so, next time, hopefully, I will not make the same mistakes. Thank you again.

    Hi there, I'm here comparing this technique to another one I found in a book. It is with 2 strands of the thread and you go through the bead from each side crossing them than thread goes under the leather on each side and pull the bead up taught. I think it's much easier and u don't need to use a needle. I tried your method after learning this way, and it's a lot smoother and faster and easier.

    To ONeil Sisters
    I ordered 2 (two) 5 wrap bracelets with lapis lazuli beads from a woman in China, they cost $35.00 US each, that included shipping. it took about 30 days to arrive, and the beads are tiny seed beads. I was not happy but stuck with them. Your video has shown me how to do this my self in order to get what I wanted to begin with at a much more reasonable price. Thanks for the video😘

    Very nice tutorial, I came across this "formula" (do not recall where) for measuring leather cord you will need for any wrap bracelet. Measure your wrist +number of wraps you want (2 or 5) x 2 (cord which is doubled) + *4 to 6" (depending on closure)= amount of leather cord you will need. Example 7" (wrist) x 3 (wraps)= 21" x 2 (cord doubled)=42 "+ 5" extra Total leather cord (I round up) 48"/36"= 2 (1 1/3) yds of leather cord. *NOTE: Depends on size of button being used AND how you decide to finish the end of the bracelet-knots (more than one so it is adjustable); silk wrap; leather barrels (Tierra Cast and I AM NOT A SPOKESPERSON) etc. I have been beading for over 20 years and continue to learn and be inspired. I enjoy the process and appreciate all the bead sharing communities. Hope this is helpful and my math is correct! As with anything measure twice, cut once. P.S. Cord leftovers-depending on cord mm, I will use to silk wrap (I use leftover beading thread, or leather cord .5mm to 1mm) and I have made button closures one end attaches to button the other attaches to bracelet (looks like an S which is wrapped in the center leaving both ends open), leftovers work great as well especially for that one large hole bead you just had to have!!!

    How do you calculate how much leather if you are making gifts and different wrist sizing?

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  4 роки тому

      Great question Janis. One easy trick is to use a tape measure. Wrap it around your wrist as many times as you need then note the length. Double the length for this style of bracelet and add 8" for the clasp.

      I just take my leather, fold it in half and wrap it around my wrist, then I add 4-6 inches for the loops and closures. If the beads are above 6mm I add on another 1-3 inches depending on how big the beads are. I know that my wrist is about 6 3/4 inches so I measure as I go to be safe I don't make it too big or small.

    Beautiful bracelet. What size were the crystals? 4mm?

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  5 років тому

      We used 100 8mm round faceted crystal beads, but you can really use whatever size you'd like. You'll just need to add more beads if they are smaller than 8mm so the bracelet still wraps around your wrist four times. Hope yours turns out great!

    Hi, I’m not sure if you will see this, I realize the video is a couple of years old. I absolutely love this and want to try, but had 2 questions. First, would this work using 7x5 crystal rondelle beads? Also in the video it says you are “going over” the right cord, but it looks like you are bringing the needle under it? And you aren’t piercing the cord, correct? Sorry for all the questions, I’ve never tried anything like this before! Thank you so much! Danielle from CA.

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  6 років тому +2

      Great questions Danielle! That size bead should work. Try it! At 5:51 in the video, the needle/thread go over the cord, then come back under the cord. So yes we are going over, then coming back under. Does that make sense? Correct that you do not pierce the cord with the needle. Set up your cords and beads and try it. It will make more sense when you are actually doing it. And if you have any other questions, we are here to help. Just leave another comment.
      Good luck!

    How do you keep your bracelet from twisting as you go?

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  7 років тому +1

      If you thread it evenly, going from one side to the other, back and forth, it shouldn't twist. Sorry that's not more helpful. Maybe don't pull the thread too tight? J&K

  • @karenfavreau6268

    What did you do with the beading cord at the end where you added the button? All I could see was the leather cord being tied.

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  5 років тому +1

      To secure the end, we went back through the last bead twice and tied off the thread with a double knot. Then we added a dab of glue to each thread knot in the bracelet and let them dry. We trimmed all the tails of thread. Then we removed the masking tape from the bottom of the clipboard. We took the 2 cords in one hand and tied a knot as close to the last bead as possible. We slid the shank button onto one cord, then tied both cords in another knot and trimmed the ends. Hope that helps!

    Can you show how you thread the needles? I bought the supplies you list and use the needle threader, but when I try to pull that fireline thread through, the wire breaks off the tab it's connected to. Either that, or the needle bends! Very frustrating. It takes the fun out of the project.

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Debbie, We thought we answered your question last week but it must have gotten lost in the ether. We have discovered a new kind of beading needle that we love. It is called a Big Eye Beading Needle. Here's what they look like. amzn.to/2BTs0lJ Very easy to thread. They don't last all that long since they are very flexible. So we just consider them one project needles.
