Wow.
The thought that someone either took the time to create an Owen Wilson account for the purposes of this comment or already had one laying around for a rainy day just cracks me up.

Mhhmmm. You subscribe to bitwit. What's your PC specs. You play any games?
@@pupperemeritus9189 I got a sweet ass rig that consists of a Dell optiplex I found in the garbage with 2 gigs of ddr2 ram running running windows 98. I play battlefield 5 in 4k with 666 million fps.
Fun fact not mentioned here... They named the song "Out of Reach" after Mangini's cymbals setup :´- D
rofl man xD you won the internet for today
He stole this comment bro🤣
Nice :) The Mangini cymbal jokes will never get old;
@@fuzzo73 no not really😂
In a serious question..why is Manginis cymbals so out of reach? lol is it just show off or pure challenge
He is just the nicest guy you can’t dislike him.
I got into Dream Theater very recently but i already have so much respect for this guy. He is great great guitarist yet he seems very humble guy. btw I freaking loved the new album
I can’t stop staring at the shape of JPs right ear pushing against his hair! I just can’t stop looking at it.
ikr!
two people who have influenced my life the most
& for the better are Carl Sagan & John Petrucci.
O! The Almighty Lord John Petrucci, Jesus of Metal Music.
Idol worshipping. John is just a superhuman. Haha
@@strobe2005 wrong, he's definately god himself!
@@josuastangl7140 Is there any proof? My God created music, John just plays it. ;) I have great godly beard also. Did we entered in the Great Debate? Haha
@@strobe2005 the great debate is a dream theater song.
Can’t wait to get my Distance Over Time artbook in the mail. I could hear the “wow” in S2N too lol.
Wow
This man is super-human and I love him greatly. He's my man-crush
Did You smell his beard??
@@strobe2005 smells like bourbon.
“If I seem superhuman, I have been misunderstood...”
Wow, I'd never expect one of my favorite musicians would be talking about Carl Sagan and Astronomy, it's wonderful
What an all around great person. hard working, awesome guitar player, yet humble and down to earth all the while.
Good and fun interview. I really admire how kind and humble John is. The fact he can have fun about himself and the band is refreshing also. ‘Wow. Really guys this is it. That’s the best you have?’ Lol
The video I've been waiting for.
The best Progressive Metal Guitarist!!!!
Is he better than. Chris Poland?
@@irena7777777 In my opinion, it is !!!!
@@irena7777777 Uhh YES LOL
@@irena7777777 hahaha I think so
THIS VERY TRUE. John its my #1 influential guitarist thats all
Even if I never listened to the genius of DT or JP and just saw interviews of him, I would assume he is one real nice guy to talk to, comes across as a really sweet man.
Also, great interview. Lots of great insights into D/T. what an album.
This is what god looks like.
This is God
If John hear this .. He will offend this very gently.. no human is God .. be real buddy. What stupidity are you guys talking about
@@presoonjames438 No Human, but Petrucci is not human.
Who would win a fight Lemmey or God?
@@topher198133 Trick question asshole. Lemmy is god
John Petrucci, thank you for such great music over 3 decades! It changed alot things in my life!
Thank you John!
I love this album so much! It's phenomenal.
New album is off the charts. Love it
Awesome. Who knew JP was into Cosmos. Cool stuff.
Ofcourse, he created it.
Two of my favourite people, carl sagan and petrucci
Great album! Love all of it!
We need an entire space prog and detective prog album.
The Owen Wilson "Wow" sounds like background commentary bleeding into the recording from the band or crew
Just when I thought I couldn't love or admire John Petrucci more, he comes out and says he watched 'Cosmos' back in the day with Carl Sagan and that and the Voyager missions inspired him. Holy heck man, this guy is awesome!
New album is great
Yeah! It is!
Legend
I’m certain it’s actually LaBrie that says wow on the live demos when they were writing.
I had never noticed the WOW until i watched this video!!! Haha love the mystery of this!
Love that he knows Chevelle...Very Underrated
chevelle never got the recognition they deserved, albums like Vena Sera were fucking great
Kudos to the interviewer for being totally on point with knowing Sagan, the Voyager mission, the famous photo. It's all awesome. Science is f#%%ing awesome.
Bought the CD today my God what an amazing album.... Now to go look up that Carl Sagan speech lol
I thought the ‘wow’ was James but now that you say Owen Wilson I cant unhear it.
Wow!
"wow" confirmed!
album iki tiap peronel bener2 menggila, Woooow keren.....
Please give us the Wikipedia Fact or Fiction. PLEASE!!!
Yes please
Trooch is the nicest guy in metal, and most definitely a decent, fantastic person overall. It’s always a pleasure watching him talk very passionately about his music and his sound, especially in a post-Portnoy era.
Definitely is Owen Wilson!!!!
"Wow!"
What a fucking album!!!! The virtuoso guitarists of our era all shred us to the cosmos but what he’s able to do with the rest of his band, the joy from the music and the delicious heaviness , I put him at the top the mountain... you have to see this band live it’s a damn near religious experience if they’re coming to your town just go you will not regret it , the prog metal masters are here to fucking stayyyyy thank you mr petrucci
John Petrucci in an interview mentioning Chevelle, I never thought I'd see the day
First hamburgers & now physics.... Gods I love this man! Got my CD ordered today.
It TOTALLY sounds like Owen Wilson btw. that's the FIRST thing I thought when I heard it!
