Went today to extend visa exempt stamp & your instructions were perfect. As well, the ladies working there couldnt have been nicer. Only problem was to find an actual entrance to the place that wasnt locked up at 8:30! Finally got in & with the help of a lift, I ended up where I should have been. Only took about 75 minutes from beginning to end. Thanks again Wayne; you saved me a lot of grief!

I done it many years ago in Phuket but going to Bangkok for 2 months and thought about doing it from home as I did before but that's more expensive and it was quite easy on site(as your video show)

Thanks bro, this was super helpful. I was worried about whether it would be a difficult process but I was all done after only an hour. UK citizens don't need to bring anything except your passport, everything else is supplied there at the IT square immigration.

Very helpful as I was looking for an airplane ticket for mid July and the 60 days visa "extendtion" isn't implemented yet. So I'll have to watch your video one more time in august to obtain my 30 more days in paradise. (I hope to cross your path, we could go for a smoke !)

Just a small technicality but as an Aussie you are stamped in visa exempt for 30 days, meaning you don't have a visa. Visas are applied for outside of Thailand at an embassy or consulate before travelling. Very helpful video just the same. Enjoying your adventures and keep up the good work, regards from Isaan
Ohhhh ok. That makes sense. I know we're visa exempt but I thought that meant we didn't have to apply for one and were just given a 30 day tourist visa. Thank you though, I appreciate it.
@@wayneosadventuresIt was like that before but from the information I've gotten you can now extend visa exempt also for 30 days... It's only if you want 90 days you need to do 60 day visa from home.

Just a stamp at the airport. You don't need to have a ticket booked out of there either. Everytime I've come here it's been on a 1 way ticket.

is it compulsory to have Thai number? I use my Australian number over there with Vodafone ($5 a day ) but have never stayed past 30 days but I will be next year , cheers
Someone asked this the other day and I'm not really sure if it's compulsory. I've just always had one because I get a tourist SIM when I arrive.

Do it any time between now and your last day. It won't matter. It gets extended from the date stamped in your passport not the date you get it extended.

Possibly. With an Aussie passport you can only do this extension once. After that you have to leave the country and come back. There's visa run services available that'll drive you across the border and back in 1 day.

The day before it expires is fine. The first time I done it I was about 2-3 days from the expiration

I can't remember exactly but I know it was after their lunch break. The office closes for 1 hour over lunch and I was there after that. I got very lucky this time I think. Was not busy at all.

I plan to fly to Bangkok I have a UK passport, do I need to have a return flight booked in advance? And what’s this about 30+15 days then this is the +30 days right?

I'm not 100% sure if you have a UK passport but I can tell you that on an Aussie passport, I didn't need to have a return flight booked. I doubt a hostel will matter you'll just need to put the address of that hostel on the form I showed in this video.

Either pay the 1900 for the extra 30 days and just stay for the 5. Or cop the fine at the airport as you're leaving. It's 500 baht a day that you overstay.

This will probably be it for the visa videos. It's been close to a year but I either stay for the 30 days or 60 days that I'm allowed. Then I leave and come back for another 30/60.

It'll be from the 25th. Whatever date is stamped in your passport. 30 days from then.
Is there a limit on how many times you can extend in the year? Or is it similar to when you arrive for stamp and at the officials discretion?
Pretty sure it's unlimited but you can only do it once per visit. I've done it 3 times so far and no one has said anything to me about me reaching a limit of how many times I can do it.
Hey the TM 6 departure form requirement is no longer. Cuz I didn't get one at all 3 weeks ago and I see it's on their form... cuz Thailand takes YEARS to update forms created on Microsoft Word :)
I noticed this on the form too so where it asks for the TM 6 departure/arrival card number do you just write N/A and ill be good to go

I personally have always booked a one way ticket. They've never asked me to show proof of onward travel. I usually buy it when I'm getting close to the end of my stay and just pick the cheapest flight available to another country.

Not sure mate. I didn't need one. No one ever asked me about it.
If they do ask you about that (which they probably won't) just tell them you're travelling and will fly out of another country like Cambodia, Vietnam etc.

1) I have to take a round-ticket within those 30 days (show proof of leaving the country)
2) Once in Thailand ask for an extended stay of 30 days*
3) if accepted, I can cancel my return and book a new flight out of the country within the 30 extra days.

I didn't even have to show a round ticket. I went on a one way every time. When you arrive you have 30 days. You can pay 1900 baht and extend that for another 30. After that you need to leave Thailand and come back. You'll then get another 30 that can be extended again for 1900. You can leave and come back unlimited times via air but only 2 times per calendar year over sea/land.
You can get the extension any time in your 30 day period. One time I got it on the 2nd day and another time I done it on the last day.
my visa ends on 8 dec and i come to bangkok on 11 oct , so i can get extra 30 days by going to IT square ?

then travelled up to Chiang Mai, Pai etc because I land crossed by bus from Malaysia its only 15 day visa by memory
Yeah, I've seen advertisments for "visa run services" where they pick you up, take you across the border and back again but this option is much cheaper haha.

I’m confused about the phone number you have to have a Thai number to extend?
I'm not 100% sure if it HAS to be a Thai number but when you're here, especially for a month or more you'll probably end up getting a tourist SIM and that will give you a Thai number. Just put that one down.

I'm not doubting you at all. But I went there today intendedning on extending my 60 day toursit visa by another 30 days. However . The rather unfriendly and somewhat volatile woman said they couldn't do it there and that I had to go to chaeng wattana second floor . building b ! Proper confusing .
I think it's because I should've titled the video how to extend your visa exemption. Maybe the 60 day one is different.

I put the address of the place I was at most recently. I just done it again today and put the address of my accommodation that I had booked for 3 nights. That's it.

A couple of people have asked about that. I've done this extension 3 times now and every time I've just gone there and used the 3 forms on the desk. Where it asks for my address I just put the address of what ever hotel or Airbnb I'm staying in at the time. I've never had any issues.
Can I still apply if I overstay for a day?
Not sure. You might be able to and then they'll just make you pay the 500 baht fine for the day over. I'm really not 100% sure. Better off going in to find out before the 1 day turns in to 2 or more.

You might be able to find someone to help you but I doubt they'll fill it all out for you. Wouldn't surprise me if there's some kind of service you can pay for and someone will walk you through it.

Yeah that's it. The amount of times you can do it apparently depends on the person that you give your passport to at the airport when they stamp it. I've done it about 4 times so far. No issues.

I don't know from memory but if you don't have it written down, when you go to the first tables to show them the papers they'll tell you where to put it.
