Hi Walter- Hard to say exactly because there was also time to set up camera shots/angles etc. But if I were to remove all "camera/production" time and just include the gathering, processing, and fire-making, it was probably about 2.5-3 hours. Most of that is gathering and preparation. Once it's all setup and ready to go, the time to create a coal and make a fire with the prepared kit and materials is a couple minutes.
In my mind primitive friction fires should only be done this way, with no tools. I mean if you’re gonna use tools, then you might as well use a ferro rod
