Firoza Begum was once a very popular singer of undivided Bengal,later she and her husband shifted to east Pakistan.She sang mostly of his husband Kamal Dashgupta's compositions.
They are both from the east(Jessore and Faridpur district). Went back home due to his marriage with her and was hated by many and loved by many.
She is from Faridpur, Bangladesh.
@@bazlur-Vancouver They were not being hated.Actually Mr.Dasgupta earned a lot but as hewas a very generous man could not save anything and he was not being able to cope up with the modern trend of music.It was very hard time for them.They hoped they could get a chance in Dhaka film and music industry, but failed.
@@anutapabhattacharya7541 You may not know the full history. Many in Calcutta did not like that he married Firoza and many Muslims did not like her marrying a Hindu. She and Kamal babu had a very bad relationship with her brother Asafuddowla- a singer and top Pakistani, later Bangladeshi Bureaucrat. Her large family didn't agree that she married KMD, but they all admired KMD. Kamal Dasgupta had 3 cars and houses in Kolkata, was a rich man and settled up his siblings, and invested all his money in a private Bank, but it was bankrupted. after losing all money he himself bankrupt. Firoza was a high-spending lady after getting married to KMD. when He came to East Pakistan forever in 1967(before just came and went back to Kolkata), but during the Pakistan time, Kamal Dasgupta couldn't get work in Bangladeshi media. He opened a Grocery store selling pan cigarettes etc and the liberation war started. Firoza alone runs the family with her participation in Pakistani radio, and stage performing in both Pakistan and India. when He got the job he wanted in Dhaka Radio, but suddenly died from the disease. Wonderful voice, music and lyrics!! Fairoza Begun was barely nineteen or so when this was recorded. Kamal DasGupta was a great music director who later married her. Her brother had also sung this song much later beautifully.

Mukhtar Saheb, i think before entrance of Lata ji, Suman Kalyanpur ji and Asha ji etc. Legendary Singers Firoza Begam, Surendar Kaur, Shamshad Begum, Zohra Bai Ambala waali all these were the shining star singers in our Film Industry at that time, they were very famous singers since what melodies they sungs at that time, still those are popular and i think will be popular forever.
