The smell of 2-stroke always brings back memories of the 70's, blatting about on my friends Moped. You rarely see 2 strokes these days, but when you do.... :)

I used to love doing sub-zero starts on the Cat 773/775, 990, and 24 graders. Nothing quite like hearing those engines running on just a few cylinders, smoke rolling from the stacks, and a bunch of hydraulic pumps screaming from overly thick oil...and then waiting for a half hour before you could pop em into low gear and grumble around while the rear end warms up. This old man could be very happy playing with all your toys! 😁

I can beat that snowblower. 20 years ago I picked up a Toro 721 snowblower off the side of the road . I did nothing to it but replaced the handle on the pull cord. Gave it to my Dad he was about 80 then. He used it till he was about 90 then I would use it around his house. He passed last year at 99. I hadn't started his Toro in about 4 or 5 years I had been using my ariens at his house. Back in December it snowed and I was at his house (taking care of mom) I put gas in the Toro and it started on the first pull. In 20 years we never even changed the oil. But it still goes
The Bobcat barely started up near freezing but the Matt loves that thing. Andrew Camarata can't say enough bad things about Bobcat, so he got a Takuechi and seems happy as a clam.
Good effort, good video, Matt! Not bad results for upper 20s start-ups. We just got through the legendary polar air mass attack here in Southern Colorado. Tuesday night into Wednesday we had at least 15 below temp and a lot of no starts around the area. Not nearly as bad as from Texas up through the mid West and to the East. Spring can't be that far up ahead!
Yep Defiantly some of the Most Random cold starts out there, Next to Airplane and snowmobile, think you hit every type Motor vehicle on the market. Time to get your shop in full build mode this spring, so they can be kept inside warm and comfy to start.

i rescued a really old Toro 3521 snow blower from the scrap pile years ago and last month i put a new predator 212cc 6.5hp engine on it from the 4.5hp original now it throws the snow half way across my yard haa haa

On that bobcat, Dad had a old tractor like that and eventually changed a wire (don't remember/know which, I was about 12, -80 now) that solved the problem. I do remember he/we '"dissected" it and found a tiny break that apparently/assumed when cold, shrunk enough to break (good) contact. He taught me to look for weird solutions when all else failed. He also insisted in cold weather, run until exhaust was hot enough to get rid of the condensation (gas engines) often half an hour, but gas was way cheaper then.

Good ‘ol Dave’s Farm (or Davidsfarm later on) With the “hot water” aside, that was a hell of a channel to watch, and love him or hate him Dave was a damn genius when it came to fixing and making things. Some of his how to videos, especially on small engines, taught me a lot And the old Ford diesel, Cheviac, old 427 tandem dump, and that old dozer (honorable mention to others like the Toyota Cressida, diesel Caravans, etc) were absolutely amazing! Oh and Wolf! Can’t forget that old pup!
