Just saw this video is from last year but that's ok. Hefeweisen is a German wheat beer & of course I quit drinking about five years ago. I'm new to Duke Cannon & absolutely love their products so far. I've got two other brands of products but won't be using them as much. I love the scent of DC's Redwood beard oil!! I rode my HD Road King the other day & I tell ya I enjoyed that scent all day in my helmet! I look forward to trying more of their products!

I haven't tried the oil or balm I'm more skully's company type guy but i have to say i loooooove Dukes beard wash amazing stuff
I got into Duke cannon weeks ago. Never gave it a shot because I would find it in most dollar stores or pharmacies so I assumed it was cheap stuff. Was I stupid. Wish I found out of Duke cannon sooner.
I do come across with this company, when my 15 years old son did get one beard balm as Christmas present last year. Very nice product. Redwood smells great.

hefeweizen is a type of beer. They probably mixed in a beer recipe. I know they do a beer soap.

Captain: I think when ever you see castor oil as an ingredient, the oils will be thicker. These beard oils seem to coat the skin/hair a little better, and as a result last longer.

The Redwood beard oil seems to be quality stuff, and I really enjoy the scent. You really get your money's worth with the 3oz bottles (only $20!).
I've also used Duke's 'news anchor' pomade, which is pretty good too. They know what they're doing.

I noticed the oil has silica in it. I really like the oil and balm but not sure about the silica. Do you have an opinion?
Not on the silica, I don't. It is one of my favorite oils, though.
Got the Redwood scent. No complaints, but I would love if this came in their bourbon scent.

They do have it in the bourbon scent on their website and also amazon has it...its called oak barrel which is the same name as the bourbon solid cologne.

is oil better than wax?
Oil and Wax serve entirely different purposes. Oil conditions and softens the skin and beard. Wax is strictly for subduing the beard appearance. I very rarely use wax at all.
Now that I think of it, it's possible that you meant balm, rather than wax. The balm is both oil and beeswax. The beeswax in the balm is not heavy and, therefore, does not leave your beard stiff when using it. I typically apply beard balm a short time after using the beard oil. The balm helps with manageability.

Other reviewers don't care for the beard oil, said it made beard feel like straw.

I can’t use coconut oil due to allergies.
Looking at the ingredients of the beard oil, I don't see coconut oil listed
