What about a build challenge where you have a set amount of time (2-3mins) to "shop" for furniture/lights. Then, you have to build the shell and furnish the house with what you picked out, not being able to go back to purchase other items and needing to use everything you pulled out.
Further Info:
*During the shopping phase, you can select anything from the build/buy catalogue. If you want more than one of an item, you need to duplicate/pull out as many as you want. Swatches are finalized when the time runs out
*If you want a higher difficulty, windows/doors can also be selected during the shopping stage
*After the time is up, take as long as you want to build the shell, add wallpaper/flooring, and furnish it using ALL the items you picked out in the shopping stage
*Landscape is separately timed (1min), but you cannot arrange it until time is up.
Hopefully this all leads to an interesting build~

@@Willothemask can always get it weather-proofed/resistant but at that rate I think it would be worth more than the tiny house itself.
Also, do objects placed outside of the house/shell affect the tile count, or is it only "indoor space" that counts for said square-space? I'm not new to The Sims 4 but I am new to Tiny Living.
@@donnykitsune6289 Only the indoor space! I know this 'cos I made a micro home with a furnished patio outside...and because I didn't QUITE close the fence around it, the game considered it not a room. Although I was totally using it as one. :)

Me every time she does a Tiny Home build. I love our Kayak but MY GOD does she have a thing against murphy beds, and the wall mounted bookcase/TV stand that you know, come in the pack that introduced tiny homes and is even called Tiny Homes Pack XD

On landscaping: start using plants native to the area. We have so many beautiful cacti in game, and I've never seen you use them once, not even in your desert builds!

They’re on sale quite often! You don’t need all of the packs to be honest, although it is very tempting! X
Download some cc from sims resource. Doesn’t slow your game down that much and gets you build items
I dont understand a bunch of the placement restrictions and why sims cant walk around certain things. Like my sims always walk STRAIGHT THROUGH furniture. literally always. the other day i literally had an issue with Dirk Dreamer standing in the middle of a double bed and not being able to move because he was acting like he couldnt move through the object. they also teleport a lot. and i dont have that many mods. i literally only have two mods as of now, a skin texture and reshade.
What about challenge where you have to take a different one of you builds’ furniture and try to make a different house with the same stuff?
Challenge idea: take one of your “solid color houses” and renovate it by ONLY changing the swatches on the existing furniture so it becomes colorful

Thank You Kayla ... i ran into your channel in a search for Sims and watching a dozen of your episodes ... your enthusiasm and exuberance remindered me about how happy and satisfied i was play Sims 2 - - so i bought Sims 3 ... 2020 has had its sadnesses so i decided to close the year of perfect seeing 2020 to return to that kind of joy again ... thanx for putting a smile back on the face of a 64 year old kid :)

It would be nice if we had futons that you could place on the floor when going to sleep. You could keep them in the inventory, closets/wardrobes or stack on the floor. We already have sleeping bags so it shouldn't be so difficult to make.
I made a micro home the other day for 8 sims using CC bunk beds and it was actually 32 tiles. This challenge would be so much easier with bunk beds in the game.

I spend a huge part of this video wating for Kayla to use bunk beds and than I realised it's from last year
Build challenge idea: for each room, randomise how many tiles you can use
Kayla, you can still have a porch on your tiny builds. All you have to do is raise the foundation, keep the porch but then delete the floors inside your house, and raise the ground to match the foundation. Then add flooring. Though, note that your upstairs will have to be actual rooms in order to have flooring up there. You can still make it work and have an unlimited downstairs!
Hey Kayla, I noticed you undoing to get the wall back under the stairs but you can also select a wallpaper and hover over the stairs like you’re painting them to get the wall back under them!(ignore me if you already know this but it took me forever to figure it out)

Lil' simsie, you're wrong that it's physically impossible. In my 100 baby challenge, I genuinely fit all eight sims in the household into 32 tiles. I use bunk beds. I put the door to the house in the bedroom so it could go in the unused space between beds, and I put the door to the bathroom coming from the outside so it doesnt waste a tile inside the house. Outside, I have two of the bathroom stalls that came with discover university. Theres no table, couch, and usually no computer (unless it's at a time when i have fewer than eight sims or i move someones bed outside). It's truly a masterpiece, i love the challenge of moving everything around.

Hy lilsimsie! Loved the video, and seeing you add so much to a "micro home" makes me think of a possible challenge: the "everything challenge*.
And when I say everything I mean a lot with every skill build object, every musical instrument, every type of collectibles, a fish pond in the lot, the microscope, the dance floor, all of the gym equipment,... Literally EVERYTHING.

You should do an ABC's build challenge. Pretty much you have to build by the abc's so the first item in a room has to start with a, second with b and so on and so forth.

So I have 9 blood siblings and many many many other siblings from my step-fathers and step mothers (at the time we all shared a room there was 11 of us sharing a room). Hope that makes sense haha

Me building a micro home for 8 Sims: putting a big ass roof on the lot and maybe just some walls around bathrooms and put everything else under the roof. Boom. Sims are weather proofed and I beat the system! Yeaaahhh!
I play the 100 baby challenge with a micro home. It’s perfect for getting them to grow up faster. I make an A frame with the roof to the ground so I can make the weird gap of the actually house and roof a bedroom. That leaves room in my titled house for a bathroom and kitchen.