Every time I hear Reggie Watts talk I think it’s Petrucci.
he's not saying it's Owen Wilson due to copyright
I think the WOW was placed intentionally as a wink of 1977 Wow signal that was picked up by a radio telescope in the middle of the white noise of space... Its aligned with S2N (signal to noise) meaning
You can clearly see Petrucci laughing sarcastically about the question, he knows the WOW was intentional
Jesus is back boys
Yes indeed
@@KingofWishfulThinking ahahaha that was a good one
wow
"Guitar tone described as somewhere between chocolate cake and the T-Rex from Jurassic Park."
WRITE THAT DOWN. WE MAY HAVE CRACKED THE FORMULA TO BECOMING OMNIPOTENT.
That is quite a spectrum. Once we have reached true chocolate cake tone, then and only then can we transcend ourselves.
Hahaha so good
Take a look at the black taped Marshall amplifier :)
OMG! What an awesome wikipedia fact or fiction season Is coming
The S2N track should have been called 6EQUJ5 in my opinion. Look it up. You'll go WOW when you discover the meaning.
Wow!
Wow
The begining of "viper king" definetly has some chocolate cake mixed in
The true Guitar Hero
Wow will be secret for ages
10 Years from now... John may look like Karl Marx
I was thinking about the same hahahahaha
I was thinking Einstein.
Haha.. this is definitely a shorter version of his beard. It was longer in the studio and for the album shoot. Very inspirational beard, I must say.
I prefer Billy Giffords
More like Kirk from Crowbar
Petrucci babam
The guitar tone on this album is just an ideal, in my opinion. Its definetely best tone JP ever had.
I also heard the wow
He's got the awesome beard!
😄
Young rocker Gandalf
Holy crap it was Owen Wilson
2:58 That was just a mirror ;)
If Images and Words made sweet love to Train of Thought, this album would be the lovechild
I'm a simple man. I see Petrucci, I CLICK. #Daddy
The WOW sounds like Mike! I'm gonna ask them for sure, I must know XD
Andrea Carbone I also thought it was MM’s wow, lol
its mike portnoy's wow and then he cried
This album is their best since Octavarium - not a bad song in the track list. JLB's vocals are a little over-produced, but the reverb and effects are killer nonetheless. Great job producing their own stuff. Nobody does it better! I say album of the decade
What a surprise to see Hagrid here
The bear saw Petrucci through the window; now that place is bear-free.
So, did anyone Soundhound the outro music? That doesn't seem right, does it?
^wow
If their new album is as great as A Dramatic Turn of Events masterpiece...then I'm gonna be surprised..if its half as good I will expect it
How often do you think he does his beard !! Lol
Imagine if they had all smoked pot in that atmosphere (the yonderbarn). I wonder how D/T would’ve turned out. I still love the record.
Wikipedia Fact of fiction?
Looks like it
His hair and beard look so natural! lol
They release records faster than I can listen to them.
I mean, The Astonishing was 2016
It’s like someone broke into his house and stole his razors and Polo shirts. He still sounds like the Preppy we know and love.
With the lyric "who's gonna save us from ourselves"....im assuming they're implying The Flying Spaghetti Monster right?
Excited for the new album 'speed' 😂😂😂😂
Great interview, but please fix that crooked candle!
I am in between on this album. I genuinely like 4 of the songs but I think the rest are either okay or I just don’t like them. Maybe it’ll grow on me though like Systematic Chaos and Images and Words did.
First rule: never judge an album after listening to it for the first, second or third time ✅
Bimon Solivar oh yeah I’m definitely giving it a chance and multiple listens. I definitely don’t think this is one of their bad albums. At the same time, only half the album stands out to me even after a few listens. It doesn’t grip me the way Black Clouds & Silver Linings,Octavarium, and The Astonishing do.
Petrucci likes Chevelle? I can dig it.
What a weird coincidence, the night when Distance Over Time (and Pale Blue Dot) was released was also the night of the launch of the first israeli spaceship to the moon!
I didn't even recognize him, and thought that he was some self-help guru who solves the world's problems with exotic tea.
aw Jesus this man is .... wait...... awww this man is Jesus
Graham meeting god
Oh My God...
So does the “dot” in Pale Blue Dot stand for Distance Over Time?
Pale blue dot is a coined term for Earth. But, yeah, that's clever too.
The planet Earth appears as a Pale Blue Dot suspended in darkness when seen from the edge of our solar system. It was originally coined by Carl Sagan.
Distance Over Time actually means speed.
Speed = distance covered / time taken.
Flat earther’s dislike Pale Blue Dot 😂.
petrucciator Petrucciator 😂😂😂😂👍👍
Pale Blue...... Pancake?
Can more people make albums that have basic physics equations as titles please idk how the fuck I'm gonna remember them otherwise 😂😂
the woaw could be the bass.
Wait petrucci has a signature baritone!??
Petrucci mentioned Chevelle... Does this bring new discussion to the theory that DT was heavily "inspired" by a Chevelle song? Sorry, huge DT fan but this must be an instance of this.
Pale Blue Dot is the probably the proggiest song you can prog about.
This is hilarious - you can tell with how OCD John is that when he found out there was vocal bleedover into S2N he was freaking out in his mind
I would love to be the bear in the middle of the woods that stumbles apon dream theater playing.
I thought the wow was Mike
Heavy Metal Heretic I also thought it was MM’s wow, lol
I didn't know who was Owen Wilson. Lol
Was the lower pitched growly voice Mike though
Look Its A Samsquach!!!!!!!!
Dream Theatre is pretty good
