So learning from the comments the Photor seems to also has punch through, great to pair with void hole. A lot also mentioned that zekti apoc is good but I prefer the hitscan from Photor. However I will give it a chance and share my opinion again about it in the future.
@@kaplou9716 I don't have one myself, but looking at the stats it's clear that the Apoc is clearly king in raw damage, but it's also the shortest range (even shorter range than the cryophon!). If you have something to hold enemies in place (like void hole, or someone in Amesha using the slow, etc) then it probably is by far the best dps gun. If fighters are still moving around at full speed, though, that short range is going to be a pain to work around.
@@kedolan4992 The falloff damage isn't even noticable from my experience. The only thing that was affecting my TTK at Long ranges (like 4k meters+) was the travel time making me miss shots. But whenever a fighter flew a predictable path, the guns would tear em up regardless of the range.
@@kaplou9716 That really depends on the gun I guess. My brother has cryophons on his side turrets, and if a fighter is at anything past knife fighting range they do jack all damage. If the enemy is right up close though, it's a 1-2 shot kill, on most fighter types.

I'll give it a try today, a tactic i've adopted that seems to work for me is when the fighters go red I begin to back away, I don't weave but straight back, this also works better if you have gunners and makes it easier for them to target the fighters and a lot of the times it makes the fighters fly in a straight path in the front of you, plus it takes them out of range of the crew ships healing because they fly slower than the fighters.
if you turn around and fly away from the fighters they will end up coming from the back and fly straight infront too xD i used to shoot them like that lolz
Thanks for the info. I’m not sure if photor feels as good on console, but I shall farm one and try it. Railjack kinda reminds me of No Man’s Sky’s space combat, where beam weapons and close range shotguns are king.

Yes I do, I did another test a little later in this same video where I attacked it without weakening and it only did like 3/4 of the damage not sure if u saw it
also you have to take into account the double dip bonus of photor dmg bonus. you get 30% of whole dmg on top of both elementals separately. so in the end 160%. what i think is the problem with photor is the hard aiming and hitting
i got 29.8 zetki photor mk3 and carcinox zetki mk3 59.8 but it seems that carcinox apply more status per sec in my testing and its way more quicker than photor for FA
Turning pilot doesn't turn the side turrets if people have gunner 2 perk. I've spent quite a bit of time on gunner turrets and can say that it really isn't an issue when a pilot is moving around a lot as generally, that means they're avoiding the pods too which means I can spend more time on the turrets and less cleaning out the ship.
Does the movement and boost effect you at all as the gunner and the gunners can get the pods too, since they like to curve around the sides. I don't play gunner as much as the pilot but I remember having a hard time when the pilot moving around a lot so correct me if I am wrong. Thanks
@@x3lplive I mean, the pilot drifting does effect aiming, but if the pilot is keeping distance from pods to give more of a chance to kill them before they board I think in the end, it's better if the pilot is moving. I think of it like, if I'm the pilot, I need time to aim too and as much time as I get to aim, the turrets do as well. So as long as the pilot doesn't just think they're supposed to keep drifting all over and avoiding everything, they should be fine. I guess it's up to your playstyle though. On gunner, I'm pretty good at working with whatever I get, as long as the gun is half-decent lol.

I haven't had to board a crewship in the veil in a while. fully leveled zekti fw artillery can one shot a cewship - but you need a dorsal or ventral shot. if you hit the engines your SOL.
@@x3lplive dorsal is the top of the ship. Central is the bottom. Avoid the engines at all costs. For me I think the best shot is right on the hatch on the back belly of the ship. The only softening we do typically, if at all, is to take out the engines, but we still 1 shot with no problem. We mostly run Gian Point. Maybe we're getting a buff from something else, but if we are it's consistent. Ran 5 - 6 missions on Gian in the last couple days and only had to take a second shot on maybe 2 crew ships, and those were admittedly sloppy shots.

