That story struck home on a deeply personal level and caused me to empathize with Stannis. The Starks are overrated and Eddard is just stupid. Why Eddard expected to be treated fairly by Robert after that is beyond me. Seriously bad move for his family. It's possible that Eddard was quite a different person before his father and brother were killed. He has the sense of personal honor that Eddard does and believes in justice, but he is not fool enough (like Eddard) to believe that people like Littlefinger will play by the same rules. I'm actually hoping that Stannis wins the north in the 6th book. He has really come into his own since separating from Melisandre. I think that she will find that she is mistaken in him being Azor Ahai and discard him. I'm hoping he pragmatically adopts the northern religion and is accepted by the northmen...

It's unfortunate, because although the show doesn't really do Stannis justice, the actor is perfect for the role in my opinion. I think it's just the way he is portrayed by the writers that's a let down.
The throne is his by right, anybody who denies him is a traitor. why should he be nice to traitors? they should bend the knee or be destroyed by Stan the m an
Probably the most altered character from book to screen. I think the writers of Game of Thrones don't like Stannis Baratheon because Stannis would not like the writers. He would not approve of all the BS they throw into the show. They rob him of his sardonic sense of humor and instead portray him as Melisandre's cold, humorless puppet. From reading the books, I never got the impression that he knew he was responsible for the death of Renly. Stannis was haunted by the incident and his nightmares/insomnia grew worse as the story progressed. He also strikes me as an atheist. He doesn't even believe in the Lord of Light. Nor does he make his own men convert to his adopted religion. He is also never really about burning anyone but traitors (like Alester Florent), so when Davos removes Edric Storm, Stannis was secretly relieved. (Keep in mind that Edric Storm was begotten by Robert on Stannis' wedding bed. Still, Stannis was hesitant.) The burning people is more Selyse's & Melisandre's bag. And Selyse is totally cool with burning her own uncle (Alester)... Stannis is not rigid, as his letting the Wildlings through the Wall to settle on the Gift proves. He has a sense of humor, as funny as Dolorous Edd or Tyrion Lannister at times. And he is not a bloodthirsty guy, wanting to burn people and make shadows. He is the rarest of leaders who recognizes a real problem and sets out to do something about it without promise of personal gain. So, whether you prefer Stannis or Danaerys is a matter of whether or not you prefer the man who burns an occasional traitor or a woman whose dragons burn people at random... The writers of the show would rather develop the Littlepeter Baelish character (and his whores) than a conservative like Stannis. They did get one thing right though: Stannis leads from the front. He would be the first man off the boats and the first man up the ladder at the Battle of the Blackwater. Stannis is THE HERO of the story and who I would follow if I lived in Westeros... The Bastard of Bolton better watch out. Stannis just mopped the floor with the Iron Islanders and he is coming for you...
Lan Cester Thanks. The show is also missing the Proudwing story, which was really needed to make Stannis seem less Terminator, more human: "When I was a lad I found an injured goshawk and nursed her back to health. Proudwing, I named her. She would perch on my shoulder and flutter from room to room after me and take food from my hand, but she would not soar. Time and again I would take her hawking, but she never flew higher than the treetops. Robert called her Weakwing. He owned a gyrfalcon named Thunderclap who never missed her strike. One day our great-uncle Ser Harbert told me to try a different bird. I was making a fool of myself with Proudwing, he said, and he was right." Stannis Baratheon turned away from the window, and the ghosts who moved upon the southern sea. "The Seven have never brought me so much as a sparrow. It is time I tried another hawk, Davos. A red hawk."
Wow. He seems really cool in the books. I might just start reading the books thanks to you. I had never been interested in reading the books because I find the highly hedonistic focus distasteful and figured I wouldn't want to slog through so much of that in a bunch of tediously long books. From your description of Stannis though, the books seem to be much less enamored by all the immorality than the shows are.
I would let my 12 and 13-year-old daughters read the books, but they would never get through them. Too long. I have only seen the first 2 seasons of the show. Most of the adult material in the show is only hinted at in the books. Some of the adult material in the show (like all the Littlefinger/whores scenes, the Loras/Renly scenes, the Stannis choking Melisandre scene, the Joffrey/crossbow/whores scene, etc) is totally fabricated by the writers of the show. The books are written from certain characters' points of view. Littlefinger, Robb Stark, Stannis Baratheon are not point of view characters, which renders it impossible to be alone with those characters. Stannis is mostly seen through Davos. The writers of the show made a conscious decision to not include a lot of that material in the show and, instead, create scenes for Littlefinger and Ros, the red-headed whore character (who doesn't even exist in the books)...
