Okay, there may be some debate about this video or my music... all I want to say is that I composed that music with my heart and soul back in 1991 when I was on fire in the video game industry... sharing that with a lot of people in a crowd like that was a wonderful experience. It took an arm and a leg to actually be there in the first place. It's music for the ears it's intended for! 8-bit FM forever!
The music you produced in that era was more than epic. People can talk what they want, and indeed: you might not be a stage performer. Who cares. Your music is what counts, and boy does it count. The best of the best. Seriously. I only enjoyed C64 gaming at that time because of the music. Cybernoid 2 is a decent game, but i really only played it to listen to the music :)

Jeroen Tel Robocop 3 was my only cartridge game for the C64 when it came out (I was like 8) and I loved this music and kept listen to from time to time since then. But until like 5 minutes ago I did not know that there are so many others who loved this theme as well! I have even lived in The Netherlands for a while :) Thanks for this great music!

Better believe it... hard-coded Assembly programmed, straight from the imagination to computer chip... Took me a while to get the whole system working back then, but I think it worked, when so many years later I got to play it in front of a crowd... =D

Still marveling at this tune in 2016 (nearly 2017!) Jeroen is in my top 3 SID chip composers of all time, and this track in particular really demonstrates what the C64 SID chip could be sculpted to achieve in the right hands and minds. Thanks for the music and the wonderful childhood memories!

It's 2021 , this song is my childhood, the beginning of a new vision to me . I was just a kid , I used to open the game and listen. I've never heard something like this .I'm 25 now and I still listen to it with the same feeling, I understand this song with feeling memories I've never even lived ... thank you from all of my heart for creating this ♥

Tel Jeoren Thank you for all your work. Especially for : Myth Supremacy Hawkeye Cybernoid 2 Divine tracks... Robocop 3 title... is the most epic track ever (although it has "Commando" near :-). For most (kids) at the time, it was the first impact with electronic (machine music) I still remember the day in 95 when I bought the Nes cartridge.. My first job was in a computer store. The C64 was one of the computers we had on display. I made a point of having Robocop 3 or Turbo Outrun looping for the entire day, nice and loud. :)
If I have to tell the most magical moment when I was a kid, it's the first time I opened the game Robocop 3 on my NES, the intro captivated me, then comes the menu with Robocop and a child on his shoulder. The music, the scene, so nicely blended. Although I haven't completed the game, but I kept opening it just to see the intro and the music again. Thank you so much Jeroen.

Jeroen Tel, still I cannot understand how he managed to do this masterpiece with those restrictions (SID, C64 memory). This song is sooo good. See that audience full of nerds, sitting next to the monitors, not showing emotions but with high pulse inside, saw-harmonics in spine. I miss my C64.

Big Thanks to Jeroen for sharing and following comments on UA-cam! Your C64 tunes were also very special to me. They were something beyond the blips and blops and opened my eyes to world of creativity such simple (and affordable) machine as c64 opens to people. It was also very 'revolutionary' to see you in 'maniacs of noise' - group devoted for writing music - i consider it one of firs 'cyber' music bands i've encountered (even though i've knew 'lone' composers before, this did put composing and making music to next level) I recall i've caught myself into playing games like shadow of the beast or supremacy solely for ... music :) Those pieces are really good, and it's very nice to see they 'survived' hard test of time. Composing music in comfort of home, without need of 'real' musicans (and their moods), without need to assemble costly and spacey studio, troublesome instruments and just plain 'waste' of time for learning simple riffs and then playing them over and over... people can say music like Jeroen did is this or that today, it may sound bit 'pathetic' with it's 'unlimited' vision-like style (like many people quote music was often much much better and promising much much more than game it advertised) , but now when we sit nex to 8 core , 64Gb ram machines, doing CAD with dual SLI videocards , designing cars , machinery parts, doing fluid simulations or programming robot workflow - don't ve live at least a bit in future those musical pieces envisioned? :) greetings and thanks for ... giving your arm and leg to actually get where we are!
I knew I heard the name Jeroen Tel somewhere before in my childhood....it took me a coffee and cigarette to finally remember ...you along with Mr. Hubbard made some of the best SID chip tunes for my beloved C64 / 128 and Amiga games !!!!! - this was a freaking blast from the past ! Thanks Jeroen !