They call weapons "rolls" since they have random numbers . Zetki photor as an example, can get up to 30% damage buff . Its also can have 1 % only if your luck is bad

For example if u unveil a riven and you get God rolls even without rolling, since it is rng or luck based we will consider that a lucky roll if that makes sense hahaahahaha but that is how I would interpret it
Still gonna stick to the Zetki Apoc though. Once you've learned the lead (the lead indicator of the game is actually wrong, literally ALL the time, even if they fly straight) it's super easy to hit, deals tons of dmg, has the both best damage types, bursts healing bubbles just as fast... nothing to not love about Zetki Apoc :D I've now switched my gunner turret to Carcinnox though, as the cryophons really suck post-patch.... was thinking about the Zetki photor as well, as i also have one with 28,9% dmg, but i don't trust random side gunners to be that precise 😂

I don't really wanna build a gun I'm not gonna use as both good blueprints and titanium are rare -.- Meh, if the dps would nearly double I'd just build an mk2 for now and dismantle it once I have the rest of the resources.
yes Apoc is good but my problem with it is that it is not hitscan =x hahahahahaa and i miss a lot on far away enemies. the carcinnox is faster so i miss less and well now the photor is hit scan so don't really need to think about its flight path
@@x3lplive It being not-hitscan isn't what causes the apoc to miss at long ranges, it's that the range on the apoc is WAY shorter range than the carcinox. The Carcinox Mk 3 has a damage falloff range of 2,000-4,000, while the apoc has 500-1,000 range. It's max range is only 1/4 that of the carcinox!
@@kedolan4992 damage falloff i believe will mean that the damage is reduced to its minimum damage at a certain range. even at ranges way beyond 1000m u can still hit with the apoc just lower damage. the carcinnox feels better with long range is because the bullets has faster flight speed so closer to hitscan than the apoc. i think i will talk about it in todays video oops spoiler =x
@@x3lplive That's true, but I do know that the weapons absolutely have a max range after which they just fizzle into nothing. I usually spray shots at un-alerted enemy fighters at long range to try to get their attention, so I don't have to fly all the way to them, for instance. I'm not sure what the range is since at that distance there's no targeting info, but there is clearly a point where "all of a sudden" my bullets are in range to aggro them, where as before they weren't. With the falloff range/projectile speed being so much lower on the apoc, I'd bet it's "max" range is probably also a good bit lower.

hahahaha i love the carcinox too, I have it on my sides! but i do think that photor might be abit better, it can also use to proc to one shot with artillery, I think i breaks bubble just abit faster and it should work the same with munition vortex but with photor you can also use void hole with it since it have punchthrough :3
@@x3lplive With an Artillery avionic and a direct hit to any of the 3 engines, you don't even need to armor strip in the Veil anymore to get a one-shot crewship.

i tried the apoc before but i am not a fan of their flight speed that is the only thing that i dislike about it. so for far enemies i usually miss most of my shots D:
@@x3lplive I like Apoc in the pilot seat and Carcinox or Photor on the side guns. I get at close range sort of like the Cryophon so it is easier to hit them. Apoc is good when you are also using the critical mods since the Apoc has high critical chance.
Zekti apoc mk3 and carcinirox mk3 60% fire rate boosts. Work for me. The photor just wasn't "cutting" it damage wise for me. My accuracy is on point. I don't miss. Still looking for that God roll reactor.
To be the step up from those is that photo is hitscan and I didn't share this in the video but it also has punch through so you can combo with void hole too

Zekti apoc are actually the strongest RJ guns rn if you got a maxed out zekti predator, hyperstrike, and section density.

I remember regretting making zetki photor cuz of that sweet 29.7% dmg but now it feels okay-ish
before the buff it heats up too fast and it was hard to use in my opinion. so now it is jsut much viable

i agree and also use apoc, but there is definitely some disadvantages. Overheat and dropoff is horrible.
I use Zekti Carcinnox in the front and Vidar Carcinnox at the sides. Both are pretty good.

Carcinox in Pilot + Artillery or Munition Vortex is bonkers. It can 100% 1 hit Crewship and it's the best for solo playing.