Another thing is that in the books when he performed the blood ritual to kill the 3 kings, he used the leeches as an alternative to killing the boy who had king's blood, which I felt was an important showing of his character.
heffernantj Well I am 12 and I didn't find it too hard to get through the books. You just have to get really into it and don't stop reading at the boring bits of it :). *#StannisForTheIronThrone*
My woman got me a Stannis Baratheon sigil shirt. If it isn't in the wash, I'm wearing it. I think I'm about half a year ahead of the curve. If the writers don't (continue to) ruin Stannis' story, there will come a time during Season 4 when all of the Unsullied (show watchers) realize that Stannis is THE HERO of the story and start buying his gear. Here's to digging Stannis before he is cool...
[Out of character: I have not read the books and only watched the series (aside from accidentally seeing a little spoiler about Joffrey's fate in the next season). It wasn't long before the interactions between Davos and Stannis made me realize that Stannis was actually a good character. In essence, the GoT scriptwriters were unreliable narrators, and I saw through their unfavorable view of Stannis.]
I watched the first two seasons of the show before reading the books. I was intrigued by Stannis, but I did not understand him until I read the books...
Stephen Dillane does not play Stannis Baratheon, Stannis Baratheon plays Stephen Dillane, for he understand the character better than D&D. Dillane says Justice, D&D say Ambition. If you are ambitious you leave the wildlings take the Wall and then when the war in the south is over go there and convince them to pledge fealty if they want to get rid of wildlings (I mean the whole north, not only the wall)
Not entirely sure how they can so fundamentally miss the point of the character really. Tough but fair, he's no damn Bolton yet it almost seemed like the show wanted us to root for THEM? BOLTONS you fucking what mate? Speaking of which, their treatment of Ramsay is...weird. He's a dumb brute and they're trying to turn him into a Joker like character who gets away with everything. When the hell was the guy who hunted defenceless women in the woods for fun a tactical genius?
He did a great job playing Thomas Jefferson in HBO's John Adams also. Crazy to watch a clip of him playing Jefferson after watching GOT, that's for sure!
Veronica Panella You should also check out 'The Tunnel', it's a Sky Atlantic detective show, based on a Danish-Swedish show. That was my favourite role for him (after Stannis the Mannis).
Book Stannis should have been show Stannis just a few unnecessary quotes taken out because they weren't important for his character development such as "I never asked for this crown. Gold is cold and heavy on the head, but so long as I am the king, I have a duty … If I must sacrifice one child to the flames to save a million from the dark … Sacrifice … is never easy, Davos. Or it is no true sacrifice." "I never asked for this, no more than I asked to be king. Yet dare I disregard her? We do not choose our destinies. Yet we must ... we must do our duty, no? Great or small, we must do our duty." One of the most important ones and a personal favorite "That boy Viserys Targaryen spoke of return as well. He slipped through my fingers at Dragonstone, only to spend his life wheedling after sellswords. 'The Beggar King,' they called him in the Free Cities. Well, I do not beg, nor will I flee again. I am Robert's heir, the rightful king of Westeros. My place is with my men. Yours is in Braavos. Go with the banker, and do as I have bid." "As you command," Ser Justin said. "It may be that we shall lose this battle," the king said grimly. "In Braavos you may hear that I am dead. It may even be true. You shall find my sellswords nonetheless." The knight hesitated. "Your Grace, if you are dead - " " - you will avenge my death, and seat my daughter on the Iron Throne. Or die in the attempt." "And my favorite and a very sad one When I was a lad I found an injured goshawk and nursed her back to health. I was making a fool of myself with Proudwing, he said, and he was right…The Seven have never brought me so much as a sparrow."
Stannis may not be a nice character, but in the end 1) he is right when he claims he is the rightful king 2) he is the only one who wants to do something about the army of ice zombies threatening Westeron.
