Hi Martin, I really like the Twizzy my brother had one for 4yrs in Brussels, I drove it a few times, the big problem with it was the lack of side windows, when it rained everything got wet, so to see yours with fitted side windows is a lot better, it would be great if you could see if you could get one of the new electric Micolino bubble cars to test they look amazing, and I’d love to see what you guys think about them, love the videos 👍🏻
We are super excited about what Microlino is doing and think they would be a great fit for London. We have discussed them with Arthur in this video: ua-cam.com/video/h9hl1BY3mD0/v-deo.html
Really like your vlog, giving interesting informations and comparisons to other EV possibilities. Good job, thanks. Leaving an Abo and wishing you more followers! 👍
We got a Twizy 2 months ago, imported from Korea to here in Cyprus. We love it, it's great fun to drive and it gets used every weekday for a commute. I think the windows in your first Twizy were rattling because the velcro straps that stop them from moving about looked to be undone 😀
You are correct but even after reapplying one of the velcro pads, we found them to be a bit cumbersome to get completely solid. Cyprus is definitely the right place for a Twizy!
Wouldn’t a Citroen Ami be a better bet now? Bigger inside, better weather protection, Type 2 charging and still quadricycle? What are Wisely pedalling the Twizzy’s for?
The Ami definitely has some things going for it and we would be keen to try one out. However, the top speed of barely 28 mph is a severe disadvantage, limiting it to strictly city centre use, whereas the (more powerful) Twizy can easily handle out of town commutes...
The total battery pack has a capacity of 6.1 kWh (with most likely less being usable). However, even if we assume that the whole 6.1 kWh get you 45 miles in combined use, you are looking at about 7.4 miles / kWh. An i3 would get somewhere around 5 in city use.
"Given my level of patience, I simply choose to disregard that piece of information and press on at full speed"...!! I think we'll have to start calling you "Maverick Martin" from now on, fella...! 🤣
We looked into this before making the journey. The Highway Code (specifically Rules 253 to 274 on the use of motorways) states that motorways must not be used by pedestrians, holders of provisional motorcycle licences, riders of motorcycles under 50 cc (4 kW), etc. There are two versions of the Twizy. This being the more powerful version with a top speed above 50 mph and 13 kW it is well above the 50cc equivalent and according to our understanding there are no rules to prohibit it from going on the motorway - registered as a heavy quadricycle (L7e) as opposed to a light quadricycle (L6e) which would not be allowed on the motorway. Lastly, pretty much the entire section of the M4 within London is limited to 50 mph, so it's not like a Twizy would be travelling slower than the flow of traffic. We are happy to be corrected though in case we missed anything...

Every Twizy should have a PowerBox. 🙂
How many miles/KWh would a Twizzy achieve and how does it compared to the BMW i3?

On a 900 km Roadtrip through Germany, I achieve 8.87 kWh/100km = 7.005312 mi/kWh. But I avoided the Autobahn.
How much do they cost to import?
By this I mean how much would you charge me for getting one from Wisely this way?
Mine is 11 years old now and still used daily. Get a seat from a smart and the roadnumps will be gone. ;)
I bought one 5 years ago for £3k. No chance at that price now. It was fun but very basic.

You aren't allowed on the motorway in a Twizzy

Even in Germany, it is allowed to drive a Twizy on the Autobahn.
