I love Donuts with the dean lol. Classes are a perfect size. It is interesting how you are apart of all 5 different school until you can decided what area of interest you want focus on. Giving back to the community is so incredibly important. I look forward in visiting.
My daughter is very interested in Tulane but I’m worried about all the hurricanes. There have been at least 4 this summer/fall that have hit Louisiana right? What happens as each storm approaches? Do the students evacuate for a week at a time?
Most hurricanes are not bad. They're just windy rainstorms, pretty much. For the ones that are bad, the severity just depends on where you are in relation to the hurricane. Typically during hurricane season, we board up our windows or close shutters to protect the glass at our house. If the hurricanes are severe enough, they cancel school. From this point on, you will have enough time to evacuate and stock up on needs. I'm not in college yet, but I would assume they would also shut down the campus. Since we had virtual school this year, doing our online work was also exempted, since there was a power outage during a hurricane in November. So yes, we are given time off in Louisiana for when hurricanes happen. I believe the schools in my parish have a whole week set aside for "hurricane days". I hope I answered your questions and soothed your worries, but if I did not, please feel free to ask some more!
3 weeks back, I received a mail from Tulane university saying congratulations the admission committee are very impressed with my application, but due to covid 19 they will be doing thing differently. I also had online session with the director of the PhD Program where i was briefed on the department and research areas. Does that mean i am accepted?