Simon D. Liebert 1. He's no more rightful king than any upstart. Baratheons seized power by force, if a no-name lord wins the iron throne, his relatives can also say that they are rightful heirs. 2. He's pretty much the only one who knows about the ice zombies.
xxlCortez The Night's Watch sent letters to all the Lords of Westeros. Like a true King, Stannis was the only one who responded. So, other Lords know about the Others (White Walkers). They just aren't going to do anything about it... Anyways, the asshats who write the show put him out of his misery with a chain of events that wouldn't even be possible in the books and would have been more effective if they had him let the Wildlings through the Wall, send Mance Rayder to Winterfell to extract the "Stark" girl, win some Northern support and mop the floor with the tantacles of the Kraken like he does in the books. His downfall would have been more precipitous... I'm wondering what Brienne of Tarth will think when she finds out she is a Kingslayer...
heffernantj The sole reason Stannis went to the Wall, because Melisandre, a sorceress who proved that her magic is real confirmed that they are indeed enemies, not just fairy tales. Without Melisandre, Stannis wouldn't give a shit. Don't write Stannis down so quickly, he isn't dead until his dead body shown, and even then it's not certain. If Brienne indeed killed him (which I kinda doubt) she hardly cares, since he sworn no loyalty to Stannis and she's already considered kingslayer because of Renly's death.
He is my favourite character. Yes I agree, the show doesn't do him justice. What I would really dislike is if he runs out of people with kings' blood, Mel might make him sacrifice Shireen ......
D&D: "We researched military tactics"- Like the ones that the greatest military commander in Westeros would use? Those military tactics are obviously some really good shit, since the 20 good men used them, too...
Reminds me of Philip II of Spain. Stern, puritanical, religious, burns heretics alive, has a massive navy, the only difference was that Philip actually got control of his kingdom and a massive Hapsburg Empire that kept the English, French, Venetians, Dutch, and the Northern Germans pissing themselves at night, whereas Stannis, after Blackwater, was relegated to a background contender for the throne.
STANNIS THE MANNIS IS THE RIGHTFUL KING. Daenerys Targaryen pursues the throne for shits and giggles. Stannis pursues the throne for he has a duty to the kingdom.
Stannis of house Baratheon first of his name king of the Andals the the Rhoynar and the First Men Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and protector of the realm
Stephen was an amazing choice for Stannis as an actor, and his appearance will always pop up in my head at the mention of Stannis in the books. Hopefully he gets more screen time in the new season!
I have a feeling its because of these two things; 1) The producers have seriously marginalized his character 2) His actor, SD, is a quiet guy who doesn't really like the limelight. He is also not that enthusiastic about GOT.
***** to be fair, he was never a very popular character with fans until the last episode of the fourth season, except for with a select few such as myself
+Xavieus Would you feel differently if Stannis had crept into Renly's tent and slit his throat himself? Just curious. The shadow baby was a targeted strike; only one person was killed using it, rather than the hundreds and thousands who would have died had the brothers battled.
+Daniel Patten D&D:"We researched military tactics"- Like the ones that the greatest military commander in Westeros would use? Those military tactics are obviously some really good shit, since the 20 good men used them, too...
I agree wholeheartedly; they have done him a great injustice. I feel like Stephen Dillane has the ability to portray the Stannis that GRRM wrote, but the writing for the character is just dull and lacks a lot of the "original Stannnis." They have wasted Dillane's talent. At least in my opinion. :)
TheMunchfan I agree with both of you but I think it's a little too early to throw around the "ruined" phrase Aubie. 'Tainted' would be a better use as Season 4 will tell all, if they balls up his arc it's bye bye.
I disagree, I've heard this so many times but after looking up most of what people claim to ruin him actually happened in the books in one way or the other. He even went further in the books by drawing his sword out to chop Davos heads off.. Then I hear people saying: " Book Stannis would never sentence Davos to death".. He's absolutely not a "ruined" character, while I feel they have done him some injustice in a couple of things I think they are looking for a character arc instead. In season 3 for example they wanted to show how much losing the Blackwater fight meant to him. I think he will get more popular towards the end episodes of season 4.
I don't recall the scene at the end of the video where it shows Stannis looking around at the 2:08-2:10 mark in season 2. Perhaps it was cut by the Stannis hating producers.
The actor is one of the best I've seen, he's perfect for the role of stannis, the show cast every character perfectly especially stannis and Tyrion, they might not be exactly like the books but both actors have their own way of playing the character which I absolutely admire
When I think of Melissandre's prophecy of stannis' vs what really happened, I think that Melissandre's prophecy had only caused the butterfly effect and turned the fate around.
The thing I love about Stannis is, he is not fighting because he WANTS the Iron Throne, he is fighting because he believes it is rightfully his. It is his sense of justice, not his ambition, that drives him.
Stannis and Renly's conflict, although short, is pretty symbolic and captivating when you think about it. None of them is extremely good or bad, they are litterally brothers, and yet they fight each other because of their determination to become kings due to completely opposite worldviews.
