Great question! I'll do another video on it. Quick answer: no - MIDI voices add on top of whatever voices the preset is generating via auto-harmony. You can turn off auto voices by selecting the single oval in the inversion panel to get pure MIDI voices. There is also a basic triad detector on the MIDI input which allows you to change key center by playing chords. In the current version, this detector is always on, but I plan to have a switch for it in the future because I like polytonality!
Hi there! I haven't been able to get GarageBand to recognize it either. I suspect this may be because it's an AUv3 "music effect" that requires MIDI routing, and perhaps GB doesn't support this type of effect. You can still use Harmonizr in GarageBand via Inter-App audio, but sadly it doesn't seem like GarageBand handles MIDI routing. Depending on what you're trying to do, I might suggest giving AUM a try. It seems to have very complete AUv3 and MIDI support.
Same thing here, I cannot seem to find a way of setting up my own harmonies, please make a tutorial with the new GUI , I cannot find the menu you are showing . Somebody please help .
Hi. I have the app now but I can’t seem to play it using MIDI. The MIDI button is not shown and when I long press a chord type, such as “7” it doesn’t go into chord editing mode. I can send you a screen shot if that would help. Help, LOL.
swancakes so glad you’re enjoying it! A couple of people have asked for gender control, and the algorithm definitely makes it possible. I’ll try to get it into the next release! As for using it live, if you wind up using it, please make videos! I think it would really help to spread the word!
Hi, I’m really interested to buy your app, but it doesn’t seem to be available in the AppStore in the Netherlands. Is there a way to make it available here?
Hi there! It’s probably a bug. I have an update coming out very soon, and I’d love to hear if it covers your issue. It’s currently in beta, and there’s a link to it over on the Facebook page. You can message me over there: facebook.com/harmonizrApp
Hello there. Is it possible to receive midi notes from cubasis or Auria Pro so I can kinda automate where and when I want my harmonies to jump in? I wave midi songs and want to send the piano track that has the chords. Is it possible?
Hi! Depeding on how cubasis using audio units, it may or may not be possible. Harmonizr ships with two separate audio effects, "Harmonizr", and "Harmonizr+MIDI". If your DAW supports routing midi data to an AU, and you're using the Harmonizr+MIDI Audio Unit, then it ought to work, but I've never tried. It seems like it may take some time for the standard to be fully implemented by everyone. But this is definitely something I envision supporting at some point.
Hi André. There is not currently a level control exposed in the UI. It was a feature, along with other mixing options, that didn't feel essential for the first release. It will definitely be in the next one!
Paul Parker it still exists, but the interface has changed. Go to settings -> Auto-Harmony. There’s a keyboard display where you can drag the highlighted notes. Change scale degree with the stepper control and the highlighted keys will update to reflect that scale degree. I’m sorry this isn’t better documented. I promise, I’ll have a new tutorial soon! Also, if you get a chance to try out the new editor, can you tell me if you prefer this way or the old way? I have no idea how many people actually use this feature😬
@@MattRobbinsMusic Thank you for your answer......i want to create my own presets, so the old way seems to be clear, with the new way,you can't create a new preset.in autoharmony,if i change the scale....I quit autoharmony...I come back in autoharmony, and my scale is not keep ,and is reset to 1.In your demo, when you change your presets ,the keyroot change.for me, when I change the preset, harmonizr keep the same keyroot that is in autoharmony. otherwise, harmonizr is a very good app !!!!!!
Hi Paul (and anyone else reading this) please accept my invitation to beta test the next release! Apple has enabled public links to beta testers, and here it it: testflight.apple.com/join/hpE12qSa
Really wish there was a demo version of this
Can you go into detail on the MIDI input a bit more? Does the note being played override the preset?

The app isn’t showing as an AU effect in GarageBand on my phone. Am I missing something?

Hey its not on the App Store anymore!! Will you please bring it back??
Love the app and I am trying to find ways to use live with my band, great work! Is it possible to add a gender control?

Probably super obvious but I’m not understanding what functions the ‘H’ (logo) button and ‘up arrow’ button provide... Having fun though!
