“I have found that all ugly things are made by those who tried to make something beautiful, and that all beautiful things are made by those who tried to make something useful.”
Wow, I'm stoked to see that they are still going out and playing. Also thankful I had the presence of mind to go see them play back in the mid-90's. There were so many kickass bands playing clubs and bars.
im obsessed with this song. its amazing to wake up one day 30 years later and hear a song in the 90s ive never heard before. and it slaps this hard. this song in 1996 was the underrated game changer.
They put on one of my favorite if not my favorite shows of all time back in the 90's. I was rolling on two hits of that good ecstasy we used to be able to get back then and they was playing this tiny club. The fog machines had the place so clouded up. You couldn't even see the band, just fog and lights. It was epic. I miss those days. Growing up in the 90's was the shit!
I’ve come to find that corruption is to blame for almost everything that sucks. It truly is a fallen world no matter what you believe. Why don’t real musicians often get mega huge? Because the entertainment industry creates puppets that make them money and speak for the government when needed. It’s not even a crazy idea. It’s just the truth.
I agree. My location makes it hard for me as well but if hum ever announced a final tour I would definitely find the time and money to see them live. I can’t even imagine how bone chilling it must be to be there
I saw them in the mid-90s in their hometown of Champaign. They packed an auditorium at U of I. The tone and sound quality were amazing. Far better than the studio versions. If people in there didn’t know who they were before the show, they definitely did after the show.
Love that he has a Goatwhore shirt on!! LOVE playing this song on my electric drums! I remember when this came out and I just couldn't find any info on these guys, pre-enlightenment
Very tight performance ... not sure what people could complain about other than sound quality (it’s not possible to record a band as loud as HUM on a handheld device without this effect). Maybe it’s just to complain? Maybe some people have gone deaf over the years? HUM certainly haven’t. Great performance! Please never stop.
I love this song… just like my 20 year old life in 90’s. Imho the Smashing Pumpkins gave 1,000 bands the right to sound like this and just be emotional without all the fake hysterics and superflous stuff… almost like pdychedelic metal folk music. Grunge to me was always about being angry at your abusive parents… and no jocks allowed… and the normal kids… just a big f u to normal people and jocks… no dude, we can rock and we’re outcasts… but we’re not dumb… and yah, hair metal is fake music
They've not licensed this for Spotify which is a damn shame. Mostly for my awesome playlist, not for the .000003 cents theyd receive each time I play it.
Who the hell is the guy in all black posted up against the wall in the side? is he like the band's manager or the owner of the place they're playing at or something?
Who's the new drummer? Where is Bryan St. Pere? This guy is boring, doesn't have any of the flavor and chops as Bryan did. As a drummer this takes the whole vibe out of it for me. No energy, basic fills, and 2 cymbals. meh
This is the replacement drummer that has traded placed multiple times with St Pere, I believe Bryan is on the studio album in the works but has been back and forth with family things over the past few years.
Beavis and Butthead standing against the wall in the background. Glad they gave the song a second chance.
the songs already over
I thought that was bones and skull from power rangers
These guys were geniuses and should be looked as such
Are. The album from last year Is great
I agree 100%
Absolutely!
“I have found that all ugly things are made by those who tried to make something beautiful, and that all beautiful things are made by those who tried to make something useful.”
In my world they are.. fuck everyone else 🤷♂️
To this day, that riff in the bridge section gives me chills. One of the best of the era.
So cool we’re both here in 2024. I’m seeing drug church in a few days and for some reason I thought it would be sick for them to cover this song.
right? so underrated
I am from the Philippines. And for most of s that grew up in the 90's , this is iconic.
Hot damn that takes me back. Stars is one of my favorite songs
LOL! His face and stature like, "I've had to play this song 100,000,000 times!"
He’s always looked like that, even when the song came out in 1995.
The bridge/breakdown to this song is so epic! Love that breakdown!
So epic
It's legendary!!!! ❤
Wow, I'm stoked to see that they are still going out and playing. Also thankful I had the presence of mind to go see them play back in the mid-90's. There were so many kickass bands playing clubs and bars.
Same here, seen em in Houston TX live at a small club for their 3rd album release.