The siege on King's Landing shows how awesome Stannis actually is. At first I thought he was kinda dull, but he's the first in line all the way through the attack.
Stephen Dillane seems he actually liked his character early on. Interesting character and dialogues written by Martin himself gave him good material but later all turned to shit for his character. No wonder he hated doing last seasons.
Stephen Dillane didn't care what story was going on. He just read his script and did his duty...how stannis of him...
"The Emmy Award is mine, by right. All those that deny that are my foes."
If the writers didn't do such a shitte job of portraying him, maybe he would have actually enjoyed his time on GOT

hmm not sure really Tywin and Robb could easily fight with him on that account. Tywin andn Stannis are evil and Robb is for good.
Zach Lentsch yes he is never taking any pride or joy in his duty as the rightfull king.
*****
i dont see why people think he is evil. he is only doing his duty as the rightfull king. and he does not exactly relish in joy about it
agree to disagree...and "easily"????
It's unfortunate, because although the show doesn't really do Stannis justice, the actor is perfect for the role in my opinion. I think it's just the way he is portrayed by the writers that's a let down.
Yeah the writers hate him
‘The actor is perfect for the role in my opinion’
Tywin: *No that’s not an opinion it’s a FACT.*
The Thing about Stannis is he won't play the Game, he will toss the board away and lop the other player's heads off.
The throne is his by right, anybody who denies him is a traitor. why should he be nice to traitors? they should bend the knee or be destroyed by Stan the m
an
Kamelia Garcia Exactly.
Stannis is the Mannis, haters don't understand
David Benioff: "Hey Steve, here's the script detailing everything your character does in season 5."
Stephen Dillane: "A lie, take it out."
"Siege begins at sunrise" Don't forget to cheer for Stannis in the season finale! #TeamStannis
stevehitman it's not going to BE a siege, your grace... :(
salar KH We've lost...
salar KH :'(
Tyrion Lannister Why did you stop him at blackwater tyrion ???? :"((( whyy??? he would've been king right now :(
stevehitman :"(( He is my king anyway
dillane plays his role really believably
Lan Cester
Thanks.
We will never forget you Stannis, my favourite character, I am sorry D&D did not do you justice.
Stannis>Tywin.
Robert Baratheon Tyrion>Robert
Robert Baratheon an entire month and you finally realised it's too much paperwork? I wonder why I said "Tyrion>Robert"
no. tywin is the stronger man. stannis is a true soldier, tywin is a true lord. lord > soldier
redcodec Aerys was a lord, Robert was a soldier. Which one died during the Rebellion?
Brodie Wilson Technically, Tywin, the lord, helped Robert, the soldier, by taking King's Landing. Aerys was not like Tywin. He was just a psychopath.
Reading the comments in this video is how I regained the faith in humankind.
Stannis,
The Rightful King
I loved Stannis even before I read the books.
Thought he was great in the show, mainly through his loyal friendship with Davos.
I watched the first two seasons of the show before reading the books. I was intrigued by Stannis, but I did not understand him until I read the books...
Love stannis man I got the sigil mug :) I wanan get the shirt
My uncle hated stannis....that was until we burned him at the stake in the backyard
hahahahahaha...nice one
Hahah
Best actor and one of the best characters but sadly the worst writing for him :(
Stannis Baratheon truly the most important character in the entire series, books and show.everyone in the show will meet my fury.
How can you be Stannis without ending your sentence with a full stop.
Bend the knee or be destroyed.
Give the man his throne usurpers!!
Holy shit, I can't believe I'm actually seeing an interview with the actor who plays Stannis
hollywoodshopaholic That's the only one I know about.
+hollywoodshopaholic He kinda had to haha. This was the start of season 2. Have to introduced your "normal" side to the audience one way or the other.
" I WILL NOT BE A PAGE IN SOMEONE ELSE'S HISTORY BOOK "
Stannis the motherfucking Mannis!
All hail Stannis Baratheon the one true King
Stannis the man!
tillskyfallsdown Stannis the Mannis.
When D&D came with the idea of the show, and as GRRM said, if they want to bring Aliens to Westeros, he shall be utterly unable to stop them
Tonto Del Pitillo Dillane is smarter than D&D.It is a fact.It is truth.
Yes, he's the rightful actor to play the Mannis!
He did a great job playing Thomas Jefferson in HBO's John Adams also. Crazy to watch a clip of him playing Jefferson after watching GOT, that's for sure!
