I think that these tutorials are a good idea for them to continue and improve on, maybe extending to more aspects of the game and being more searchable like you mentioned

i love how this video feels like somebody reviewing some popular tv series theyre really dedicated to, but its just a bunch of mid tutorial videos almost nobody knows about that was probably made by people who only played minecraft for a total of 50 hours and half was to record the videos

Honestly, the only important tutorials for Minecraft would be the absolute basics, like placing blocks, movement, mining and crafting and maybe how to get to the nether. The ruined portals made it a bit easier to understand for new players, but it is still catastophically hard to understand.
I disagree that it's a good thing telling new players how they can use blocks in different ways. That's imo the whole point of Minecraft, figuring this sh*t out on your own. If Mojang were smart, they would make a collaborational effort (or a sponsor thing) with their most well known content creators to provide tutorial videos about the aspects they're the best at. I could see people like Grian making a video about building and color-gradients, Mumbo Jumbo making an introductionary video about Redstone, etc. You'd get quality videos that are fun to watch, made by the people for the people.
These videos aren't made by mojang btw. Most companies hire out smaller external firms to make videos, to which THEY then hand out to a bunch of freelancers. It's the same type of industry that manages social media accounts. People at Wendy's don't manage Wendy's twitter, it's just a random guy a marketing firm give money for X amount of posts. Videos are most likely made by a uni student who gets paid minimal wage whom has never played minecraft and doesn't know how the observer works - only for the next bunch of similar videos uploaded to THEN tell the next guy the same thing. It's just a chain is disconnected information being spread out from person to person, hence the video only being about pistons. Because that's what was uploaded 10 years ago.

I am not surprised. This is effectively a marketing thing, at least as far as the entities involved (Microsoft and Mojang). And marketing always messes things up. My impression is it was a task given to someone in marketing rather than those closely related to the development. The ones that were good (ish) were probably the result of 'hey, you play and know how to make things pretty, right?"
I haven't read through any of the rest of the comments yet - but one thing I did dislike about the videos about Biome Discovery (near 7:00), is that not once did it tell you how to FIND said biomes. Yes, it mentioned the biomes, but not how, when or where to find them. I would have appreciated that if I was a new player. I take it for granted now that you walk/fly/run/rail/boat/portal, but a new player is unlikely to know all of these different ways to get to biomes. Sometimes too little information is nearly as bad as too much. Other than that, I didn't have any real criticism of the videos, aside from them generally not going far enough - given the target audience, I guess there's only so far you can go.
9:03 something ive noticed is how Awful the survival bases are in these videos, i would probably not have a tiny wooden square house with a single bed on my first night because id rather have enough room for base expansion from the start with a large room (and also i swear sheep just dont like me i can never get wool) and i cant believe how cramped this enchanting video base is like. youre telling me this video is supposed to make me think this person has at all got to diamond level gear, but their base is THAT tiny and bad
