it seems like it's really struggling to get up onto a plane. Does the hull have steps? if not adding some might help. also, the motor rpm sounds really high
witch to me indicates the need for a more aggressive or possibly larger propellor. this might give the boat the extra top-end speed to get up planning. just a thought! the boat looks really neat!

Man I’m trying to fabricate sponsons but I need them about 54’ long and 16” tall, the angles to get the gaps closed are kicking my butt. Going grip a ton of cardboard and razor knife blades. This is the best video I’ve found after about 30 hours of researching sponson designs. I’m making a mold from heavy cardboard taping off all lines where joins and pouring flotation foam into it to make shape of sponson then 3 layers of glass 2 layers gel coat to make a catamaran style little shallow water boat with a trolling motor 86lb thrust. But may hv to go to simpler pattern but damn sure like this one thanks

Amazing work. The boat looks awesome. It appears tho your water cooling wasnt working. When the camera was facing the rear there was not any water streams shooting out of either side of the boat.

Great looking boat - struggling a bit to get up on the plane, ploughing a bit through the water. Almost certainly too heavy, if you remove some stuff it will get up on plane and your speed will double. Remove the water pump (the water pickups are self pressurising), all the aluminium parts on the transom except the rudder, move a single turn fin to the back of the right sponsor, remove all the cosmetic stuff on top (air intakes etc) and thrn get rid of as much of the stuff as you can inside the boat. Finally move your batteries is far forward as possible, you want the cog at about the level of the back of thr sponsors. That way you won't need to add weight to the front to stop it from flipping. Your build looks awesome, a few minor changes and it will fly!!!

Excellent build now make a nice ramp about ten inches wide and three feet long a ramp to when finished power up enough to have your boat run up on it for a finale. Just a cool touch to a days fun .

в боковых спонсонах или поплавках используйте вместо шпангоутов просто плотный пенопласт и его уже обклеивайте листами фанеры, дерева, картона, стеклоткани как угодно. намного легче прочность достаточная даже для гонки и плюс при аварии непотопляемость
Hey bro that was an amazing build a few things that I noticed that you can fix to improve the speed one is where your strut holder is located there is a gap which allows water to flow into your stuff into which will cause friction and will make you lose momentum that's why the boat sounds really loud but it is not going very fast also if you take out the big water pump and go with something a little smaller that's going to reduce the weight which would increase your miles per hour
Beautiful build, the only thing I would have done differently would have been to lacquer the body and given it a mirror finish but well done 👍👍👍

I see that you cut your wood in a single move, Me I have to cut my balsa wood with my cutter at least 5 times, do you have a specific tool ? do you apply lot of strenght ? what is the thickness of your wood ? I am dealing with 3mm
I cut it in 4-5 moves. I crop it in the assembly part so that the video does not stretch

Hello, I improvised the boat. Unfortunately, there is no plan and drawing. I shaped it by watching photos and videos on the Internet. Since there is a lot of demand, I do it by using and sharing plans for the next boat models.
избыточная прочность и слишком усиленная конструкция. даже спортивные лодки и те проще устроены. а учитывая что эта модель катается сама то нет смысла её делать очень прочной. это всё сказалось на весе модели. модель способна на большее но для этого теперь надо очень мощный двигатель. ну а так в целом не плохо. из подручных материалов получилось симпатичная модель.

Nice boat but way too much stuff added. Don't really need a water pump as the rudder pick ups are designed to supply the cooling water. Run one pick up for the motor and the other for the ESC. Also don't need that many turn fins, multiple turn fins are usually needed on mono hulls and V bottom boats. Probably reduce the weight around a pound without all the unnecessary stuff and increase the overall speed. I'm not hammering your build just giving you some helpful advice. I run nitro hydroplanes and every ounce of weight you can remove makes a difference. To keep the bow down and keep the boat from flipping you need to adjust the angle and height of the thrust line of the prop.
