Next time you try to make your miter saw level with the tables, use this trick: Get a perfectly square 2x4, so that when you lay it on the cutting area of your saw, it sticks out about a foot on each end. Attach it to your saw using the holes on the fence of the saw, making sure that 2x4 is sitting dead flat on the cutting surface of your saw. Now simply rest your saw using those extra foot lengths from each end. This will work as a temp holder while you install the permanent shelf for your saw to sit on. Hope it makes sense. Also, you made your station parallel to the floor, but that floor is not level, you might want to use a laser next time. Good luck!

I like the look too, but I probably would have replaced the plate covers for the electrical outlets. Metal covers against the metal pegboard blends in a little too well. Too easy to be in a hurry and accidentally plug something into the pegboard instead of the outlet, and vice versa could present a risk of shock. Maybe that's just me though - I might not be paying 100% attention because I'm thinking about what I'm building and I could see myself getting a little complacent, but I doubt I'd ever be THAT scatterbrained... hopefully. However I'm also rather fond of not being electrocuted so being the worry wart that I am, it would drive me nuts to think "It COULD happen though!"

I disagree on the Chamfer pronunciations because these guys can't even say aluminum right. But completely agree with the "I could care less". It's like people who say "irregardless". It's not a real word, but woke, inclusion dictionaries are adding it anyway. When you say Irregardless, you are actually saying "NOT regardless", similarly to saying irredeemable means "NOT redeemable".

      @canklefark 3 роки тому +3

I think the french cleats systems look nice and can be handy if you're in a position where you move things around a lot but for the most part, most people put something somewhere and there it will stay. Question about your MDF and melamine top... MDF is a great table top material, but its edges are prone to damage and fraying (esp in Florida humidity). I don't see where you added any protective trim. How has the that MDF held up?
I used 3/4 MDF and a sacrificial hardboard for my assembly/outfeed tables torsion box top (finished with shellac and arm-n-seal). The entire top has a hardwood trim to protect those edges. It has held up great, but I am wondering if it is overkill for my next project (miter station/cabinet). Cheers!

Good video, gave me some good ideas - thanks for sharing. That bucket of random nuts & bolts is called a "Lucky Dip" in Oz (industry standard here). :)

I'm retired and I have been collecting wood to build end tables nothing long enough for a coffee table. And clocks, maybe night lights ect. I've got my dad's old shop Smith. I need lots of tools too. I like, blue green, yellow gold white ,pearl ect. I need to use what sells best, until, I earn some money. Thanks for any advice, I'm shhhhhh 69 and can't stand to long. God bless you.

Im working on setting up a small woodshop in a 2 car garage 24 x 24. I'm a carpenter by trade but not a woodshop carpenter, I'm trying to decide what size table saw I should get. (HP) I have a Bosch portable but don't think the accuracy would be there nor power. This will be a side hustle and morph into a semi-retired woodshop. I figure small projects at first ie cutting boards, Charcuterie boards other hardwood projects. id like to try an epoxy table sometime. I will be getting a Makita track saw soon as well to break down sheet goods. Building my own cabinets for my kitchen remodel. So what would you recommend for table saw size/power? I also want a jointer and bandsaw and have a Ridged 12" desktop planner someone gave me.

Over time on Amazon, products may or may not be there. If you try to find a link on amazon to your extrusion pieces, you won't find the series 15 extruded aluminum (but you get the next 48 choices). Just the way Amazon is now. People peddling stuff for higher prices.
If you got it from any other company they would likely still have it.

So very much impressed with your operation; class act. Video is so easy to watch, and your knowledge is first rate.
You clearly take an engineering approach to your craft.
Do you need a virtual apprentice by chance? I am ready to level-up.
I have invested in some quality tools, have amassed a stockpile of hardwoods, and have completed a few basic pieces.
Goal is to recreate some of the Pullman mansion pieces.

Bonjour mon ami! Comment ca va?
Thanks for sharing. I initially thought those rails would be very expensive, but your link shows them to be just a little pricey. 😄. I saved them in my wishlist for future reference, thanks for the info.
Just curious, the metal peg boards are also a little pricey (saved them too though). Any reason, other than convenience you picked that instead of a more DIY solution like french cleats or other custom storage?

Kon'nichiwa😁 love the video sir, good job. I have recently discovered your channel very recently, loving it buy the way. I'm a hgv driver/ woodworker and would love to take woodwork full time. How did you make the leap? I'm too afraid of leaving the monthly wage.
Keep up the good work. Pete

I'd love a closer look at the rack hanging on your wall with all your wood wood in it! I'm struggling with wood organization at the minute.

Si: fun videos (even for a woman) learning lots in the comfort of my home. Maybe I'll do a video from my sewing shop... second thought there are tons of those out there... 🤷🏻‍♀️ by the way, I ordered the double sided permanent tape, but I didn't see where you had it posted so sorry, no credit. But appreciated the tip.
