Hi Paul and Steve, nice to have an update, looked out for you on the Sunday at Brands Hatch. That wall of toolbox is a sight to behold..!! as is the phenomenal brace of cars. Keep the videos coming.. cheers, Alex.
I knew if I spoke to you both at Brands about LACK of content something might happen? lol. Really enjoyed meeting you both and tell Steve to put on some P100 stuff. He might remember the old codger he was talking to then?!
cats have soft pads for feet..... they will never scratch a cars paint work... claws yes...but never when chilling...or on youtube... quality work..your cat is a great supervisor... beautiful cars...that some of us oldies... can now never own.... merch update..? Tnx steve and paul... and cat.. N x
As a 4 decade coachbuilder turned boat builder who's main craft is spray painting and currently at the upper boundary of custom freehand art, most of my living coming from freehand on lorries or boats... I CANNOT emphasise how utterly wrong you are. Even the high solid scratch resistant acrylics, hard epoxies and hybrid marine paints are easily scratched by dog and cats. Half of my custom motorbike tank days the filler work i was doing was all tanks and tank covers and tail units that cats had been hopping around on. One of the most expensive cars ive had to fix a Zonda the damage was caused by a cat and the same guy had me redo the clear coat on several expensive motorbikes in his collection that the cat also used as a walking platform daily. You dont know how wrong you are.
on top of my last comment one of the other fixes im doing all the time on the expensive cars and motorbikes is damage done by falling objects like cans of wd40 and paint tins etc. Often these are caused by cats accidentally tipping them onto cars. In Scotland ive had to do lots of old classic cars including an unrestored older pre spoiler 4ltr V12 Lamborghini countach that had unfortunately been damaged by "Oyster Catcher" birds if you know what they are? Not only did their leg hopping cause damage to the paint their bird s£#t destroyed it too so i had to go even deeper than i wanted to get rid of the damaged paint. Please dont post false information mate a cat can ruin a car paint job with ease.
further still an example of a 2004 Yamaha R1 SP a beautiful bike had never done any milage was bought as a display bike. The guys cat sat on its tail unit all the time where the back seat is. It had gouged not just the paintwork surrounding the seat cushion but had made marks on the titanium exhaust cans where it had slipped off the bike in panick and used its claws. One single time it slipped off the bike he heard its claws detroy the paintwork. See the cans they were Akrapovic titanium full race ones at £2000+ per can and the seat unit was no longer available in the black as it was a special edition so the old one took me over 15hr to get perfect and keep the original over-cleared Yamaha sticker thats directly behind the seat cover. He paid over £4000 to fix what a cat done to the bike and the bikes probably only worth £12k. Cheers
a wonderfull job . had a moonstone blue 3 door in 1990 got nicked as normal but kept it standard engine was fine but RUST was always the issue those fords in the 80s were just not proofed enough for the good ole british weather
Don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it but the banner behind the engine @ the 7:59 mark “bilbstein”??? Not heard of that before. What do I win haha
I grew up riding 1970s and 80s 2 stroke bikes as a kid…turbo lag is nothing compared to the power delivery of an early 80s motocross bike…it was a switch…on or off…turbo lag is a very mild inconvenience really I think people just can’t drive and like to complain 😉
It is incredible just how much damage they cause over time let’s say a ten year old car that’s been exposed to birds and cats , you only have to catch it in the right light and my god the state of the paint is unbelievable!
