I do land surveying and find myself in alot of different terrains and woods. Cherry always amazes me at its rot resistance and people don't give it that much credit for that. I've found logs that have been laying on the ground for a decade easy and much of the center will still be solid as can be. Still my favorite wood to mill, burn, and woodwork with! Love that smell! Stay safe out there!
