Those videos are gold for people who make their own controller box(for budget reasons). Its great reference how to properly make one and avoid mistakes. Thanks Vince
Radoslaw, Thank you for your support, an the kind words. I greatly appreciate it, and hope the video helps all those ready to build their own system. :) Thank you, Vince
Another work of art Vince. Just wanted to let you, each time I solder, I think of you :) The techniques you shared for tinning wires and soldering connectors work really well. The useful stuff they don't teach in school.
Kent, thank you for the kind words, and support. I really appreciate them. Soldering, like any other skill is lots of trial, and error till you find what really works for you, and the methods I discuss have never let me down, and made the process much more enjoyable. Thank you again, Vince
Vince !!! Thank God you were born. Awesome work you are doing, and the best of all is that you share it with the rest of the world. Bless you and and all the best for you each day. Thank you for your generosity and passion. Salutations from France. Raul.
Raul, Thank you for your kind words, and support. I really appreciate it, and am glad to have helped. You, and your family please be safe. Thank you again, Vince
Another great vid. Thanks for taking time and explaining everything in detail. I know how easy it is to take for granted that we don't need to hear the details, because you have stated the info many times previous. Thanks. Kirk
Thank you Kirk for your support as always. I hope over time the videos will answer all the questions for the new end users as my library grows. There's not one system that's the same , but the principles are which I hope they understand prior to building their own system. Thank you again Vince
Thank you Phil! I really appreciate your support! All Gecko system's produce excellent stability, and performance when assembled correctly. Thank you again, Vince
VInce's builds are the best...i'm going to do a video soon..of vince's build..and another well know builders ...there is no comparison...a made the mistake of buying the others first...
Following your advise, I got myself some ferrite beads. Unfortunately at 1.5mm ID, those are too small to fit the 18 AWG silicone wires. However, they fit snugly onto the metal wire. Thus I was thinking I could place the ferrite in contact with the wire right next to the wire terminal. Is that a bad idea? I verify and my beads are very resistive (I measure about 4 Mohm between the wire and the bead). Alternatively, could you point me to a place where I could buy the beads you are using in this video? Thanks!
purchased homemade cnc plasma table with to many problems just need gecko 540 with everything needed to plug and play with my hyperthurm 45 xp. what ever you suggest. would like thc .
Tank, thank you for your support. Please message me at Storm2313@gmail. com and we'll set up a phone consultation to discuss your system's requirements. Thank you, Vince
Hi Vince. One question about wire gauge. It looks like you are using 18AWG for pretty much everything, including "main", except the 48V line where you use 12AWG. Can you confirm? Thanks!
Hey Nico, Thank you for your support. The system utilizes 16awg for the A/C lines in the system, 12awg from the 72v power supply to the power distribution terminals, and 18awg for the drives wiring. Silicone wiring is used for the drives wiring for its flexibility. Thank you, Vince
Hey Kenneth, thank you for your support. EMI filters are excellent, but are best for certain applications. I find other applications are better solved with ferrites, and traditional shielding. The mention in the video of multiple fuses is do to the system using individual drives as they each have one to protect them, and then each power supply also has a fuse along with one installed to protect the power entry of the system. Have a great weekend! Vince