Stephen Dillane is one of only a handful of people whose names I recognize. Merlin in King Arthur, Thomas Jefferson in John Adams.
Veronica Panella You should also check out 'The Tunnel', it's a Sky Atlantic detective show, based on a Danish-Swedish show. That was my favourite role for him (after Stannis the Mannis).
Thanks Dolan. I will check it out. I think Sky is a U.K. channel, but I am in U.S. Still, I will try to find it.
He has a role in a British film called 44 inch chest too a bit of a strange film but has its moments
@@sherazkhan4371 Yes, adored him in that!
My respect foer Stannis' character went up a great deal whn he started choking Mellisandre. "where's your god now!" Stannis put her in her place.
If Stannis dies, I'm joining the night watch!
+Dante Abyssal You ready to take your vows and take the black?
@@CollinBuckman he can't give you any answer, you can't use mobile phone or computer in castle black :'(

STANNIS IS THE RIGHTFUL KING!
One and only, the King I'm fully supporting Him.
Book Stannis should have been show Stannis just a few unnecessary quotes taken out because they weren't important for his character development such as
"I never asked for this crown. Gold is cold and heavy on the head, but so long as I am the king, I have a duty … If I must sacrifice one child to the flames to save a million from the dark … Sacrifice … is never easy, Davos. Or it is no true sacrifice."
"I never asked for this, no more than I asked to be king. Yet dare I disregard her? We do not choose our destinies. Yet we must ... we must do our duty, no? Great or small, we must do our duty."
One of the most important ones and a personal favorite
"That boy Viserys Targaryen spoke of return as well. Go with the banker, and do as I have bid."
"As you command," Ser Justin said.
"It may be that we shall lose this battle," the king said grimly. "In Braavos you may hear that I am dead. It may even be true. You shall find my sellswords nonetheless."
The knight hesitated. "Your Grace, if you are dead - "
" - you will avenge my death, and seat my daughter on the Iron Throne. Or die in the attempt."
"And my favorite and a very sad one
When I was a lad I found an injured goshawk and nursed her back to health. I was making a fool of myself with Proudwing, he said, and he was right…The Seven have never brought me so much as a sparrow."
Stannis and roose bolton had the best voices in GOT
Stannis may not be a nice character, but in the end 1) he is right when he claims he is the rightful king 2) he is the only one who wants to do something about the army of ice zombies threatening Westeron.
ayyyyy
3) He doesn't trample the peasants like the Wolves and Lions. He even lets the Wildlings through the Wall...
Simon D.
I'm wondering what Brienne of Tarth will think when she finds out she is a Kingslayer...
heffernantj
The sole reason Stannis went to the Wall, because Melisandre, a sorceress who proved that her magic is real confirmed that they are indeed enemies, not just fairy tales.
Sir Davos for the Throne!
cant wait for him to kill some zombies
STANNIS IS LOVE...STANNIS IS LIFE!
Long may he reign in the books💛
Stannis is my all time fav character of GoT. (Along with Tyrion in the first 4 seasons)
He is my favourite character. Yes I agree, the show doesn't do him justice. What I would really dislike is if he runs out of people with kings' blood, Mel might make him sacrifice Shireen ......
This comment really aged badly holy shit
How tf did you predict this
It shows how good an actor he is. He didn't like Game of Thrones much at all, but his portrayal of Stannis is damn near perfect
Stephen Dillane is one hell of an actor. Watch him in other shows
D&D: "We researched military tactics"- Like the ones that the greatest military commander in Westeros would use?
Those military tactics are obviously some really good shit, since the 20 good men used them, too...
+workdaypegasus
TV show Stannis apparently never read "The Art of War"
Book Stannis may have even invented it...
There sits the only king I mean to bend my knee to: STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS!
STANNIS THE MANNIS IS THE RIGHTFUL KING.
Daenerys Targaryen pursues the throne for shits and giggles. Stannis pursues the throne for he has a duty to the kingdom.
Stannis Baratheon -
The one true king!
The rightful one!
The one who still cares!
KING STANNIS ON THE IRON THRONE AND DAVOS AS THE KING'S HAND!!
Such an incredible character, i hope he sits on the iron throne
Stannis of house Baratheon first of his name king of the Andals the the Rhoynar and the First Men Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and protector of the realm
One of my favorites. :) I love Stannis.
