Hi Russ, I’m enjoying your travels. I have run this route so many times. In 1967 I travelled from Springfield IL to LA Cal. on Route 66 all the way. A most memorable trip. In recent years on my annual visit to AZ as a snowbird I have passed the Stafford Museum and always wanted to stop. Thanks for the tour and next time I’m going to stop and take a look personally. I was an engineer at McDonnell aircraft and worked on the Gemini Project and worked at Cape Kennedy. I met the Then Col. Stafford who lived close by me. He was then on the Gemini project also. We met at the local KFC store to pick up chicken occasionally. I worked with several other of these very brave and adventurous pioneers in space. A great experience in my life that was a privilege to be a small part of. So again, thanks for the tour and the memories it brought to my mind. Safe travels to you. I hope you have a great time with family. 👍🏻🙏🇺🇸
The aircraft with the rotary gun is the A10 warthog. It's a modern plane providing ground support for our folks in combat. I realized when you said it was a good plane in its day you were unaware. All the other ground displays were relics from the Viet Nam days and they were great planes also.
It's amazing that you can get up at dawn and hit the road. Maybe 11 if we're lucky with 4 kids...Can't wait to stop here next time onI40. Enjoy the family time! Thanks for taking us along!
Hello Russ you did a good job on the video a long enough time for us to view the exhibits but not too much time and everything look beautiful keep up the good work and have a good day bye-bye
Being the old guy I am, I’ve witnessed the creation of all the space items. Remember everyone sitting out at night to watch Sputnik fly over. Had the opportunity to actually see the guts of a Gemini capsule and how it was made. Listen, it took real guts to fly in that baby. The benefit of being older ... actually traveled the real Rte 66 before Interstates were ever built. Thanks for the memories stimulus.
Arthur Leslie Amen, brother. We have lived through some interesting times. Things seemed so much simpler back then. Sixty years from now today’s youngsters will be telling their grandchildren the same thing, lol.
Yes my baby nickname was Sputnick, I remember the good old days before interstates too! No color TV, No FM radio, no laser beams, no microwaves, and the food tasted better. Gasoline was 22 cents a gallon, and a Coke cost a nickel, no such thing as coke in the can.
This museum deserves more publicity. It is really well done and very large. I have enjoyed my trip with you. The front seat view is excellent, the window is clean, and the conversation is fun. Can't wait for the trip back.
Hello Russ ,great video of the Ok. Space museum.I like how you are stopping an giving us a great report on all the wonderful thing that can be seen if one stops along the way .Take care as you travel to see family.👍👍😊✌
He was a Gemini and Apollo astronaut. He was the LEM test pilot on Apollo 10 that flew down to about 9 miles to scout the Sea of Tranquility for Apollo 11. There was a pool back at NASA that he disobey orders and land. He didn't so he 'almost' landed on the moon. He was also the last Apollo pilot when he flew on the Apollo Soyuz test program in 1975. He is still with us at age 89
Ahhh, it's been about 12 years the last time I was their. It diffently looks like many upgrades and much better lighting. Maybe it was my old vcr camera, but I do not remember seeing everything so bright. May goodness how much better our cameras have gotten. Thanks for the tour again Russ
I shed a tear when you crossed into Oklahoma. It was like I was with you. My grown kids and Grandkids live there. 105 miles east of Weatherford. I just can’t talk myself in to moving there! It’s so hot and humid. I’m still thinking about it though. Love your videos! Great tour of that Museum 👍🏼👍🏼 🚀 ✈️ ✨
God Bless the United States of America , Russ , RVerTV Fans . Thank you Russ for another Great Video / Great Views - RVerTV Fans send Russ a Major Wave. 🙋♀️I liked the signs on either side coming into the Stafford Space Museum. A lot of history, very educational. Great place for a field trip. I love how Oklahoma proudly displayed Staffords' life . A lot to be proud of! I'm glad you stopped Russ! 👍I hope your Fathers' Day was as wonderful as you!
nice museum. thank you for sharing this stop with all of us. hope you have a wonderful time with your family. stay safe. wishing you a super week. Hugs, Susan
My uncle retired in Weatherford and had a business growing and selling produce. Not sure about now. There's also a wind generator propeller blade in a small park near the police station. It's impressively large.
Wow it is definitely flat, I get lost without mountains to get my bearings from. Living in the high desert in Nevada there is valleys and mountains on each side of the valleys.
Thanks for the heads up on this museum. Very impressive. Will have to stop there on our trip West. Nice to have it all to yourself. Does the wind blow that strong most of the time out there?
Thanks for your video Russ I love traveling with you mate I can’t wait for your country to open up ,the US is an interesting beautiful place with the coolest people 🇺🇸👍🇦🇺
My husband just told me that there is another astronaut with the same name that died in the 60s. He said growing up he was always asked if he was related to him. Our last name is Stassforth and often mispronounced Stafford.
Who would have figured a museum of this quality would be built in a small town out in the boonies, looks like something you would have found in OKC or Tulsa.
That first jet out by the road was an F-4 Phantom when the Thunderbirds flew them, the show was more spectacular than the tamed down stuff they fly now. The real Spirit of St. Louis, and Glamorous Glennis are at the Smithsonian.
...Uh,...That "big orange thing" is what Chuck Yeager flew when he broke the sound barrier.....When asked what he broke the sound barrier in, I can just see him saying, "A big orange thing" .....Too funny.....hahaha.....A great place to see, wish I could travel....Thanks..
Hi Russ. I am guessing you are using go pro looking through windshield. How do you keep the road noise out of it. my go pro is terrible. Asked if there was a mic and was no but to stick a piece of sponge rubber in mic hole. havnt tried it yet. Thanks. Love what you are doing. Keith.

One wonders if general Thomas Stanford ‘s favorite movie was Days of Wine and Roses. I still remember instant breakfast drink called Tang.
Wow! I'm so ☺ for y'all.
That looks like one of the finest aircraft and space mission museums ever.
