An absolutely crucial part of a sensible survival plan, is quality first aid kits. Thanks for reminding me to take inventory and stock my first aid packs.

Wish it came in red! If someone needs to go into my pack for my first aid kit, I want it to immediately stand out from my other gear as first aid. That's the only reason I haven't bought one for first aid.
I did however buy a black one for a personal items/shaving/toiletry kit.

    Nice little first aid kit.
For me, I would add H&H Pri-Med compressed gauze in there, simply because of how small it is in the package...
H&H Pri-Med compessed gauze are amazing for their size. And they are inexpensive too..

Heh, I have one of those! Really it's my favorite 1st aid kit pouch, any bigger and it wouldn't fit into most packs, and it's amazing how much stuff fits in there. It works pretty good as a generic organizer/survival kit pouch too.

You can find these online right now for about $17. Thanks for the look Sootch. Thinking about buying the FR1. I have already a couple of smaller First aid kits.

Great kit. Bought one a few weeks to use as a big booboo kit/minor trauma. Carry 2 separate gunshot wound kits in my unit. The Maxped stay in my pack that I use ad a brief case. I agree that Maxped is good stuff. I usually by mine off of eBay. Usually from a guy called "thewrightstuff". I get good deals there. Thanks for the good vid.

I love your videos man. You're concise yet detailed and serious yet upbeat if that makes any sense. One tip if you don't have these -- some kind of antacid and maybe charcoal tablets. There's nothing like being in a crisis situation and not being able to think clearly or be fully mobile because of nausea or severe heartburn. Charcoal tablets are also useful in certain cases of poisoning but I am not an expert. Thanks for the vid!

    Another great review.
    1. At $24 it's not a bad price. Plus the 10% discount.
    2. USNERDOC is a wealth of information.
    3. We need to do a cigar someday, I'll buy

@sootch00 Right on man. RN's and Medics are good to have around. I've been an EMT since 2004 and been working as a firefighter/emt since 2006 out here in the people's republic of california.

Glad to know you haven't wasted space with a tourniquet. Regular bandages are much better. They can be used as a tourniquet, in a very unlikely situation it's needed, or for a plethora of other uses.
I like the size of the Maxpedition 1st aid pouch, but they need to be more compartmentalised to be practical. The current version is not much better than shoving things into a couple of re-sealable plastic bags.

the reason he likes maxpedition products is the same reason i do.......ITS GOOD STUFF. its not crap, its very well made products. AND NO Maxpedition doesn't give me products for free, I do the reviews because this is good stuff. There is no way I would be in a situation with my family and I decided to buy a cheap bag or gear that is useless in the field.

The best first aid pouches are from Maxpedition and 5.11 Tactical. Great review and thanks for sharing the contents of your first aid kit! I suggest you check out the medical gear sold by ITS Tactical. They sell great medical shears, tactical tourniquet and an ETA Kit that can save lives. Thanks for your videos Sootch!

@sootch00 Don't let them get to you... They use fake accounts (back up) to cry and only use the accounts they care about to be good. You know, like hiding behind a tree until the trouble is all over, then come out and say they helped.

Looks like a great kit. How do you think that it compares to an FR-1 pouch. I've been using that for a couple of years and I love it. Also, maybe add a trauma pack with quick clot??

You are overpaying if you buy from the Maxpedition web site.....even if you can get 10% off. You can easily find the same items for $10 to $30+ cheaper from other reputable websites.

In my opinion you made more of an accusation than an observation- and in somewhat a mean spirited way. I know I as well as many other appreciate his gear reviews as well as his recommendations of where to purchase it. Not sure why you draw a comparison to nutnfancy - Sootch is Sootch - not nutnfancy.

I have watched the channel for a long time but without subscribing thus far. You are certainly free to conduct your channel as you see fit I was just making an observation of the way the channel has drifted recently. I am a subscriber of nutnfancy and have been for a long time also. He seems to abe able to conduct reviews without saying oh by the way buy it here.

  • @scdefion
    @scdefion 13 років тому

@vwncdude You watched the review but rag on him for telling where to buy it? You are probably of at least average intelligence , so you knew it was a gear review when you clicked. If you dont like the content the solution is simple ; dont watch. Just like somebody who isnt contributing to criticize somebody that is giving great service to the prepper community.