Stephen was an amazing choice for Stannis as an actor, and his appearance will always pop up in my head at the mention of Stannis in the books. Hopefully he gets more screen time in the new season!
concise and to the point, no bullshit, no flourishes. An explanation worthy of Stannis himself
Since Ned was arguably my most favorite SOIAF character and he wanted Stannis to be king, Stannis has always been one of my top choices to be king
Liam referring to Davos as a consigliere makes me wish we could see him in an Italian mafia film.
He'd make a wonderful Tom Hagen-esque character.
Stannis the Mannis
why are there no interviews with stephen dillane ? i mean there are interviews with daavos and the red woman but not a single one i found with him...
I have a feeling its because of these two things;
1) The producers have seriously marginalized his character
2) His actor, SD, is a quiet guy who doesn't really like the limelight. He is also not that enthusiastic about GOT.
***** to be fair, he was never a very popular character with fans until the last episode of the fourth season, except for with a select few such as myself
Tausif Ahsan he's always been a very popular character to the book readers
***** He likes GOT, he just doesn't like the excessive nudity in it. You're right about him not liking speaking with the press though.
One realm, one god, one king.
Great portrayal that Dillane put on
GoT would be so much better if he was still around. A much needed badass now that guys like Tywin are gone.
+Erurainon Thorin because killing your little brother (especially with sorcery) is so honorable
Erurainon Thorin that's what I hear, he was much better in the books
+Erurainon Thorin will do, thanks
Erurainon Thorin yea but blood magic is very cowardly and not honorable by any means
+Xavieus Would you feel differently if Stannis had crept into Renly's tent and slit his throat himself? Just curious.
The shadow baby was a targeted strike; only one person was killed using it, rather than the hundreds and thousands who would have died had the brothers battled.
Stannis and Tywin were true King material
You could've prevented the massacre at King's Landing.
i bet the interviewer and the camera men on their knees when they were recording this.
The show felt a bit childish and silly without Stannis and Tywin..
He was the best king so far.
I miss him and I miss Stephen Dillane. Long live King Stannis!
I wish D&D understood stannis properly
+Daniel Patten
D&D:"We researched military tactics"- Like the ones that the greatest military commander in Westeros would use?
Those military tactics are obviously some really good shit, since the 20 good men used them, too...
Sometimes I wish Game of Thrones just consisted of Davos and Stannis crushing everyone whilst strengthening their bromance as they go.
Stannis is the walking embodiment of Steel Balls
The One true king of Westeros
STANNIS BARATHEON! My favourite character.
He may not look it but this guy has some comedic power. He has one of the greatest one liners in the books.
Dave and Dan have ruined this Character . .
They tried very hard... but failed. No one can ruin Stannis Baratheon, the one true King.
Well, they actually ruined his character in the end.
"There is no creature on earth half so terrifying as a truly just man"
-Varys opinion on Stannis
Iam the only One Who is watching this in 2021 hah hehe
Stephen Dillane's portrayal of Stannis was show Stannis' biggest -and likely only- saving grace.
I don't recall the scene at the end of the video where it shows Stannis looking around at the 2:08-2:10 mark in season 2. Perhaps it was cut by the Stannis hating producers.
I think it was a shot specifically for the character feature.
ChrisCon took the words out of my mouth...
"They're all thieves. They'll bend the knee or I'll destroy them."
Spoken like a true badass.
stannis is the MAN IS
+GMR Plays You've just proven that Stannis is alive. After all, we're not calling him Stannis the manWAS.
Favorite character so far.
Remember that ALL of Mellisandre prophecies comes true - so Stannis will be sitting on Iron Throne, one way or another!
Hail to the King!
I hope the actor knows how much fans appreciated him and wanted more even if he wasn't into the role.
Stannis is the one true king
+Stannis The Mannis Baratheon The Mannis forever!
You are correct
+Stannis The Mannis Baratheon My support belongs to Stannis by right.
I have a daughter and you have a grandson. We'll join our houses.
The Baratheon-Tyrell alliance that should have happened.
ONE TRUE KING
The thing I love about Stannis is, he is not fighting because he WANTS the Iron Throne, he is fighting because he believes it is rightfully his. It is his sense of justice, not his ambition, that drives him.
Stannis and Renly's conflict, although short, is pretty symbolic and captivating when you think about it. None of them is extremely good or bad, they are litterally brothers, and yet they fight each other because of their determination to become kings due to completely opposite worldviews.
Stannis the mannis
he's fuukin awesome.. in the book.
i have read a few chapter of him, damn. what a cold character
"Stannis will perhaps do anything to get the throne."
It seems he was correct.
