Poor Pat he has alot of new enemies, these include: DHL, UPS and his biggest enemy of all Email and Internet messaging which means less postcards are being sent.

I joined Postcrossing, it's sending mail to strangers in foreign countries and recieving cards from other strangers, it's a lot of fun :D

Don't know why but reminiscing this as a kid and I burst into tears. Maybe it's the nostalgia that now at 37 you will never experience what you had then again.
Used to watch this early 6am before school in the Philippines. I remembered mom trying to wake me up when I fell asleep on the couch withmy school uniform on... It was dubbed in my native language (filipino/tagalog) back then. Nowadays they don't air these stuff anymore, and kids now watch those johnny johnny cgi bullcrap. THIS IS quality media for preschoolers, not cgi subpar nursery rhymes and stuff

There's a specsavers ad in Australia atm and it has postman Pat breaking his glasses and driving off and all hell breaks loose, me (21) my brother (17) and my dad (47) all broke out into song trying to remember the lyrics, this is so awesome!! My childhood

That's usually the case. This version embodies Britain to me, like very few other songs do.
The fact that he gets up in the morning for work without crying over it, has a black cat, enjoys an average-paying job that involves meeting the same people everyday and briging letters in a van, but he stíll considers himself blessed and lucky to have this wonderful job that he loves and he tries to enjoy every moment...(I mean, if you forget about the British stereotypical self-pity and self-depricating-humour that, as far as I know, isn't in this) and only focus on the fact that this character proudly admits to loving his average-paying job and has nó ambition to ever climb higher on the status-scale, and still he is happier than anyone could be, thát is British.
And the reason the new version is awful, is because it's Americanized. The innocent love for the job has turned into the ambition to win X-factor (in the movie) and the sandpaper-filter-effect screen has changed into cold CGI.
Pat has become less calm and more agitated and hurried, instead of small things turning into a big thing, a moment to enjoy special things (like a leaf landing on his head or perhaps forgetting to post a letter, I'm just mentioning random things here, I don't know if those things happened in the movie) being a big thing, they now focus (in the movie) on his style, he gets makeovers, he needs to be turned from an ugly duckling into a swan and then admired and then pushed from his pedestal again. It's just awful. This postman Pat has a soul and that stays alive. The American one never had a soul in the first place.
Are you sure the new version is Americanized? You are talking about the special delivery service makeover one too right? I have seen clips of the rebooted series and it does feel out of place with speeding up the show. Yes, it's nice that the stop motion got faster but it feels jarring and Season 2 to me perfected the stop motion without the need to rush everything
This is strangely soothing and relaxing to me and IDK if that's the nostalgia for this show talking.

It’s crazy how graphics and budgets for children’s television have evolved so much since the original run of postman pat, the fact that the quality of this show is beat by amateur animators nowadays is amazing to see how quickly technology develops and becomes cheaper due to new technology, the CG from the postman pat 2014 movie is quality that high budget blockbusters in the 80s failed to achieve since its fully cg which would’ve cost too much money back then. Old television programmes like this really make me fall in love with the history of technology and animation all over again.

Such wholesomeness has never been recreated.
Take note TV writers. You don't need overly fanciful and elaborate plots to make a great show. This was simply a programme about the daily adventures of a postman and his cat, but it changed my life forever!
