EDC TOOL BAG ESSENTIALS - Tool Bag Tour - Mechanic Tool Bag Setup - Tool Kit for Car or Truck

- Today I go through my EDC tool bag essentials. These are my must have tools that I carry with me everywhere I go to be ready to repair a broken down car. My mentality with this tool bag is to travel light, yet have the necessary tools to get a car back on the road.
I started carrying a tool bag back when I was a kid riding my scooter around the neighborhood. Over the years, through trial and error, I have fine-tuned my tool bag organization so that I am now prepared for most roadside repairs.

What tools do you always carry in your vehicle? Let me know below!
Absolutely nothing. And I've never needed anything. And I'm rather sure that if I had to face a problem, the correct tool would miss anyway.
@@vzmax You must be fun at parties
😂
I love watching these tool setups. This is a great all around setup. The only negative thing about it is sometimes your digging thru the entire bag for that one plier or electrical tape or that small drill/impact bit that’s somewhere in there haha
This is a solid bag. Great stuff.
Great Car Tool Setup!
I can't imagine what else anyone would need. Great video.
Thank you. This setup has served me well for many years.
a hammer
Great setup old school no hype $
Thanks, Anthony!
dope video. just bought my first car and dont know anything about them, this is a good place to start.
Thanks! Congratulations on your first car!
Duct tape and baling wire will be a good add on.
Nice bag set up. I always carry one to.
Thanks! It's gotten me out of more jams than I can count.
Nice tool kit
Cool video. Thanks for sharing.
A fuel line quick disconnect tool would be a great addition to the kit and possible some alligator wires for electrical
Good ideas, Javier. I actually already had alligator clips but forgot to pull them out. But I really like the idea of a fuel line disconnect!
Pretty solid setup!
Thank you! I've been fine tuning my main tool bag that I take with me since I was about 9 years old. It's served me well over the years. Do you have a tool bag that you keep with your vehicle? Thanks for watching!
Old School Millennial i drive a truck and I have a tool box in back. I have the essentials for my truck but I’m thinking about getting more things so I can help others along the road as well. Mainly I have things to change a tire. 3 ton floor jack and sockets and an impact. I keep a multi tool, straps, cables, compressor, Jack stands. Basic things. But I was inspired to do more after watching your video.
Great bag…how about a headlamp, hi-viz vest for roadside , gorilla tape?
Good suggestions. I should consider a headlamp. I usually have a flashlight and safety vest in my truck.
Great video stay consistent
Only thing I would recommend is duck tape, carb cleaner, and compressed air can. I drive a old car so I have a set up nearly identical as yours.
All good ideas. I have an electric compressor that I keep in my truck and duck tape as well. I have carried a bag like this since I started driving. My first car is a 70' chevelle. All these tools come in handy.
Great video! I went to Harbor Freight and made a complete kit with a battery jump box for just over $200. It's already saved me a couple times while exploring fire roads. Also great for working on mountain bikes out on the trail. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks, man! My tool bag is has helped me out of so many situations too. It pays to be prepared. Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice setup man... amazing how much stuff will fit in those “go bags”...
Thanks man! It really is, it's so nice to have what you need when you need it.
What brand is that bag and what is the exact size of it if you don’t mind me asking? Your video has really inspired me me to put together “go bags” for our vehicles and I’m also putting one together for all my lawn equipment as well. 👍👍👍 just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to help Us viewers out... stay safe brother...
That's not a bad kit.
I don't mess with zipties, I carry safety wire. I always have a test light in addition to a multimeter.
Thanks for the tips!
Super cool and insightful 👍 learned something
Great setup bro. I like it’s a tool bag and not so much a survival bag. A few too many sockets, but that’s me. 👍🏼
Thanks, man!
Great collection!!
Thanks, It's gotten me out of a lot of jams!
About socket wrench: it's advisable to have a small ratchet for the 1/4 set and then the1/2 ratchet perhaps with just the deep socket set?
Subed just for your channel name.
Well presented video, but the kit is a bit over kill for me. Personally, I only need metric sockets and wrenches, and have an adjustable spanner for if something else crops up.
I guess the main difference is that I hate working on cars lol. I am only going to try to do some very basic repairs roadside so just don't need that range of tools..So in addition to a stripped down version of your kit, I also carry jump leads ( long and heavy duty) and one of those small jump starter packs which I don't trust entirely yet, plus the normal tire repair/changing tools.
In addition to the consumables you mentioned, I also carry some Radweld Plus to stop coolant leaks, a roll of rescue tape and a few hose clamps, a couple of tubes of super glue, plus some two part epoxy..
Thanks for sharing what you carry. I understand what you mean about not fully trusting the jump starter pack yet. I have one and feel the same way.
The only thing, missing is are small jack great video! 👍
You're right! I actually carry a jack in my truck, but it won't fit in the bag, haha.
Nice truck man! Review?
Like that green screwdriver and to use as pry bar, what type/brand is it?
The big green and white screwdriver is an old SK that I've had a long time. I'm not sure if they sell them anymore but you could probably find one on eBay. Another good brand for a big screwdriver is Snap On but they are a little expensive.
@@OldSchoolMillennial ok, great. Looking on ebay but several sizes. What is the length of yours?
3 tire gauges....Nice
Where did you find your wrench roll?
Nice bag setup. Mine is very similiar . I also keep a old set of brake pads with several thousand miles left on them just incase i was hauling heavy loads.a battery terminal brush. A decent gear puller for flywheels, timing chain gears, etc. advance auto has a basic one for 10.00 bucks, the two arm type.
Your bag is nice. What kind is it.i switch back to toolbox as i was ripping through tool bags.
Nice, man. Thanks for sharing! It pays to be prepared. My bag is an old Craftsman bag that was given to me about 15 years ago. I'm not sure if they make them anymore.
What brand of bag and what size is it .
This is a craftsman brand bag. I have had it over 15 years, I don't know if they make one like it anymore. There are some options Home Depot. Also, ive found that some HVAC technician bags are pretty well organized if you want to save up for something like that.
A3/8 fleax head socket wrench
That's a good one to include.
Maybe just some clear safety glasses
great setup, i'll be having a roadtrip using an old car. thanks for this video, i will copy yours and i think you should add duct tape and carry more zipties. here in my country i need to use a big heavy duty metal tool box and use a thick bike chain combination lock wrapped around in a thick metal frame inside my car trunk so that thieves who break to my car will have a hard time. for me tools are expensive and carefully planned to buy, every single thing is important, i love my tools. sorry for my english 😁 it took me 5mins to make this comment 🤣
Thank you! I keep duct Tape inside my truck along with more ties. This tool setup has saved many times. Thanks for sharing your tool box plan. What country are you from?
0:13 Goddam dude work on ye first moped? The tool bag is bigger than the moped! Yeah, "take care of any problems" on the way', jump out and reuild a carburetor, stop off at th local garage and rebuild a engine. Damn! Take a lesson from the bikers. That big bag would probably decrease my gas mileage by 5 mpg. Seriously, dude my truck tool-bag is pretty much the same size. I'm always tryin ta down-size it.
Lot of redundancy here
Wera Tool Check und plus leatherman surge fixed anything from Kabels to my motorcicle
Nice! I carry the Leatherman Wave with me in my work bag, great knife!
You are missing the tie wraps and duct tape
Good catch on the ducked tape. I keep in my truck, but I do keep zip ties in the bag, I failed to pull them out.
