In this video, I discuss working life in New Zealand. In particular, I highlight the pros and cons of working here. The biggest benefit is the work-life balance that employees enjoy here but does come at a cost of lower wages compared to some of the other developed nations.

Hi, thanks for the great videos, appreciate the effort! I note that there the CFA designation is not reflected on the critical skills list for NZ but do you know of any friends who have made it over to Australia with a CFA - is it more sought after that side? Im writing L2 in Aug..

thank you! yes demand definitely higher in Aus, much bigger market.There are people who move from nz, mainly because as nz citizens, there are no work restrictions and visas required to work in Aus. In general I've noticed here in nz that the charter is used as more of a career booster where employers really value mix of good experience and the professional qualification to compliment it.

Hi, can you do a video on CFA demand in New Zealand and how easily can a CFA charterholder migrate to NZ

Unfortunately, demand is on the low side here in NZ. The program is not that widely known in comparison to say CA program. Number of investment firms are also quite low, Australia probably is a bigger market for CFA charterholders.

I’m also interested in this. If there is a real demand for CFA in NZ? And if so where/what are the jobs? Also interested in what your career ambitions are now you have passed CFA 3?

Unfortunately not so much demand or awareness here about the cfa program. I am working in financial planning and analysis in a bank here, quite happy with career progress so far. Not expecting a major boost in career prospects as such, but great to be a charter holder and have good knowledge and analytical skills.