MG, you share the initials with Martin Galway, one of the guys who inspired me to become a video game composer. I still feel the raindrops dripping off of me cycling to my friend's house miles away with Beaufort Wind Force 10 to get a copy of the game Rambo First Blood Part 2 (just for the music). And I remember trying to bash Martin for it at the Commodore Show 1988 in London for it not having enough drums! :-) (I did mean well!) (And handed him a copy of the first Maniacs of Noise music sample disk!) :-) Fanboy much? Me? Music? NO! :-D

Buntalan Hulu it's ok to say you don't understand it, or why people like it. For many it is nostalgic and fun. In your country, maybe the commodore 64 was too expensive, but in the US and Europe it was very popular. Everyone who played games back then did it on a c64. These are the songs of gamers youth, extremely well written and programmed. The commodore 64 had a special sound chip which could only produce three sounds simultaneously, so in a way it is like a guitar with three strings. Given the limitations of the chip and what you hear here, the least you can do is appreciate the technical achievement. Also the man who designed the chip went on to create Ensoniq and create world renowned keyboards. Sometimes a little understanding goes a long way.
I remember the times when the power of 8-bit chips wasn't enough to render this awesome tune correctly resulting in the slightest lags between the notes making this tune sound even more awesome and non-trivial. So nostalgic.

Your C64 tunes were also very special to me. They were something beyond the blips and blops and opened my eyes to world of creativity such simple (and affordable) machine as c64 opens to people. It was also very 'revolutionary' to see you in 'maniacs of noise' - group devoted for writing music - i consider it one of firs 'cyber' music bands i've encountered (even though i've knew 'lone' composers before, this did put composing and making music to next level)
I recall i've caught myself into playing games like shadow of the beast or supremacy solely for ... music :) Those pieces are really good, and it's very nice to see they 'survived' hard test of time.
Composing music in comfort of home, without need of 'real' musicans (and their moods), without need to assemble costly and spacey studio, troublesome instruments and just plain 'waste' of time for learning simple riffs and then playing them over and over... people can say music like Jeroen did is this or that today, it may sound bit 'pathetic' with it's 'unlimited' vision-like style (like many people quote music was often much much better and promising much much more than game it advertised) , but now when we sit nex to 8 core , 64Gb ram machines, doing CAD with dual SLI videocards , designing cars , machinery parts, doing fluid simulations or programming robot workflow - don't ve live at least a bit in future those musical pieces envisioned? :)

I knew I heard the name Jeroen Tel somewhere before in my childhood....it took me a coffee and cigarette to finally remember ...you along with Mr. Hubbard made some of the best SID chip tunes for my beloved C64 / 128 and Amiga games !!!!! - this was a freaking blast from the past ! Thanks Jeroen !
This goes so hard! I remember playing Robocop III in 1993, on my NES 3, losing my mind at the music.

MG, you share the initials with Martin Galway, one of the guys who inspired me to become a video game composer. I still feel the raindrops dripping off of me cycling to my friend's house miles away with Beaufort Wind Force 10 to get a copy of the game Rambo First Blood Part 2 (just for the music).
And I remember trying to bash Martin for it at the Commodore Show 1988 in London for it not having enough drums! :-) (I did mean well!) (And handed him a copy of the first Maniacs of Noise music sample disk!) :-)

Buntalan Hulu it's ok to say you don't understand it, or why people like it. For many it is nostalgic and fun. In your country, maybe the commodore 64 was too expensive, but in the US and Europe it was very popular. Everyone who played games back then did it on a c64. These are the songs of gamers youth, extremely well written and programmed. The commodore 64 had a special sound chip which could only produce three sounds simultaneously, so in a way it is like a guitar with three strings. Given the limitations of the chip and what you hear here, the least you can do is appreciate the technical achievement. Also the man who designed the chip went on to create Ensoniq and create world renowned keyboards. Sometimes a little understanding goes a long way.

I remember the times when the power of 8-bit chips wasn't enough to render this awesome tune correctly resulting in the slightest lags between the notes making this tune sound even more awesome and non-trivial. So nostalgic.
