Here's a tip: If you get a long range lock, if you Loft the phoenix yourself (Pitch up 45-60 degrees) it becomes a mach 5.5 boom stick coming down directly above them, making them as deadly as ERs.
the loft makes them more susceptible to mistakes, and the distance he fired them from, that wasn't necessary either, 20km he has plenty of fuel, the guy took 4x hits on the phoenix, it doesn't need to be more deadly than that xD

it definitely isn't when youre actually around other 12.0 aircraft. It's quite a dominant fighter at that BR and obviously it has the only fox 3s in the game and theyre pretty damn good. Not to mention it's almost as beautiful as it is fun. Probably my favourite aircraft to dogfight with on a level playing field too.
I know the Aim-7Fs and Aim-7Ms are identical at the moment in terms of performance, but in my experience, I hit more with the 7Fs than the 7Ms. I've been cleaning house in the F14A and literally everyone I slung an Aim-7F at just collected the thing... or did the patch some hidden issue or something
irl the sparrows had a certain difficulty in hitting supersonic targets maneuvering, in war thunder we are above M1.0 all the time, this impression that the 7F is better simply happens because you kill slower targets, I have the same feeling playing from EJ KAI or F-14A
yes, its a fox 3 missile, it has its own radar, and locks itself on the target from 16km onwards, I turn off the radar because it still follows a reliable trajectory so that it finds it within its distance, if it were a more distant shot I would still leave the radar on longer

not much, the problem is that in top tier matches I rarely go beyond 4 kills, when I do 5 or more i die, the f14b is no longer such a fierce competitor for 12.7, people have a medium higher skill level and often end up dodging of phoenixes with ease
all radars are underperforming because of 16v16, gaijin tried to make them a little more realistic but it didn't last a week because it was extremely difficult to fly if you weren't a flanker or an f14, In the end it's just a question of balance, which I agree with, so that the game is healthier

@@AkatsukiPain778 I only use loft when I shoot from more than 50km, but they rarely catch because the enemies make defensive maneuvers

@@Patrick-zr8tv it is one of the largest wing span wise for jets. That said, it isn’t held back by its equipment, especially at 12.0

You can fire them off at 70KM while pitched up slightly…. its pretty good, does kind of compete with R27 in terms of speed but not manoeuvrability.
this seems surprising because my longest splash with the aim54 was at 63km

Just stay low, about 500 feet or lower above the ground and you will be fine
