This is what I've done with my patio drapes and it works great! We have 3 dogs who go in and out all the time so this function works great.

Where can we buy one piece curtain rod ?

You just solved all of my current problems/questions with the exception of 1. How do you manage drapes when there are heating vents on the walls on either side? The closest one is about 6" from the door molding.

Very nice video. This looks like something I would like to use for my newly installed sliding glass doors. With that said, I have 3 questions...
1) Where can I get a 1-piece, big diameter rod that won't sag?
2) How wide are each of the two curtain panels?
3) What do you call the curtain type (e.g. grommet) and how it attaches to rod?

Non telescoping Rods ive only found on Home depot website

Ive only seen Home depot .lookup non- telescoping rod
I have a question plz. I just moved into an apartment with the old style sliding door with the vertical slat blinds. I have 2 sliding doors. One is in my bedroom and I am at a loss as to completely cover the top, sides and bottom to keep the light out. Any help would be fantastic. Thx
Sorry for the late reply. You have a challenge to handle on this one. Since it is an apartment, I’m not sure what regulations there are to change window coverings. Vertical blinds have limited ability to create room darkening. Are you looking for a simple solution or a complete re-do of the window treatments that are there? I have a slider and I cannot for the life of me find drapes like you describe. Also, I need a matching drape for another window in the same room. I cannot find anywhere, a company that offers multiple size options so my window coverings match. What do I do?
