Man I usually hate when people compare artists to other artists and I love Jose for who he is ... but when he started singing "Winter In America" I swear Gil was all over the stage at that moment...gave me chills.
1:07 It's all over your body (w/Pino Palladino) 6:22 Sword + gun (w/Pino Palladino) 14:38 Trouble 18:45 Ain't no sunshine 23:17 Come to my door 28:16 Park Bench People
Thanks. From what I can see so far, Alister White (trombone) has played for Incognito, Chris Bowers (piano) won the 2011 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition, and Pino Paladino (bass) has played with the greatest (like Elton John, Eric Clapton, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott) and above all on D'Angelo's second album. All brilliant musicians!
Pino's so cute!! you find that his dressing sense changes when he plays with the different people he sessions for, but with the same awesomeness yknow!
Bassline so simply in the first track but so few people really know how and when to play this. If there is one general rule in life which applies to almost any area and in particular to music, it' s: KEEP IT SIMPLE!
Dis heah Negro IS duh she-it. He pays homage to Empress Erykah Badu and will bring to mind the likes of Gil Scott-Heron, The Last Poets, Pharoah Saunders, Bill Withers... simply put, this brother is BAAAAAD! You need to see him in person. Jussayin...
12 years later & this still smacks
Spaven is a top 5 drummer in the world
