Or did he? Bare in mind whenever he gets killed he wakes up one day and finds himself back in bed with no one remembering him dying. The only clue given to what they do remember is they thought Kenny ran away or something. He could have gotten shot and killed and they could have remembered it as him running from the gunfire.

This is hilarious social commentary, I've seen it a dozen times and it's still hilarious, everyone in South park acting like the only sane person is acting crazy.
But she also kind of didn't care until it affected her....Now she's driven to near insanity over what everyone else is beyond desensitized to.
The show itself is also acting like she is crazy for caring about dead kids, hence the music

Not really, in the ending it turned out she was only acting that way because she was on her period. When the period was over, she didn't care that Stan was shot.
She got needlessly upset and didn't even care about the maths quiz.

The way the mom reacted is the way America reacted to columbine. The way the dad reacted represents our reactions to school shootings now. At least that’s my interpretation.
Powerpig 02 I think its more that she is reacting the way we should be reacting. Where as everyone else is representing the rest of society who normalise/ ignore these events.

@@Will-jl1oz It's because media coverage actually increases the risk of school shooting according to studies. The more teens who are depressed are being exposed to such coverage the more they are likely to do the same thing. Of course it's sad but we still shouldn't cover it as much as we do.

The study I mean was done by Jennifer Johnston and Andrew Joy, it was titled "Mass shootings and the media Contagion effect"
It states that those who commit mass shootings often have revenge fantasies and are very likely to be mentally ill in some degree, but they also tend to send messages to big media corperations before the shooting to get the attention they are seeking for.
@CJ Em Was the political jab truly necessary? I fail to see how people becoming desensitized to mass shootings can be solved by 500+ non scientists. Ironically, the current increase of shootings will likely lead to a decrease later on. Quite a few of these twisted individuals have illusions of infamy. These individuals clearly have never heard of the Law of Diminishing Returns. We're almost at that point, where a school can get shot up, and it'll barely get a mention unless it happens in a large media market. The tragic part is that thousands of people had to be murdered to get to that point. So making this a left v. right issue solves nothing. It's a fallacy. I would hope that people can rise above the tribalism of the day and look at this problem with reason and logic. There are literal lives on the line if we can't figure out a definitive way to stop these shootings. I hope that you can be part of the solution.
