Hope you read this comment ,it's nice to hear you talk about your family and I watched the next video with your daughter reeling in the shark, it's very nice to see how cater if I'm relaying properly but I means something more than just another catch, thank you for your content
I would love to hear what you are doing when fishing, such as slow retrieving or jigging and retrieving, or just letting it fall, etc. If you have these type of verbals in older vids, please let me know. Great stuff.
Dang, it’s like getting free tickets to a Yankees game behind home plate and not even knowing it. Very cool to see that you asked her, and that she said yes!
Awwww Yissss This makes me realize that retiring to winter in Florida when the time comes is the right move. Come back to Cape May around the striper bite 😎
Hi John, I have a question I hope you can answer, you have a tsunami saltx spinning reel as do I, but do you know how to contact them , I can't find a website or any contact information, box says "Biminibayoutfitters" but a clothing line , any idea how to contact them, thanks much, good castin!!
Have to tell you that cooler weather is a great time to KEEP speckled trout. When the water warms up they have a tendency to be very wormy (in the panhandle at least). However, in summer time, they can be caught en masse at night under dock lights. Love your content. Keep at it!
This is true about the worms, but they're totally harmless. If I'm not mistaken, it shows a healthy environment. I will say if you haven't been fishing for some time, the worms might turn you off from trout, but I love them.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing Zman offers the slam shady colors on their website, and I believe they make baits for strike king as well. And it’s not like salt strong makes them themselves, they don’t have a manufacturing facility. But I haven't held them in my hands to compare.
I have fished that same bay many times John. It is a great trout spot. On low tide the trout stack up in the channels. I tend to catch bigger fish on topwater during the spring.
Awesome video, as always great! I love the sheepshead fishing here in the cedar key area. The flats should be warming up really good this week; the trout should start popping and also the Spanish mackerel.
Hey, John I've noticed that you seem to be catching just your target species (sheepshead). Are you catching other species and just not showing it or is your technique, bait, location etc. just yielding sheepshead? I know that when I fish crabs up here in Massachusetts I can catch anywhere from 1-10 different species on a given day. Just curious is all. Keep up the great work.
I agree! I tossed beautiful shrimp under there and couldn't get a keeper. I should have just taken the shrimp home and boiled them up. I do wonder in a heavily fished place like this if all of the bigger shrimp eaters are just culled out.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing Can’t let the. Complain their way out of a spot but I get it. Can’t believe how decent the Sheeps are there. I am on the east coast, New Smyrna and they are not that easy to find that size. I am a transplant from Newport RI. Also have a house in Everglades City one day I will run into you.
That's great. You have the bite pretty down pat on those guys. Yeah, definitely a hike to S. Jersey from L.I. Before retiring you ever fished Jersey any?

Yet another amazing show! Thanks John.
Great insight into the legend
Slam Shadys work! Great video!
Congratulations to Dr Katie!

Nice spot
I'm going to try the crabs John. Today I went out of Matlacha in my kayak. Tried shimp and coiuld only land undersized sheephead. (from Smithown)
Thanks for the video. I can't wait to get down to that area permanently myself. The fishing is going to keep me busy!
Can you provide information on your boat. I am moving to Fort Walton Beach and will need to get a nice used boat for inshore/jetty fishing. Thanks.
1990 Maverick Master Angler.
Awesome catching. Thanks for sharing
John, how about giving us a "Catch and Cook", would love to see how you cook your sheeps-head.
I'm from India John, and simply love your videos..Just curious, I'm wondering how many of the proper sized fishes can you keep..?
Mr. Skinner have you ever tried barnacles they seem to look just like those mud crab knuckles
Do you prefer at this point, fishing in the South or up North?
They're just too different to compare. Hard to say.
Hey John what do you like better fishing Florida or NY, for me Florida just because the variety of species that could be caught is crazy
It's hard to say. They're just different.
Dang, it’s like getting free tickets to a Yankees game behind home plate and not even knowing it. Very cool to see that you asked her, and that she said yes!
Hey John would those lures work for up north. I’m thinkIng the pink color would work in the spring for fluke/small
Stripers?
Almost certainly.
John likes all audiences, in person and online! Nice fishing platform!
Awwww Yissss

Come back to Cape May around the striper bite 😎
Skinner with the dinner 🙌🏽🙌🏽 love your vids
Not going to lie I would love to go fishing with you some day
I’ve used those salt strong lures for school or and resident bass as well. Work well, especially at night
John gonna miss ya at the Ward Melville show this weekend! Tight lines!
Next year...
Maggie Fishing thanks for the heads up. I didn’t know it was this weekend.
I heard your cheerleading squad in the background there. Good video and fishing as always!

Hi John. The trout are in the drum family just like Redfish and Black Drum. No connection to weakfish. That’s why they taste better.
Did you ever consider turning your books into Audiobooks?
Not really.
Boy that first dock was loaded with fish glad to see you got enough for you and your guests.

@@JohnSkinnerFishing where do you normally get your mud crabs at, im in the cape coral area
We fish with shrimp too! Are you in florida? 🐟🌴🐊
Yes, SW Florida.
What kind of fish are they ?
Sheepshead under the dock. Trout on the flats.
Hi John would you rather be catching blackish on the northshore!
In the fall, with albies scooting by, yes.
Great job John that looks like so much fun I'm stuck here up in Frozen southern Vermont
John I would love to hear how you cook up the sheepshead. Thanks.
Awesome fishing and lady I hope you offered her some fish!!!
Damn, I thought you was only the flounder master. You are really dead on with those bandits
So much fish there! I never had much luck with shrimp - always seems to get small fish below limits. I do envy you :-)
I think the salt strongs are made of elaztech by zman, which would explain how tough they are.
That would surprise me.

have you ever fished from cedar key fl?
No. It's pretty far.

John is planning to take his daughter's boyfriend out to water where there are no other boats around... uh oh 😨😱😬
Ha! He's OK.

Are we going to see you up north with this boat?
Not with this boat. Trailering 1500 miles is very stressful.
Like you’ve said before, those trout are delicious! Definitely one of my favorite inshore fish to eat. Stay safe and God Bless
Nice mix of fishing but the looking down video of the sheepshead landed in the boat gave me the feeling of motion sickness, strange but true.
The lady must have known she would be getting a lesson from the fishing master.
Next time don't throw always the claw . That the best part to catch sheepheads
L10, Happy fishing my friend, I hope you have a beautiful day.👍👍
Are those fish you call trout the same as our Long Island weakfish? I know some call them trout too.
No. These look and taste different and are much more aggressive, jumping and hitting poppers.
It really puzzles me why the bigger sheep’s head don’t bother with the shrimp and prefer crabs 🦀
I agree! I tossed beautiful shrimp under there and couldn't get a keeper. I should have just taken the shrimp home and boiled them up. I do wonder in a heavily fished place like this if all of the bigger shrimp eaters are just culled out.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing imagine this plump lovely shrimp for the taking and you choose to eat a little hard crab ! Hmm . Haha yes you can eat your bait !
Great fishing John
What area of SW Florida are you in
Near Ft Myers.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing what area in Ft Myers, looking to catch sheepshead. Pine island?
The barrier islands west of there.
That lady was definitely hitting on you bro.
She was very nice about being OK with me fishing there.

Hey John, really enjoying the Fl videos. Have you ever tried for Sheepshead up north or just down there? I know guys get into them in S. Jersey.
Only Florida. They're a long way from Greenport up North.
