Lovely cards, Gail! Great ideas using the catalog! Would you please let me know what stamp set the Merry Christmas came from on your 4th card? Thank you!
So, if I understand you right, your creative inspiration comes from looking at cards that others have made. Then you spend time thinking through how you can improve that design. This is a great idea. I have found that, over time, and much card making, that creativity develops. It is a learning process, very much like playing a piano. We can’t play it perfectly the first time we sit down to play. It takes hours, days, and years to develop and fine-tune our ability. But with practice, over time, we can become a great card designer. All four of your cards are absolutely better than the original ones in the catalog. My favorite is the moose one. Thank you for sharing how you have developed your inspiration.
Thank you! Yes, that is how I began and now after so many years of stamping I can sit down sometimes the morning of my videos and just create. I do get some inspiration from looking at other card designs that I see posted.
I was amazed how you put your own twist on the cards! I am so excited to sit down this weekend, get out my catalog and make cards. Thanks you for the inspiration! 🧡🧡🧡
love the way you made the cards; they're much better with that lovely DSP showing. Also the 2nd and 3rd card are great, we seem to be kindred spirits where it comes to card making. But the way you used the Forever Fern stamps in Christmas colors blew my mind, Gail.
It's absolutely a great way to train your eyes to see different layouts. The fact that you are able to compare one to the other makes the difference. The only thing I feel bad about is that I dissed that one card publicly.
@@StampwithGailsu That's okay, I got the idea anyway. That's why I love watching your program. You make mistakes and keep going and it always turns out just lovely. Makes it easier for me to make my mistakes and keep moving forward. Thank you for being human and not perfect like so many of these programs are. No matter what people try to do it isn't going to be perfect by our standards so we need to let it be perfectly imperfect. That's the way God made us. To always strive for perfection.
I compleatly agree with your coments on the card with oddly floating holly. I look at the cards in the book and I never thought about fixing the cards I was not drawn to. Brilliant Idea!!! Thank you for walking us through your process. And I have never seen the tearing paper into before. I love it. You ladies who have been doing cards for decades have so many creative ideas from before you could buy 10 thousand diffrent tools and embellishments.
Thank you Holly - I wanted to share how I actually learned how to stamp. After a while it becomes easier to come up with your own cards. It's a matter of play play play. Glad you enjoyed.
Hello Gail, love your versions of what's in the catalogue. Hope your sister'll be ok. I enjoy your videos & these versions of catalogue ideas are great. Thank you for sharing these.❤
I absolutely like Copics better. They are top of the line and very expensive but they are refillable and the nibs are 100% better and also replaceable. I started out with Spectrum Noir Illustrators which are less expensive but a good quality since they improved them. There are other brands out there as well and it all depends on how much and how often you color which set to choose.
Sorry I missed your live stream tonight, but I was finally sitting down to dinner after spending the entire day making three more Christmas cards. I always enjoy your videos and this one is an A+.
Watched replay. Love love this how to video. You made me laugh alot. Thanks Gail. Going to bed now. I have my pulmonologist appt in the morning over 45 mins away.
A lot of times I change a design I like because I don't have the same papers, stamps, or embellishments. I usually skip over cards I'm not attracted to, but now I'll try to remember to take a bit of time to think of what could be done to improve it. Thanks for the lesson!
Thank you so much! She almost died last year from the same thing. She's bleeding somewhere in her colon. They are going in to try and find and fix the spot.
You made me smile Gail. Love your “sound effects”. lol Love the cards too!

You're so very welcome. Once you do this for a while you will sit down and make one card, look at that and think of so many others you can make.

Thanks so much Ineke!
Thank you for doing that. I've always done that, but felt guilty for changing someone else's work. Now I know I can do this without guilt! Thank you!

Gail, this is an EXCELLENT video. You showed people that they can be creative by just sitting down and DOING.
Thanks so much Barbara, it is just a matter of playing.

Gail, do you prefer Copic markers to SU. SU is so expensive I'd like to get another alcohol brand name.

Love your cards! What is that thing that you used to press on your stamparatus and where did you get it, please?
Thank you! It's a whiteboard eraser that I got on Amazon. It really helps to get even coverage.
