Yeah it's definitely a type of pop-punk. I'm not sure Org-Core is an official genre but these are just bands that we felt personified punknews.org sound.
This is a fun idea, looking forward to seeing more of this series! Here's my ranking: S - D4/Latterman A - Nothington/Loved Ones B - Amchor Arms/Red City Radio C - Leatherface/Small Arms Dealer D - The Ergs!/Chinese Telephones I just can't get into anything Mikey Erg has done. No shade to the guy, he's an important part of punk over the last 20 plus years. Just not for me.
Can totally understand that, what are some good Red City Radio tracks? I wasn't feeling them at all but I know a lot of people love them, lmk if there are some early standouts. as always dude thank you so much for watching!
@@PunkRockRadar Honestly I only ever liked the first ep and full length from RCR. If you feel like they're too country sounding you might not be into it but at least listen to the debut ep To the Sons and Daughters of Woody Guthrie.
@PunkRockRadar Running, Jumping, Standing Still (one song), Books About Miles Davis and Extra Medium. I've always considered them more of Ramones-core than Org-core, one of the few Ramones-core bands i like but I totally understand not vibing with them
Anything D-4 released after Hopeless Records is medio-core, and they're my favorite band. Their best song on Civil War isn't as good as the worst song on Midwestern Songs
That's pretty funny, this exact sentiment came up recently when we were going over our "Bands that Sound Like D4" video we're working on. So you're definitely not alone, but Gainesville is a banger!
@@PunkRockRadar it's kinda like the Weezer conversation. So many fans (myself included) love Weezer, but view them as almost a different band after the blue album and Pinkerton. There's some good songs after Pinkerton, but there's not really any great Weezer albums after that period. But yeah, I agree Gainesville is a banger. It took me some time to warm up to, but there's no denying it's greatness. Cheers!
Love that Nothington got some love!! ...although your thoughts on leatherface are very controversial John 😅😅
I need to finish this series, I think we had 50 bands picked out!
I already know this is gonna be amazing
Hope it didn't disappoint! Thanks for watching
orgcore is just emo and pop punk for guys with beards
Interesting take, I don't completely disagree 😉
I'm confused. This stuff isn't pop punk?? I'm an 80s hardcore/SoCal guy and this all sounds like pop to me.

Round these parts we called it 'old man pop punk' before the orgcore name took hold.

The Ergs! are s-tier! This is madness lol
Any song recommendations? They just never resonated with me

Leatherface in D Tier is criminal

Coors Light was good enough for Stone Cold Steve Austin!
STONE COLD
That is a great point! The same can't be said for the BIO STEEL however
