do you think it's possible to create an effective sliver control deck? maybe utilizing a combo between telekinetic sliver, dormant sliver, and psionic sliver? Hibernation sliver as pseudo protection, and crystalline sliver as further protection? The printing of once upon a time allows you to dig deep into your deck and search for copies of specific creatures for free on turn 1, and if you're running more cantrips and tempo based cards like vapor snag, cards like traverse the ulvenwald is even good for further searching for specific slivers. Opposition has historically been a very powerful card and telepathic sliver is essentially that but slightly bumped down a power level unless you're running slivers.
Sorry about the late reply! Apparently UA-cam comments weren't set up as notifications anymore. I think it's definitely possible, however I don't believe it would be the most optimal approach to Slivers, especially in the current meta. Slivers are great at being aggressive, flexible, and hold the potential to combo out. While control slivers is a blast, it takes a good few turns to set up, and folds to removal quickly.
Hey man great content lately!! I’ve been using that poisonous sliver build ever since you recommended it in the comments of your last mtg vid, and MAN has it been successful!! Thanks, keep up the great work!!
Thanks! And I'm glad it's been paying off well for you. How do you feel about the deck so far? Are there any big things that stand out to you? I've built it myself and I've found it much more explosive yet a bit less consistent than other builds so far, but man is it fun playing Force of Negation.
Purple Gaming I absolutely love playing the deck. Being able to interact is a huge upside to the old build. Plus the excess of protection with a playset of both unsettled mariner and diffusion makes it extremely hard to deal with the speed of virulent. Something that I haven’t seen anybody else even talk about but that I’ve been successful recently with, is running a few copies of vedalken aethermage against heavy removal matchups and using aether vial to put it in response to a path or bolt to keep valuable slivers like a lord or a virulent depending on the draw. Other than that I think the article did a perfect job outlining the reasons to run what’s in there and it’s been a super fun deck to run anytime I’ve played it!
Purple Gaming yeah, what I’ve found is that this build of the deck is really all about protecting your important slivers and vedalken aethermage is just another way to do that on top of diffusion and unsettled mariner. It’s super versatile since it has flash you can tap land or a vial for it and it’s blue so it’s an easy exile for force. The only setback is that it’s not a sliver so you have to have an island or ancient ziggurat to cast it but the same is true for phantasmal image and we get that off just fine
What do yall think about a spiteful sliver in there? Force the attack and they either take the damage, and if Virulent is out they get the poison counters not to mention and if they block they still take the damage their creature dealt to yours, you just might lose a creature but your getting the damage off right? Just a thought let me know what yall think. Appreciate any feedback. Also spiteful opens the door to blasphemous act so you can hit your slivers and all their creatures for 13 and inflict 13x however many slivers ya got out.
@@noitsjustcody I subbed, I was honestly shocked how little subscribers you have and it's a shame. I thought you were a well known established youtuber based off of your content. You deserve more subs man. Lemme know if you try out a build with spiteful In it. If you would make any major changes or just fiddle with the numbers of some cards to wiggle either just the spiteful or both that and blasphemous act. Thanks for replying keep up the awesome content 👌🏼
I seriously appreciate that, so thank you! And I'll be sure to keep you in the loop on Spiteful Sliver. I've had my eye on him for some time now, especially with Blasphemous Act in mind.
@@noitsjustcody I was testing the deck out through proxies, I've had issues getting flooded with a lot of mariner or phantasmal, so I just dropped the mariner completely put the phantasmal at a 2, and removed the 2 dismember, and replaced them with 4 copies of striking sliver, 2 copies of sentinel sliver and 2 spiteful atm. Havent tested it yet but o felt striking sliver was a must, whether 4 or 3, the 1 drop for first strike is a lil to important to me, especially earlier game dont have to worry about deathtouch, and the sentinel for vigilence cause itll help you play more aggressively because you dont have to worry about not being able to defend and with first strike that can be a great offensive and defensive in itself. And the spiteful to help push those poison counters through. I will look into the use of more green cards to help get more use of poisonous counters more. Let me know what you think of those changes. I felt like 8 cards for counter removal was a bit too much, so correct me of I'm wrong because I very well could be, but I kept diffusion at a 4 , not sure if diffusion effect stacks or not. That's the only reason I kept him at 4 because 2 of him would be plus 4 mana they'd need to counter. Imma play test it some and look for more green poison support
and If champion of the parish is fatal pushed, pathed, dismembered, lightning bolted, urupt decayed and so on champion of the parish is no longer on the field. lol. I get what your saying about the slivers losing the plus though.
I have not heard from you for a while. Thank you for the slivers update and the new download option. :D
I'm glad to be back! Editing on this video took a lot longer than anticipated lol. Hope the update is useful!
Great video! Bant deck looks really fun
Thanks! And from what I've played it's worth the try. Poison is seriously fun.

Oh yeah, and vedalken aethermage works with force of negation
Oh my god Vedalken Aethermage?? That is the spiciest inclusion I think anyone's ever thought up in modern slivers.

Love this posting it to the Facebook group
Damn, ya beat me to it lol
The bant deck in the decklist is the 5 color is what it is...
Triome lands will be interesting in the updated deck build.
Are all these cards still legal? The phantasmal image and the green one drop sliver with poison counters? Also i subscribed thanks for the content
As far as I'm aware.
I just made an updated video last week too. Check it out for some more ideas!
Great video mate! Keep it up!
Thank you! Biggest project I've tackled so far, but I'm happy to spread the word of The Hive.
Nice video brother

I never even thought about using Spiteful to get Poison counters through! That sounds like a very potential sliver to throw in there.

Also true haha, but damn are slivers sad when another sliver dies, amirite?
Good shit man
Thanks dude! Keep an eye out for an update deck tech vid in the next month or so