Too jealous lol. Could not imagine hearing that guitar tone while rolling balls
Nice 😂
New album fucks. Super happy they're back
They put out a new album that kicks serious ass
The new album is their best. Amazing.
Got a speeding ticket because of this song in Austin TX. Worth it. Sad that VERY talented musicians can't be popular, but pop crap can be.
Don’t try to make sense of it. When I was in college. I breathed Hum while local radio stations shoved alterna-garbage endlessly down our throats.
I’m here right now. Maybe I’ll show Cap city what I got tonight!

This is awesome, just as good as their videos from the 90's. I always though this song was way ahead of its time.
Rest in peace Bryan. Thank you.
Fillet Show (1991), Electra 2000 (1993), You'd Prefer an Astronaut (1995), Downward is Heavenward (1998) and Inlet (2020).
I hope I get to see Hum live at least once in my life I fear I may be a little too late
The 90's... best music ever
My favorite song of all time !! Back in the day, this was my jam.
This band is thee best!! 2023 and they are huge!!!!! As far as I'm concerned.
One of the best songs from mid 90's I as you may see still jam to it and look for every obscure way to see it live again
Some of the best riffs of the 90s jammed into one song.
I loved this song back in the day! I thought it was gonna be such a bigger hit then it was. It still kicks ass.
Damn this is legendary- I have never heard this song until now.
listen to you’d prefer an astronaut or really just any of their albums they’re great
I’d fuckin do anything to see them at a live mellow show full of fans like this holy shit ❤❤
They are the band who created my life soundtrack : )
i hope they go on one last tour in dedication of Brian. i’d love to see them and it’s sad that i’m so young and my favorite bands are older
I agree. My location makes it hard for me as well but if hum ever announced a final tour I would definitely find the time and money to see them live. I can’t even imagine how bone chilling it must be to be there
They will do something.
This is legendary

Underrated song that rocks!
Love that he has a Goatwhore shirt on!! LOVE playing this song on my electric drums! I remember when this came out and I just couldn't find any info on these guys, pre-enlightenment
Guitarist as a the Faceless t shirt on too
RIP Bryan.
I always get the vibe of this song when I listen to “Starset my demons”
Raw, powerful, explosive live performance! 🤘🏻🥁
Great band.Just heard their newest album.Their drummer bryan st.pere just passed away at 52.Very sad.
Real Rock.
Rip Bryan
Just Tremendous!!!!!
0:52 look how quick and instant Brian is
Very tight performance ... not sure what people could complain about other than sound quality (it’s not possible to record a band as loud as HUM on a handheld device without this effect). Maybe it’s just to complain? Maybe some people have gone deaf over the years?
HUM certainly haven’t. Great performance! Please never stop.
Yesss
LOVE.
Way. And I mean WAY ahead of their time.
rip brian st pere
Rockin!!!

Wait. I have it on Spotify?
nice !!!!!!!!!
😭😭😭
saints row 2 😭💔
Whoever mixed the audio and forgot to raise the volume on the singing mic should be fired immediately.
damn, these millenials know this song😂
Who the hell is the guy in all black posted up against the wall in the side? is he like the band's manager or the owner of the place they're playing at or something?
judging by the vest, I think he's just a member of security
It’s nice to watch these later to see what kind of guitar they would have actually played if they weren’t poor as fu…oh wait it’s the same guitar.
Wait what? Are Hum labeled with you!?!? WHATS HAPPENING!
Low T and the boys banging out another sleeper.
Dude on side of stage shouldn't be wearing a skin tight shirt! FL for ya

That's literally Bryan but ok
Uh, that is Bryan. Either that or they found a nearly identical-looking drummer
Good sound but i cant stand ,the original drummer was a great this i si weak and useless.😂
Im sorry but its not even close that from back in the 90s. Not the same energy.
No shit.
Erik Muniz They’re so much older now, what do you expect.
people get old too.
Yeah the mic sounded muted as fuck
