SAN DIEGO! I know it’s tempting to move home but you’ve spent so much time, energy and money to get everything across to experience a life in North America that you owe it to yourselves to explore it and enjoy establishing another year in a place you fought so hard to be. The UK isn’t going anywhere, your friends and family will understand that you want to stay and give it a full shot, and your children will adapt so easily wherever you end up. Enjoy the ride guys, it’s a joy to watch you and your family thrive together 🫶🏻

If I was in your shoes, I would move back to the UK in spring because like you said, there’s nothing stopping you from having the summer holidays in SD when they’re old enough to remember it, Saint can get settled in school at the same time as everyone else and they can have all the childhood memories with their cousins. The US is going anywhere when you’re older and you can visit whenever!

The U.K. isn’t going anywhere either? & they are already in the US at the moment and all the effort of moving over the the US. THIS is the time for them to try it out. It’s not easy just moving your life back and forward. They ARE settled in the US.
Not to mention The U.K. is so depressing. What do we have here? Literally what is there here to come back to? Cost of living here is ridiculously expensive.
California has a completely different lifestyle. The weather makes a HUGE difference. You can go to the beach every day after school, spend hours playing in the sand, learning to surf. Or coming home, having a BBQ or going to a friends house and spending the evening in the back garden as the friends play in the pool. Go to the outdoor shopping malls. The schools are MUCH better than the schools here. You can go for hikes, so many great hiking trails. Not to mention you can travel around the US easier doing and visiting so many nice places!
You can do NONE of that in the UK because the weather is always so awful. The kids end up staying in playing Xbox and addicted to their phones. With a tiny tiny little back garden. Nah, America is so much better.

Commenting as a mum who moved to the US with a 3 month old, and later back to the Uk with a 2.5 year old I SO regret not giving the US a few more years, especially California. The uk called us back in the exact same way it is doing for you ( family, school, work etc) and yes those things are lovely now, but they’d also have been right here waiting for us WHENEVER we decided to return. Now we’re back in the old routine etc I wish we’d not rushed it. We all miss so many things about the American way of life, and will likely move back over again within the next few years. It’s hard when you’ve lived in two places as you’ll forever feel like half of your heart and life is elsewhere, and the “what if” never goes away. California is so special, I think you’ll always regret not giving it a go whilst you have your visa and the kids are so young. Just my 2 pence ❤

Elle , 100% San Diego. I’m a British viewer and also adore the vision of you coming back to the UK and living in a dreamy cottage, and it really would satisfy that aesthetic that you and all of us love for you so much. HOWEVER, America has been calling you all of this time!! What is another year! This past year has flown by for you , and has for us too as your audience. Do you truly feel like you’ve accomplished everything you’d like to do? This was just a foundation for you. It might be expensive , BUT it is POSSIBLE for you. It is an option and it is feesable, you have to do it. You are acknowledging it may be hard and you might not live the “experience” , but what is the “experience”? You are making it your own. You , con and the kids living in San Diego is the experience , not you trying to fit into one that already exists. You’ve figured it all out so far. What is another year, make it the best one ❤

The U.K. is so depressing.

Sometimes family, friends, businesses, finances etc is enough to pull people back to the UK if that’s where they have moved from, or simply don’t see living abroad as a long term plan whether it’s for financial situations or something else. Food is 2 times the price in America than the UK… 120 dollars for nail extensions… houses in San Diago are extortionate and if your renting it’s dead money… moving back to the Uk would mean a better quality of life for a smaller amount of money.. yes.. the weather is nicer but living in America is sooooo different to holidaying there. Ok, guys, you made the HUGE move across the ocean to live in America, the least you can do is live the dream you came here for. If you want to live in San Diego, do it! I would hate for you to go back to England having only really experienced Houston, Texas, that's not really what you came here for. I live in both California and Texas and there is a world of difference between those two states. The extreme weather in Texas is no fun, whereas San Diego has perfect weather but you won't get the lovely Autumn weather you love so much. Something else to consider is that there is so much more opportunity in America for your children long term, which is why so many people come here. Either way, I will be watching your videos from wherever you are!
