  • Come along for the chase as we follow the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad's Cascade Canyon Winter Train! Ex-D&RGW k-36 #482 was on the head end, having recently returned to service after being converted to burn oil. Sporting a fresh paint job and a Powell 3-chime whistle, the locomotive put on a great show rolling through the Animas River valley and climbing Hermosa Hill. Lots of good steam sounds in this vid, so watch in HD and crank up your speakers!

    That's Chris Brophy on The Engine because he always makes his long whistles sound like "short-long" whistle connected together.
